Salam, man Kings hastam. I am a Kenyan and I spent about 3 months in Iran in 2018. What a great country! Beautiful people who are extremely polite and welcoming. I love the Persian language. Beautiful couple! Keep the love blazing!
Congratulations. I am Iranian and have worked in Africa for over two decades. If people have more exposure to one another, the biases go away. In the end, humans are all the same. Power to you.
This is a very interesting video. I lived in Iran for 7 months from late 2021 to early 2022, and honestly, I never experienced racism in Iran at all. Maybe some people had ideas or stereotypes about me as a black person, but everyone I met was awesome and cool, and I had no problems. I heard some some Iranian friends that there is some discrimination or racism towards Afghans and Arabs but I never understood how that may manifest itself. I can say after my time spent in Iran that Iranians are the most tolerant and kind people I have ever met. More so than any other culture in the Middle East or Asia, especially Indian, Chinese, or Arab for example. It's just my opinion.
Very interesting insight! I’m happy you had a good experience overall. As you said, there are ideas or stereotypes here and there and the discrimination happens in a different way. thanks for sharing your experience
My old aunt 98 yrs old told me not to get a black wife. The thing is that older generation everywhere is not exposed to definitions of racism. Iranians especially the younger generation are tolerant and welcoming. I also noticed as opposed to asian culture who like to have white skin by holding umbrella, Young Iranians often tan themselves a lot to look more fashionable.
The way she is looking at you, simple love , she is feeling it to the deepest of her heart, this warms my heart, i hope you both to know about islam , cuz an after life is the real one, respect.
A great eye-opener, thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences of Iran. The best I've seen from Iran was by Indigo Traveler, another good one was a food tour by Mark Wiens. We don't hear much about ordinary life there, only their political issues with America, the West and Israel.
I lived in Iran (Teheran, then Dezful) for four years (1976 to 1980). The ONLY racists I ever met there, were the some of the Americans with whom I worked. I lived in Iranian neighborhoods (like "21 Metri J", near what was called Medan-e-Shahyad) for the most part; the one exception being when I lived on "Khiaban-e Parvin" (across the street from what was called "Park-e-Shahanshahi" and around the corner from "Chatanooga" disco. The other exception being during my time living on what was called "Andimeshk Air Force Base" in Dezful. I've lived in and travelled to other countries and thoroughly enjoyed my visits. But the Iranian people, in my humble opinion, are the kindest, most hospitable, funniest and giving people I have ever met in the world. They are also among the most talented and intelligent people I've met. Iran is forever in my heart.

You are so real and asked very specific and direct questions. I am glad he enjoyed his trip. About the food and saying it was good to your mom i think the majority of people would answer the same way. Very interesting about sugar in food. I too am African and never saw anyone cook with sugar. I visited China and had enjoyed some sweet and sour chicken there as well as here in the US. I had two Chinese roomates in college in our rented house and 2 Saudi Arabians and an Indian guy and it really opened me to new stuff. One day, my friend who is now a doctor in Shanghai was cooking for everyone and I was watching him cook and helping with cutting stuff. He asked me for sugar and my jaw dropped and asked him for what. That is when he told me about half of China likes sweet food and uses sugar and the other half uses salt. I could not believe it but the food tasted awesome once i got past my own insecurities. Sometimes it is just in our heads but off course I still would not cook with sugar. That is the beauty of travelling and interacting with locals you learn a lot.

