It is so important to expect the unexpected any time/anywhere and be ready to take proper evasive actions in a heartbeat.

Very great advice for new riders, I had a friend who at the time was a stranger to me but we lived in the same neighborhood, we ran into each other at the gas station complimented each others bikes and rode off, he was in front of me so I went around him cause I had somewhere to be, later that same day I found out he tried to catch up to me and crashed his bike trying to take the curve how I did and messed up, thankfully he made it and surprisingly so did his bike and he now still rides to this day❤ been riding with him for over a year now and he has gotten much better

I seen a guy crash a 250 sport bike trying to keep up with a guy on a 600 he met at the light. The guy in the 600 took off and leaned hard to take the 90 turn on an off angle hill. The guy on the 250 tried to do it as well to show off and immediately laid it down to n the middle of the intersection then popped right up out of shame . I tried to catch the guy to tell him his friend crashed and it wasn’t until 2 miles away I finally pulled up next to him at the light. When I told him his friend took a spill at the intersection. He was surprised because he didn’t know he crashed. That’s when he said. He literally met him at the same intersection. Crazy 😩

I learned a ton from watching the older guys ride when I was new. Like how did these dudes move on their bikes, how did they position themselves in a lane, and when did they cut loose and ride harder. Lots of knowledge to be gained by watching the guys who have been doing it forever.

Good show! Learn to ride slow before you ride fast, enroll in a STARS course, don't try to be Billy badass just learn. Always wear a helmet, I didn't for years, a cager turned left in front of me and we crashed, broken hip, femur, knee and a screwed up face, but I loved, wouldn't have without the lid. #1 advice is to "split the hazards" scan 10 seconds ahead of you and pick out the hazard that is going to kill you first, recognize it, deal with it first, then move on to the other hazards you see and deal with them. It is a constant process, never let your guard down

💯% AGREE I have literally been behind 2 bad accidents of which the car that hit the bikes was at fault. That doesn't matter when you are dead. The one accident happened on US Rt. 40 by Harley Davidson Dealership. The driver hit the 2nd bike he was drunk. The bike that was hit was over 50 with the forks & bars in one place rest of bike 20 feet from that. Biker that was driving head on backwards. Dead. The passenger was her first time on a bike. My wife and I blocked traffic.. believe it or not people tried to drive around the accident. Had to stop the driver that hit the bike. My self and a off duty EMT. went to render assistance. Called 911. They both were dead. Bike had green 💚 light but car ran light. The other accident we were behind was a hit and run out side Annapolis Driver hit biker kept going DUE TO HER BEING PREGNANT. Yeah. The thing that pissed me off most was idiots saying who can see a motorcycle.. I went ballistic. I bet if it was a child in black clothes at night you would not say that. The bike has lights. So it's not just the bike it's everyone else as well. Had a Harley Davidson open house in PA so we rode from Baltimore at the time. There's bars of course on the way & back . Don't drink when I ride bike or drive car. My friends neighbor left with us to come home but was 1 hour behind us. His wife got mad and rode with us we were at a friend's house having crabs in Harford Co Md. Her husband pulled in his driveway right across the street from our friends house and literally opened the door & passed out.. Not the prudent course of action... My wife learned how to ride after we were married I purchased the Ride Like A PRO Video for her Excellent. It had great exercises to gain control. Purchased a Harley Davidson BUELL BLAST for to learn on than the JD riders course. She passed with flying colors. After that I purchased her a Honda Shadow a cruiser bike. Have a Great Weekend.. Cheers 🍻

Good information. I been riding for about 12 years and considered myself a decently experienced rider. Never show off or act stupid. Always tried to be as safe as possible. Besides not wearing a helmet. I was hit on 2-4-24 on my bike. It was a hit and run. Dude left me for dead on the road. I am super lucky there was witnesses around who called 911 and I survived. Every doctor I have talked to said they don't know how I survived and I should be dead or paralyzed. I was going 45 mph and was ejected from the bike. Was told I flew about 100 feet before hitting the ground. Ended up with a severe concussion, 9 broken ribs, cracked chest plate, broken wrist with nerve damage in my arm and hand, broken teeth and a shit ton of stitches on and around my mouth, and lost my knee cap. Half of My knee shattered and the other half came out of me in the accident. EMTs actually had to pick in up off the road next to me in case it could be fixed. It couldn't. So I no longer have a knee cap. Been through some surgeries and looking at more for the nerve damage. Doctors said it will be close to a year before I can go back to work (CDL driver) cause it will take alot of rehab to be able to work the air break pedal.
But I'm alive and that's really what matters brother. Injuries heal. My bike, if able to, will be fixed eventually. And as long as I'm able to physically ride again I will get back on in. Thanks for the videos you do and be safe brother...

Retired military here. Didn’t get my licence until I was 22, which saved me some additional duties and $ early on. 1st car, I sprung for 2 parking lot lessons and parking lessons, which came in handy. Base cop pulled me over while practicing one evening. Picked up a Honda moped in Italy in the mid-80s and rode that for a few years. Barely a step above a bicycle, so I didn’t parking lot train that; then graduated to a Honda CM450 when I moved to Las Vegas afterwards. 1st day with my learner permit I took off at dusk for San Diego! Had to take the MSF course to ride on base, so did that. Started riding again 6 years ago after a 20 year gap. Eased more into it this time for health recovery reasons. For the first 200 miles I stayed on 35 MPH single lane country roads, until I got used to riding exposed in traffic, then took the two day return to riding course with the test at the end. Changed a lot in 30 years! Watching riding channels and practicing drills and stategy has been beneficial. Good tips you’re puting out here!

