I was 10 in 1976 and already an avid Bod Dylan fan, no matter what anyone else said I played his music loud and proud and sang along in my own little world. I still do that today, I dreamed of seeing him in concert for my whole life, and in November of 2019 he came to Providence, RI. Nevertheless, none of them approaches the impact and relevance that Mr. Dylan has had in society along his more than sixty years on stage, delivering his message to humankind. Peace.

me too. The 76 seem to harken back to the folk days, stripped down, where he might've finally laid down the sword and gave enjoyable justice to his pre-electric stuff. 75 has the artistic embellishments, which have their own value sure, but you know..... sometimes you just want to hear someone belt it out and play straight ahead!
In 1976, in Clearwater, Florida, our supposed "Dark Ages," and the crowd appreciated the set list above. Now, if they go out, they go to a Hate Rally. So, I prefer to stay at home and listen to this!
Bob was right on top of his game around this time in 1975 and 1976. He was an absolute boss man! The atmosphere is truly electric, which is ironic if you’ll pardon the unintentional pun, 10 years on! Some of his best songs performed during one of his best periods of creativity ... it doesn’t get any better than this!
His masterpiece is Blood on the Tracks, 1975, with the most incomprensible work of genius that is Idiot Wind, last track, on a self-produced album, that he confessed was the most painful he'd ever written/composed. Incomprehensible in the sense of beyond human understanding as to how one solitary individual had the mind and spirit to come up with so much in classical ballad form, with such references to world literature, with such epic breadth and breath and bitter caustic power and ultimate ability to overcome the hurt that could strike you down if you feel what he's singing.
@@NastazyaPhylipovnaTchornaya Blood on the Tracks certainly is a masterpiece. Speaking of masterpieces, did you take your username from the woman in Dostoyevsky’s book, The Idiot? It’s a great book; Nastasya wanted to be loved on the one hand, but she couldn’t let it happen on the other. And Rogozhin (not sure about my spellings here!) was of the opinion that if he couldn’t have her, no one could.
@@oleggorky906 Combination of Dostojewski and corny classic Russian folk song, as 'surname' ( = "Black Eyes, Beautiful Eyes= Tchornaya / approximate transcript of "dark" in English, feminine declension...). Not necessarily my favorite work of his, I'd put The Double, an early short novella above. Gogol is my favorite of the 19th century Russian "Masters," but I avoided Taras Bulba as an alias. The references in Idiot Wind are obviously to Shakespeare most prominently - A tale told by an idiot/ Macbeth+ King Lear - Wind as metaphor of human ingratitude> 2 of the darkest works of the greatest English playwright alluded to just in the title; and scriptural throughout. There is so much more, Americana interspersed every second stanza devoid of triviality, the work really stands apart and beggars beliefs. Thanks for your comment and interest. Take care:)
@@NastazyaPhylipovnaTchornaya Really nice to see you disseminate so much literature there - great work! 👍 I’m not nearly as knowledgeable as you are, but I do like to read and think about a book first. When I’ve done that I look at what others have to say about it. I think I picked up some references to Pushkin in The Idiot; what with Aglaya and The Poor Night. But Russian writers used to like doing that- referencing other authors in their books and leaving it to the readers to see if they got those references. Dostoyevsky used to mention Schiller a lot, that much I do remember. My favourite is The Brothers Karamazov, but there is so much to cover in that book … guess I’ll leave it for another day! I have been thinking about trying some books from the Soviet era; one commenter on another video a few months back told me that the Strugatsky brothers were quite good sci fi writers. One of these days I’ll see if I can find a copy of one of theirs on Amazon or something.
Beyond beautiful...the Bard of Minnesota AND the wonderful Ms Baez, who sings the lost lover's lament she wrote for Bob, Diamonds and Rust. More beautiful still...
Yes, I have always marveled at his diction...someone just mentioned this. Yes right here it's just quite amazing. That voice is capable of many many incarnations. But he always follows some of tge basic rules of a singing class.

