You are an outstanding teacher: easy, clear instructions, no distracting noisy music - and you don't rush. This is creativity and joy combined! Thank you
Stuart, your tutorial should be a blueprint standard❤ Concise, excellent instructions and helpful tips as you go. No background distracting music to compete with for anyone hearing impaired, thank you for that. I have made this bag several times now, for my grandkids, and just love having you guide me as I sew.❤🎉🤩🇦🇺
Stuart that was the most exciting and easy project I've ever followed , i have been quilting since the early 80s , I'm now 70 yrs but my knees can't do the floor work joining the 3 layers together ,so I've not done quilting for a few years , but after finding your vlogs I'm over the moon to do all of your projects. I've just finished my rice bag and absolutely LOVE it ..thank you so much for inspiring me , onto the glass case now and what ever comes up next . Love and blessings from Australia xx....
I have been sewing for about 40 years on and off as a job and as a hobby. That's the best tutorial explanation I have seen. You will have everyone sewing who watches this x
Stuart you are such a wonderful teacher. Your directions are clear and precise. I like that you are very organized. You have a wonderful smile and a very pleasant voice. Thank you.
Well I’ve just finished my first rice bag , quilted it , and embroidered with some beading , I shall fill it with toiletries for a Christmas present for my twenty something niece . Thank you Stuart for a delightful project , well tutored , had to rewind a few times but you never failed to guide me . X
Thank you for this pattern. I made these bags as gift bags for my granddaughters birthday! She had beautiful curtains that were being replaced. So I took the colorful curtains and made the bags! Reuse, Repurpose and enjoy! The kids and parents love them!!!
Stuart, you are such a delightful instructor. This was a brilliant tutorial and I can think of a million ways to use these bags. Thank you again for taking the time to show us how to make these.
I agree I am 73 yo and I have always sewn as a hobby i love the way you explain everything thank you Stuart .Lynette ps love your quilts n the background
Additional uses for rice bags - add a bag of rice or grain and use as a door stop, carry craft supplies, use when shopping for items that fall through a shopping trolley/cart, a toiletries bag forr travelling, a small bag for beach necessities, a gift bag for an odd shaped gift, a bag for the car to contain clutter, kids small toy bag,.... I'm sure we'll all find dozens more. Thanks for the clear instructions and demo. I use "orphan" quilt blocks to make bags for my sewing room (thread and notions storage for a current project).
Absolutely brilliant! I am a new sewer and have made a few drawstring bags to hold my knitting projects. Your video has been so helpful and I Love all of your explanations of why you are doing what you are doing. I can't wait to make some of these. thank you so much. Fern in Minnesota
Thank you. I had made a few before, and while they looked nice, now using your technique for finishing, they look fabulous! Your box sewing technique has really improved the look of my bag. Thank you for such a great video!
You are a very good teacher...I am going to make these for Christmas gifts and fill them with goodies! I liked your tutorial so much that I subscribed...look forward to seeing what other clever things you come up with.
Just made one of these bags after seeing your video .... a slightly smaller one as I only had a small piece of fabric.... turned out really well so will make a few as Christmas gifts....thanks for the excellent tutorial
Thank You very much for this calm and really good video with all Your great tips and Your personal type of presentation. I really like it and now will sew my own rice bag! 👍🏻
I just found your site. I LOVE it. Watched the video for the rice bag. So simple, so sweet. I will definitely make a few of these in the near future - perhaps for Valentine's day for my grand-daughter's (after finishing other projects first). I can't wait to watch more of your videos. You are a awesome instructor. Thank you for clear and simple instructions.
Made 21 of these for all the ladies in my 2 patchwork classes, also embroidered their names on them. Tried to choose something different for each bag. They were all delighted. Excellent tutorial manny thanks.
A lovely simple but effective bag that I can use as a knitting project bag - wonderful!! Thank you very much for your clear and easy to follow instructions. I look forward to seeing what else you make!!! Cheers!!
Excellent video. Just the right level of instruction for this knitter who wants to make her own project bags. I caught the sewing bug after borrowing my mom’s machine to make masks. I’ll be watching more of your videos. Cheers!
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. You mention so many useful hints to keep us from making mistakes/oopsies! I've done all those things you mentioned at some time in my sewing life and now that I'm older, it's even more important to remember, for example, to change the stitch length right away so as not to forget. I'm definitely going to watch this again while I'm making one of these rice bags. 🙂
I love your tutorials. As others have said I always learn something. You make each step very clear. I’ve watched every one of your Accuquilt videos I could find. Please do more especially a double wedding ring quilt. I will be making these bags for gifts as they will be great for knitters who use multiple colors because they can run different yarn through the tab gaps. Thank you for another fabulous video. I would watch you sew anything. 💕
Wow, you are better than my old domestic science teacher by far. You are bringing to life techniques and giving tips that make me feel confident to make this bag I have wanted to make for ages. Thank you.
Amazing tutorial, simple but detailed instructions. Encouraging for the novice or anyone returning to sewing. Keep up the good work as we do not want to lose you and keep the projects coming! They are appreciated.
What an excellent, clearly explained and engaging tutorial! I think you are a fabulous presenter Stuart and now feel confident enough to make this bag, even though I haven't done any sewing for a long time and normally knit/crochet.
Just found you .. very impressed ... instructions detailed enough for beginners but not repetitive as to bore the advanced sewist ... Love this bag! Subscribed and looking for more of your videos now.
I absolutely love this bag. Seen this video many times now. Still get excited to make this everytime. I've bought 2 yards of main fabric just for this. But I'm still too scared to begin. I'm fairly new to sewing. Made a few things since. But for some reason I'm afraid of beginning this gem. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
I know I must make some of these for gifts but the first one is for me. Always carry some hand work with me kitting, embroidery or quilting and this bag will be perfect for all those little things needles, threads, scissors and so on. Thank you, my grand daughter needs one for the important things any 8 year old carried. Oh yes, must use the special fabrics I have put aside for a special project. Danish heart quilt is on my short list for both of my grand daughters.
I very much enjoyed this tutorial. I have acquired a lot of Christmas fabric and premade 9 patch squares. This will be a wonderful way to go through it all.
