The 1/3 less power makes total sense, too! The normal Atmospheric thrusters are Turbojet engines, whereas these new flat Atmospheric thrusters are more akin to EDFs (Electric Ducted Fans). I love that they did that and actually made the thrust output more realistic and representative to what they are.
I have always thought the existing atmos should take a little power and also require fuel like say H2 (and O2 from the atmosphere, yea even on planets that have none just to make life easy). And the Hydro thrusters should take H2 and O2 (its S P A C E).
I've watched a bunch of vids covering the new additions, and so far, you're the ONLY one that mentioned the wheel collision changes, third-person camera improvements, and performance improvements. I'd almost wager those parts are more important than the block additions. Kudos for covering that.

As always, some things look amazing, some look a bit meh and some you've gotta wonder at the glaring oversights that are missing from the sets. With all the half-block decorative options it looks like I need to redesign a few ships, guess it'll have to wait for after I'm done with Starfield. Thanks for doing this.
The wheels themselves still have normal sized hitboxes so if you build inside the wheel well when you turn the wheel's hitbox will contact and stop the wheel dead. I managed to launch a few test rovers already when i tried to turn at mid speeds. Keen made it so you can now build closer to the wheel suspension but forgot to update the wheels hitboxes. If you replace any wheels on old designs with the new closer wheels suspensions paste it into creative and test it first or prepared for Clang related consequences.
Excellent showcase of the new blocks and DLC add-ons. Cannot WAIT to start working with the new wheel suspension and thrusters... creative dreams are already forming and wanting to burst forth in my survival world.
So I was thinking about the new thrusters, came up with a couple of use-cases for them (other than looking cool, of course) - Firstly, lateral thrust on smaller craft; if you don't side-slip much, it's enough to allow inertial dampening to work properly, without being as hard to fit into a design. Secondly, manoevring thrusters - I tend to group thrusters on things which need a lot of thrust into docking thrust and drive thrust, turn off all but one or two in each direction when docking to avoid slamming into connecters too easily. For really light ships, a single small flat might be an even better way to fill that role.
I got a few things. Hopefully you notice this comment for the last point. First if I remember right from the preview you could put the new suspension back to back and essentially make a frame that looks like a T or +. I've not played since getting the update to see. Second the fish made me laugh. I'm a fish keeper so I noticed right away they had the clown fish, blue tang, both are salt water, then a discus (the multicolor stripped round one) and an Oscar (the biggest fish in the tank) that are freshwater. And last and what I hope you see. Examine the books closely. I won't ruin what's on them but they are titled pretty good with a few funny names. I want to see a reaction video on you reading them since you probably have not noticed them yet.
@kanajashi @30:48 you missed the very small buttons for playing the sounds from the selected tracks in the center of the block. the play button on the block is functional. @34:30 you missed how the engineer is actually laying on the bed. they are sleeping on there side.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the yellow outline exclusive to the conveyored blocks only? So if there is no way to pipe it up to the ship's cargo it shouldn't be yellow.
just grabbed the DLC myself, looking forward to getting stuck in with it today to check it out for build capability. I think I will even go back to my roots and only put in a few of the essential mods, like quieter tools and no lightning damage for this run :) As always, you did a great job on the presentation of everything man, keep up the great work!
Lets face it; the new scenario is basically UT2k4's Onslaught game mode, minus the nodes that you had to capture before your team could attempt to destroy the other team's power core.

Already tried to do a supply drop with the cargo crate the night before (41:30). They keep flipping onto their tops and as a large grid block, you need the huge parachute hatch for it.

There will be some times / occasions when you would want to have some secret compartments to hide things in (weapons, space credits, zone key chips, your collection of plushies) in case you're boarded. So not having them stand out with a yellow border around it would be a plus.
31:55 how cool would it be if you can add a script into the theater screen block to have it play someones live stream while playing the game, i know in the game called raft, there is a screen mod where u can do something similar to that
Maybe the next "decorative" thing Keen can do is revisit some of the old blocks (esp, those that have animated mod versions now) and add nice animations.
Are the flyer, atv and new cab rover stock vehicles or made by you Kanajashi? (If made by you, can we get those on the workshop? Those look very nice and would love to use!)
Those button and control panels would be nicer if they had offsets, we could also use inverted curved lcd. And horizontal and vertical scroll capabilities on lcd. Is this medical bay air tight on the back side?
I really wish Keen would add the Lifted suspension instead of the default original though.... also tank tracks would be greatly appreciated too as would proper motorcycle and aircraft wheels
I was waiting for this video, my dumb brain immediately bought the dlc and then i had no clue what part of it was the payed update or the free update xD and now knowing, more of the payed dlc should have been in the free update
'more of the payed dlc should have been in the free update'. That argument has been made for every DLC to date, but if you think of it as a reward for supporters, the balance is perfect. So often on public servers I hear people who do not have access to DLC blocks, and I'm like the DLCs are so cheap, why not support the devs. Those inset blocks on their own are more than worth the miserly contribution asked for. DLC blocks have an icon in the corner when viewed in the G menu, a different icon for each DLC, so you can tell which are DLC and which are free.
What is the power output of the new thick solar panels? Since I typical double stack them, I would be losing 50% power output if those don't produce more.
These packs almost always have a block that I hate and never use, unless I'm trying to tag something with an eyesore(like a small outpost which needs seeing to, but I haven't the time), in this pack it is that hideous wind turbine.

Main functionality is always added as free Update to game. So while it's my wishful thinking of moving Crate to free version. It not a big deal to throw couple of coffee money to get whole pack.
out of curious. these scaffolding blocks, can the bullets, rocket and ballistic ammo fly through or not? which is harder to hit the frames. that would be interesting to see the result
if so then why not do something like your modded single player survival, except, its co-op, like co-op could be season 5, or 6 if you've already done a 5
Keen went all out with these new blocks, and i love how instead of making a separate block for each one, they simply doubled up the faces, that REALLY makes things easier to find.

You did good coverage here, BUT you also lied. Both of your last two series were not PvE, they were PvP. No matter how you slice it, Humans cannot be NPCs, so any series you do with "Human NPCs" is a PvP series. That includes both Season 3 and Season 4. Plus, MWO is PvP as well. So over half your gaming content is PvP. Also, like the lockers you would expect to be able to open drawers and various appliances like dishwashers, ovens... etcetera. If it has a door, it should be openable. No yellow needed - it's obvious, just like the lockers.

I love that the new thrusters are weaker than the old ones. Design trade offs are great.
I do want more depth analysis of big atmo thrusters as they look much bigger then standard big Atmo thruster.

Those new Atmo-thrusters will be perfect for making the S.H.I.E.L.D Heli-Carrier from Marvel.

The storge in the new blocks are variable per different storage area on the same block. Same for the barrels.

You should be able to change the color of the explosive barrel but it should only change some minor highlights
also the new atmospheric thrusters use quite a bit less power which is nice for small scout craft

Doubtful, Space Engineers doesn't have compound blocks, they will use the full rectangle of space each.