Portugal used to have naval bases in southern Iran, and they brought African slaves with them. After the Portuguese left, some of the slaves stayed behind and made a life for themselves in southern Iran, particularly in areas along the coast of the Persian Gulf. They _ARE_ part of the Iranian culture (their African heritage both influencing and being influenced by Iranian culture, especially along the southern coasts of Iran where they settled) and are part of the Iranian people. Today it's extremely rare to run into racism based on skin color in Iran, mainly because the Iranian people consist of extremely white skinned (to the north and north western Iran) to dark and even black skinned (southern Iran). It's a lot more likely to run into cultural racism, mostly racism towards those considered Arabs (due to the millennia-long feuds between Iranians and Arabs). What makes it even more interesting is that there is a sizable population of ethnically Arab people living in south western Iran, but they are also considered Iranians (and not Arabs). Arabs living west and south of the Iranian border are considered Arabs, and those living inside Iranian borders (though ethnically Arab) are considered Iranians. *_It's confusing, I know_* . More of a geopolitical thing than a racist thing to be honest. Pretty much the worst thing you can say to an Iranian as a foreigner is to call them an Arab. It's the equivalent of the n-word.
I agree and disagree. There’s tribalism and classism in Iran, yes! But I believe there’s a targeted racism like many other middle easter countries against black people. And the history of the people in the south is darker than what we believe from our history books. We have a long way to go still. But conversations around this topic has to happen in order for change to occur.
How did Afro Iranians influence Iranian culture if they aren’t even a significant number? Most Iranians have never seen a black person in their life. My parents also didn’t see blacks until they came to Europe. They might had an influence on the areas they live in, but not on the entire country. So claiming that Afro Iranians had an influence on Iran just like black Americans had an influence on American society is completely wrong since Afro Iranians aren’t even 1% of the population. They’re much less than 1%. My comment is by the way not racist. Again, I said that it doesn’t make sense because their number is not significant. They’re only 30,000-50,000 people
@bhka6423 Many of the Afro-Irananians were the indigenous people who were exterminated. The history of the so called Middle East has been whitewashed because of hatred for Black people. It's a pity that the belief in white supremacy has tainted true history.
I wish you all the best. My co-worker always wanted to pay for me. I thought that she didn't want me to pay for her as I am black. I loved her but was sometimes afraid of hypocrisy because I experienced betrayal from white friends. I was still recovering from c-PTSD but I nie understand that her behaviour was cultural and not biased. Nice Video.
You guys are amazing, you create interesting content, an adult discussion, perfect couple, I will like to visit Iran is easy to get a visas as British?..
Guys! I wish I were there to participate in your discussion too. I’m Iranian having many Nigerian friends. It has been sth important for me to pay attention to. But there are black ppl living in southern regions of Iran. There are various similarities between African and Iranian culture l believe!!!👍🏻🌹
Thanks Fatemeh. I agree with cultural similarities between Iran and Ghana and especially the roots of afro-persian culture and beliefs coming from Africa. but just because we have black people doesn’t mean we don’t have racism, they’re still seen as a minority and to be honest the interaction between them and other ethnicities is very limited.
i remember first time i met a black that was in 1992 in tehran mountaion i was 20 years old and a group young boys surronded him and excited and kidding and we were so happy i was curious to touch his hair
Well have been to iran and the racism starts from the Airport through their security operatives....then extend to it's young people, but most of their elderly grown men and women are actually nice to cos the family I stayed with for a week in Tehran was fucking loving & amazing. So it's possible you didn't fully experience it because you went over there with an Iranian lady....Anyway that's my opinion, am out.
That’s true. He probably faced less challenges because he was with me, same way I don’t necessarily experience things I experience without him in Ghana while he’s around. As i mentioned in the video there are many hidden layers to discrimination in Iran and I don’t want to cover them in no way
This is really unusual for an Iranian woman to married a black man. They a really nice couple and thank god Iran cut themselves off from the rest of the world and made there own defence system. If this wasn't the case you wouldn't find this nice and happy lady with a loving man, because she will be traumatised. Congratulation to both of you .. even though I wasn't invited to the wedding 🤪🤪🤣🤣
We actually have a community of afro-iranians in the south of Iran. But i should say there’s not many intercultural marriages happening due to different ethnicity, but I would say that we’re not definitely few. Cutting yourself from the world comes with struggle and challenges of its own
@@ckbond41 hi both of it even black people in South of Iran belive their black skin is due to affection of heat of sun in South of Iran on their ancestors.

Most Iranians are olive skinned, not White.
@@OFFICIALRAMKODepends on where in Iran they are from. But most? Nope.
Nice Video.
Congratulations sweetie.
You are so cute ❤❤❤
You guys are amazing, you create interesting content, an adult discussion, perfect couple, I will like to visit Iran is easy to get a visas as British?..
I think it wouldn’t be a problem. Make sure you do it with a travel agency and get a tour package
@@Anaieta thanks for your reply: am your number one fan🥂🥂
This is surprising tbh. Ghana and Iran, even African and Iranian? Well, this is life.
Yeah it’s not very common. But we loving the cultural combination
@@Anaieta point of correction,
It's not similarities between Iran and Ghana. Instead similarities between Iran and Africa .

So glad to learn other cultures.
I love your conversation.kudos you
Do you recommend black female solo travelers to go to Iran?
I don’t recommend any foreigners to travel to Iran for now. But as a solo traveler I don’t think you would face issues differently than elsewhere.
There's a Persian girl who really likes me but I live in the US. :(
Congrats she is fine
This was funny 😅 And what was the name of that food you mentioned? The sour sweet one!
Fesenjoooon! Can you believe this?

Yall are beautiful together
I Will Be More Careful In Going To IRAN 🇮🇷 Than Going To Ghana 🇬🇭 I Am Not Even From Ghana Or Any AfricanCountries.

Great interview..but you should let your husband talk more
So a beautiful couple congrats!
She is cool❤
Well have been to iran and the racism starts from the Airport through their security operatives....then extend to it's young people, but most of their elderly grown men and women are actually nice to cos the family I stayed with for a week in Tehran was fucking loving & amazing. So it's possible you didn't fully experience it because you went over there with an Iranian lady....Anyway that's my opinion, am out.
That’s true. He probably faced less challenges because he was with me, same way I don’t necessarily experience things I experience without him in Ghana while he’s around.
As i mentioned in the video there are many hidden layers to discrimination in Iran and I don’t want to cover them in no way
I want a Persian wife too. You guys should find me one.I am a Ghanaian living abroad
So how do they treat the afro iranians there?
Like other minorities in Iran
Some are!
Greetings from the gambia good conversation. Beautiful woman inside and outside.
Thank you for watching
Oh she’s beautiful 😍
Iranian women are beautiful
I meant hearts not hurts. Oops
I got too excited.
Thanks for sharing!
Cutting yourself from the world comes with struggle and challenges of its own
Thanks for watching though and we will invite you for the anniversary party
@@Anaieta 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Anaieta I would like to know if these afro-iranians was born there or did they migrate from Africa.