An absolute gift to behold : Mr Tambourine Man seems to be a kaleidoscope of Bob’s inner feelings like craving for time out of mind. Bobby Newhart whom Dylan knows for 1200 yrs although humorous , causes Bob to break the song with an OOH ! Dylan is more the genius 🎼 Merci for post.
I've seen Dylan several times but this concert is an absolute gem. Wish I had been at this one; simply incredible performance. Don't know how I missed it being in my backyard.
Their duets are tge best I've seen and heard. The Water is Wide, I shall be Released ( RTR ) and their casual practicing the 3 harmony songs at the Savoy hotel in 1965. I keep going back to that film clip.
Thanks for reminding me about the Savoy Hotel rehearsals. These duets of theirs just send me to another plane. Can't get enough of them. I totally love Bob in all his incarnations but I keep coming back to RTR the most.
This is GOLD. Thankfully I did get to see Bob & The Band at MSG 2 years earlier but I wish I had the chance to see him in a smaller venue like this. I had a buddy when we were in our teens back in the early 70s, who with me, we were the big Dylan freaks in SHeepshead Bay Brooklyn. We used to lock our other friends in his bedroom and not let anyone out until they heard Desolation Row, Visions.... and other classics over and over until they admitted they loved it. This would take 2 or 3 hours and several bowls of Colombian weed. WHat a blast.
Su música , sus letras cada vez me han cautivado cada noche lo escucho grande maestro de las bellas letras exelente Bob Dilan muy bien merecido el premio Nobel de literatura ❤❤
It is noted in wikipedia that rehearsals for the spring leg were held in Clearwater, Florida during April, and the first show was on April 18 at the Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida. (Performances by Dylan and Baez during the Clearwater rehearsals were taped and aired on The Midnight Special.)
Thank you for posting. I am the farthest thing in the world from a soft-hearted, sentimental man, but fifteen minutes of this, with that angel Joan, and I felt my face begin to melt in some strange way, and I was grateful, then, that it was only tears, only my terminal anger, and not some more desperate need.
Although the honesty of your recognition undercuts your assertion about being "the farthest thing". Although I suppose that's obvious to anyone with half a brain.....
I saw The RTR in 1975. He is always changing and no matter what or how he performs and even if he stops - Ill love him throughout eternity. Im not sure why but - Thats how his heart ,soul ,mind , his genius and all the little flaws have effected me ! Oh poor me!
Wow, you never cease to amaze us with every song every concert you perform, and all of the other great musicians you perform, and sing with.I wish that concert had included Charlie McCoy backing you on Desolation Row.you're a phenomenal guy.
WowWee.... Im dumbstruck I couldn't think of anything else to say. To see him singing and playing in concert in the 70s is just too much for my little brain..... He is fantastic and lovely and strong 💪 💙 I've never wanted to see him in concert because I thought it would kill the magic I feel when I listen to him. Strange, eh? Well thank you for putting this video up it is wonderful to hear and see. Love to all.

Nice job, Bob!
In 1976, in Clearwater, Florida, our supposed "Dark Ages," and the crowd appreciated the set list above. Now, if they go out, they go to a Hate Rally. So, I prefer to stay at home and listen to this!
Iddhis Bing I go out, I don’t hate...
Brighter days ahead. It’s always darkest before the dawn.
WTF are you babbling about, Iddhis ?
@@sneakerfacevids441 Obviously you wouldn't know.
BIDEN 2020 !
I’m not nearly as knowledgeable as you are, but I do like to read and think about a book first.
JUST KEEP ON ROLLING BOB HONEY YOU AND YOUR BAND ARE THE BEST I AM JUST SMOKING AND LISTENING TO YOU
Que grande poeta e músico! Mereceu 100 vezes o Premion Nobel de Literatura!!
Yes, I have always marveled at his diction...someone just mentioned this.
Yes right here it's just quite amazing. That voice is capable of many many incarnations. But he always follows some of tge basic rules of a singing class.
Hearing Joan Baez sing "Diamonds and Rust," the masterpiece she wrote about her relationship with Dylan brings chills to the spine, it's that good.
