Yes absolutely! We had planned to do a full vlog of west Michigan during a snow event, that way people could see it first hand.

Great videos and channel! I grew up in Stanton (don't blink), but live north of Chicago now. At some point, depending on what happens with the "work from home" situation, I'm considering moving back to Michigan. In terms of walkability, affordability, things to do, etc, what would be your best recommendation for a town in West Michigan to look at?
Definitely need close proximity (and recommendations) for the Jeep life!

@@RobZ1967 Rob take a quick look at Ludington, if you want to be near jeep stuff (manistee national forest, and silver lake dunes area are nearby) and still have small town regular hours year round retail service economy. Hospital etc. For the most part you don't have to leave town to get anything like in other tourist communities. (you've got Walmart,Meijer, Family fare , aldi, HD and Lowes, plus typical strip center retail)..
You could be in Traverse city in 2 hours, GR's airport in 90 minutes , Muskegon Metro in 50 minutes.
The downtown is very walkable there's about 90 homeless year round in the town , and it's a bit methy on the south side. . It's got very old housing stock pre 60's for most of it and a lot of 1800's , 1900's stuff that today's furniture has a hard time fitting in to . There is a a decent year round restaurant , brewery , bar scene. (it's a one Mexican, One Chinese, type of town) it's geared toward tourists yet stays open year round but cranks way way down after Labor day. . Covid hit the town very hard so a lot of the downtown retail collapsed. Still if you pick a $300K house downtown , you are close to the waterfront, parks etc . the beach area houses cost about $600-700K but you could easily walk to the beach from downtown via the blue foot pathway or just down the main drag. It's safe more or less as long as you don't mind a little bit of meth head action property crime stuff. the town just built a $70 million dollar elementary school and is doing a minor tweak to their high school for $30 million. IF you can work remotely and don't mind a semi rural area it's worth a look, and it's just a 4 hour boat ride to the west side of Wisconsin in the summer if you want to see a sunrise over Lake Michigan rather than a sunset.

My family has been in GH for 100 years. It was a great place to grow up/live in the 50s through mid 70s. I left in 75 when I was 23years old. I'd love to take a try back there. Most of my family still lives there But it has changed so much. The Township is now wall to wall subdivisions and convenience stores. I want to remember it the way it used to be.