Missed a couple @Demons Row. When riding at night don't make your brake light look like it's the brake light of the car that is in front you, when riding on the highway, I find that it is better to be the one that is passing than the one being passed, don't ride in blind spots, be seen and heard, your front brake is your friend and every 5mph over the speed limit is that much less reaction time you lose, especially around a blind corner. Ride On @ Demons Row

Rule # 1. Ride your own ride.
My first ride (9 yrs old) was on a minibike. I ran into my parents' station wagon. Minibike disappeared a few days later....

Just got my first bike a few days ago and have literally zero ex0erience right here. Still getting the things needed to ride too, like helmet and gloves. Once i have the basics I was already planning on sticking to the country road at my house to take to a parking lot to practice. Probably should not have gotten an 09 v rod muscle, but for me it spoke to me.

Make sure you have good tyres on your bike!
I have been riding since '75 and not long ago came off rounding a bend on a rear tyre that wasn't good enough.
    And-
The golden rule that l learnt is always ride a bike that can do more than you can.

Good points, Mr. ghost. I lost 2 friends in the Army right after coming home from Iraq, one guy had already done 2 tours of duty and we had only been there for 3 years. Come home from that to die on a bike. Sad stuff. Both of them were new to bikes riding beyond their limits just like you said. Love your video's. Stay safe.

If you’re new to any kind of motorcycle, dirtbike whatever you need to take a course !! Statistics show you have a longer life expectancy if you do ! If you don’t you’re expecting to learn things from others that have limited skills and knowledge. Look how many drag their feet on the pavement or can’t do a u turn with the wheel turned and locked all the way to one side. No wonder there are so many motorcycle fatalities! Thank you for mentioning drinking and riding. That’s a no brainer but amazing how many do it.

Good Advice, never loan out your bike, never borrow a bike . Rain ain’t my thang! God give me enough sense to get out of the rain. I have been caught in the rain several times. An overpass bridge, convenience store or abandoned building is a good place to wait out the storm. No matter your skill level, two wheels and wet pavement ain’t cool. Insurance is definitely a concern. Because of being young and hardheaded, I rode for 17 years without license but I always kept full coverage on my bike. Yes, it’s expensive but it’s not as bad as not having a ride. Be sure to have theft protection too. Some folks make their living by stealing bikes, and if it’s stolen you will probably never see it again. I’ve been riding for 40 years and I still don’t exceed my limit. Most of the time, showing off will get you embarrassed.

I rode dirt bikes a few times as a kid, but when I started riding as an adult, I had nobody to teach me. Going down a curvy road trying to keep up with an experienced rider I took a curve way too fast. Totalled the bike, busted up my face. All of these are true, and as an experienced rider in an MM we enforce riding like this. We say to ride your own ride, which means ride your skill level, don't try to keep up if you don't feel comfortable. My 1% friends say dress for the slide, not for the ride. Years after being an experienced rider, I took the Motorcycle Safety Course at a Harley dealership. I was suprised at the things I learned. I highly recommend going thru the MSF course or something like it if you are serious about being a competent and safe rider. Love & Respect - Caveman

one thing to note as well. If it is raining? Pull off if you can, wait it out. Riding in the rain sucks. It's like getting tattooed, but all over. Also, if you happen to ride and it just rained and hasn't dried up yet. Do NOT ride in the middle of the lane. Think about that for a moment. Cars and trucks engines sit in the center, oil fluids and other things drip and spill in the center of the lane. When it rains. The water pulls all that crap to the surface of t he road. Hit that? And you are going down. There is 2 types of Bikers/Riders. Those who went down, and those who haven't YET but will!!!
If you are riding. Always keep your eyes open and stay alert. You may not tailgate someone, but you never know what will happen. I try to pull ahead cars and trucks, or pull back to get away from them. I say this because I once got into a wreck where l was behind a car at night and it break checked me for whatever reason, which turned into a hit and run. Locked up my back tire and l went down. Bike slide across 2 other lanes. "Still don't know how my bike didn't get run over." I only looked down for a second to check my speed because l saw a cop. That is all it took... 1 second.

Once in a while I ride with a group , and I am more comfortible as the tail gunner or ride at the end , I don't care any more about them that oh !! you can't keep up with the group or so much drama . if I get caught at a 3 minute light they keep on going , that is Ok , either I will caught up to them , or I decide to ride back home . I been in 2 Serious Accidents which was not my fault and the last ride 21 years ago my wife and I got hit in the rear by a drunk guy on a bike trying to pass us on the right side of the road coming down from a Bridge . My wife almost DIED .

I heard a guy say to stay alive on a motorcycle…You need to think like a pilot does. Does a pilot fly when the weather is horrible? Pilots only fly in certain areas and they make sure all of their gear and plane are in tiptop shape. Don’t ride somewhere that is very dangerous. I will not ride in certain parts of the city. The roads are completely horrible and there is traffic, bumper-to-bumper, and people are on their phones and driving crazy. Call me a wimp, but having to wear a colostomy bag in a wheelchair drooling on yourself, or being in a casket is far worse than being labeled a wimp.