C’est splendide tous les deux magique merci ❤
caramba!!!! Sou do Maranhão -Brasil.... nunca teve a oportunidade de ver este gênio.... é um músico fantástico.,...como ele é como ser humano????.... obrigado, pela postagem!!!!
Deux très grands merci c’est magnifique ❤
You are so wonderful and I love you Bob Dylan and Nightly moth for this wonderful performance from my heart Bob Dylan and I love you, Elizabeth ❣️
Hearing this again, much like the song I heard in 1966. He gets my heart ❤️ 💙 💜.
@@galesummers2704 Thank you for your love and support you are a blessing 🙏 Elizabeth
And now after his spring/summer 2023 European tour he is as fucking fantastic as ever!
So talented. Just standing up there by himself guitar 🎸 harmonica voice Hold everyone captive
I am a proud Cowboy 🤠❤😊❤🎉
Magnifique monsieur Dylan ❤
Comme c’est beau tous deux ensemble merci ❤
Magnifique merci ❤
C’est le maître ! Merci ❤

I've seen Dylan several times but this concert is an absolute gem. Wish I had been at this one; simply incredible performance. Don't know how I missed it being in my backyard.
I saw the same concert in Austin Texas a😢it is the only concert that made me flash back to the 60’sn There is Dylan and everyone else
The only song and concert that has imprinted in my mind and life I still see and hear that night
@@robinhaar7738 They sure are great !
You took the words out of my mouth.yes yes❤
This was out a few years ago, glad to see it back, hopefully youtube will leave it alone
I was there. Great show.
This is the best performance I have ever seen him do he seems as if you could really reach him
If you have not already, search out Bob Dylan 1988 Bridge Benefit concert. It will not disappoint, I promise.
The times they are a changing. This is so true in 2024.
Su música , sus letras cada vez me han cautivado cada noche lo escucho grande maestro de las bellas letras exelente Bob Dilan muy bien merecido el premio Nobel de literatura ❤❤
Isis is one of Dylan's greatest live performances, I keep coming back to view this. But did you notice that he skipped a verse?
Get that checked dude sounds like your having a stroke !!!😹😹😹👺👺
Beautifully expressed.
Although the honesty of your recognition undercuts your assertion about being "the farthest thing". Although I suppose that's obvious to anyone with half a brain.....
what’s “terminal anger”
Beautiful words, Andrew Brown.
simply wonderful
Well said everyone 👏
Love the guy and his music ❤️
This should of aired on his NBC special instead of the Hard Rain concert in Colorado. This concert is pure Bob Dylan.
Love it.
Five days later, I saw him in Tallahassee. Unforgettable. Born in Hibbing, Minn. also.
actually born in Duluth Minnesota. He grew up in Hibbing.
Phenomenal 😊😍❤❤😊😊 T.
Holy crap. First time seeing this first part. I've seen bits, but Amazing!
What an AMAZING Lay Lady Lay he plays here!
WowWee.... Im dumbstruck I couldn't think of anything else to say. To see him singing and playing in concert in the 70s is just too much for my little
brain..... He is fantastic and lovely and strong 💪 💙
I've never wanted to see him in concert because I thought it would kill the magic I feel when I listen to him.
Strange, eh?
Well thank you for putting this video up it is wonderful to hear and see. Love to all.
spread the my friend
this is awesome
richard mcgann you’re wrong
@@richardmcgann5542 okay I'm definitely missing something here. What do you mean to say and why don't you say it and even words that I can understand?
If you think my comment stinks or is in appropriate please tell me straight-out.
If you do like it then say that also.
I do not understand what you wrote please make it clear.
@@ilovedylan3943 For what it's worth... I can understand your comment. Not sure that guy meant anything... perhaps he missed the word 'word' and meant 'spread the word, friend' and nanchanger misunderstood... (or has something been deleted?). Anyway, like I say, I can understand your feeling. I'm assuming you're young. I wonder what it's like for some older people seeing this. I'm 60 but it doesn't mean much to me as my feelings for Bob don't have much to do with how he looks, but i know that's not the case for some people (especially females it seems - and I mean that as a simple statement of fact, with no negative connotations)
