Absolutely love the lap dance music playing during the spider twerk. Epic!!!
Thanks! That spider had back!
Hell yeah she did.
A breath-taking sight to behold. And the elevator install wasn't bad either.
Thanks Steve, I've been working out!
Hahahhahahahavavha good comeback
Kinda weird
@@mike971000 its only weird if you make it, weird.
19:22 wasn't too shabby neither but missing a sound effect...
you have no idea how much i love this series, your so funny and extreamly inventive!
Thanks Hurricane Husky, feedback like this makes it worth the work!
@@HerbOMatic THE EMPTY PLATITUDES AND THE MINDLESS SUPERLATIVES IS WHAT MAKES IT ALL WORTHWHILE AND OF COURSE, THE AD REVENUE.
@cunt-4000 howdy
Have you considered building a small shed above the elevator? Privacy, seclusion, weather proofing, etc. a new raised sliding cover could allow the elevator to come up higher. You make an excellent video and you are quite the talented guy.
Exactly my thoughts too 👍
Nah, get a metal cover that makes it look like one of those green electrical transformer boxes. be all sneaky like
Regarding the furniture: Movie Studio's love period furniture and may pay big bucks if any of it is salvageable for restoration. If you can't sell it, offer to donate it to a restoration company. Rotten wood, cloth and leather can be replaced, but leaving it in tact as much as possible allows them to find matching fabric and recreate the wood to ensure an accurate period restoration. As a last resort if no one wants it then toss it.
Love the recaps at the beginning of the videos...
Also, major props to your wife for putting up with your crap. ;-)
Emergency route. In the structure of the frame, it would be good to have a "ladder" along which you can get up if there is no electricity. As well as an elevator floor hatch. So you can get out even when the elevator is up. Both easy to add. You will add horizontal steps between existing supports.
Maybe there’s room for a rope ladder.
I’m just worried about being able to get out of that sliding door gets blocked accidentally while they are down there enjoying the comforts of their newly renovated bomb shelter / earth cooled den someday.
I mean, what if a stray horse decides to die right in the area where the door is supposed to slide when the door opens.
My very next project, if I were them, should be a completely separate escape route… possibly into one of the buildings.
I was looking at the comments for the exact same thought. Ladder rungs built, or even bolted into the frame would allow for an emergency escape route.
Yep I was thinking the same thing. Definitely need ladder rungs.
@@ssn608 They also will need a blast door and blast protected air inlets with filters for radioactive particles if that shelter should become a shelter for a nuclear war.
I don't know how I have not run across you before, but you sir are hilarious. Subscribed.
I was thinking about that scene in, "The Guns of Navarone", where there is a lift that transports shells and powder, up from the magazine. An underground swimming pool would be a cool thing to have down there. Your wife is such a good sport.
Yeah their limit switch made things go boom...
Yes! I wondered if anyone else thought of that. Remember the joke rat too?
Wow! What a beauty. Ruby red Lass. Especially with no visible tattoos. And you're not bad either, Herb. LOL
What you need down there is some amateur radio equipment so that you can stay in touch with other "Ham radio operators" during the apocalypse. Ham radio operators are mostly single guys that live in their mommy's basement so I believe they will be able to relate to your bomb shelter videos.
Good luck in the contest.
Two things, your wife is a very understanding woman, second don’t ever take her for granted.
Eugene, some of these ideas are hers! She's amazing and I let her know it.
@@HerbOMatic If you both just have Fun, you will get 1 million subs one day.
Yeah..my wife would just yell and complain...but not anymore.
@@alienprepper5918 RIP . She is in a better place now Alien . I hope it wasn't too traumatic for you . Mine has been logging into my dog and spying on me I think also but I have a half finished basement with partial dirt floor so I should be O K .
She seems awesome. We all need one just like her!
Really appreciate these videos. I know this project definitely had its ups and downs.
Some might be slow on the up take but I’m down with where you were going with that.
This made my day keep up the great work! Can't wait to see the restoration of the bunker Begin, maby you could even make a tunnel to your show like Colinfurze (:
I'm looking forward to getting started on the bunker too! Next is cleanout, then probably electricity. Thanks PCnoob!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that he should do like Colin Furze did.
Love the humor in your videos. The bunker is cool too.
Looking forward to the big clean out! Really gonna put the elevator to the test. That furniture had to be from the 60’s! Loved seeing Mis-o-matic, you two are 2 peas in a pod! Hope she makes more vids with you. Stay beautiful, Oh and herb you too.
She really is my match! She likes making them, I'll drag her into more projects. Thanks Larry, looking forward to seeing all the furniture myself!
Hopefully u get back to the bunker work again can't wait to see it
Great job! Fun series to watch and enjoyed your craftsmanship. Pays off keeping all extra bits and pieces of scrap! Looking forward to the renovation.
My dad used Brylcreme back in 50's-60's brings back memories. Great video series
Man I love this series! You've got amazing fab skills! Can't wait to see the shelter cleaned up. Keep up the great work
Thanks Fullraph!
Found you randomly last night. Genuinely made me laugh. Instant subscriber. I really appreciate the skills, tools, comedy, interesting challenges and personalities. You can feel the love. Love it. Thanks so much. Hope your business challenges can be overcome assp. Regards.
I think that it would be a good idea to store your extension ladder down in the bunker incase of a power outage. That way you wouldn't be stuck down there
Definitely a good idea Jeffrey!
Install some ladder rungs on the frame, that way you can still use your extension ladder for other things.
There's a few steps on the frame. Enough for most people.
Maybe a battery with a dc motor would be a better idea since the whole point is to survive when everything is failing. You could hook it into mains power to charge the battery for now but use solar panels if the power never comes back on. You would still need a ladder or a way to climb out just in case.
I just genuinely gufawed at these absolutely good dadisms. You must have a great relationship, and it shows.
Fantastic work! It looks as if you could some additional horizontal bars going up the framework (in-between the existing ones) and you'd have an emergency ladder as a way to climb out with no power :)
It was a Bomb shelter for the big 'what-if'. If it's going to be used for more than that (obviously) it should have some basic fire safety and a second egress. Even a simple vertical shaft with a built in ladder in a back corner or over the bathroom would make it practical. Even the missile silos like the one in Tucson had emergency egress routes. A little shed over the main hatch also makes a lot of sense. It would just look like a standard storage shed at the corner of that fence. Super fun watching. I'll trade you an airplane ride for a tour one day :) Scott in Chandler.
Tip: if you want to raise the platform to be level at the top so you don’t have to step up to get out, just build a box the size of the platform at the height needed to finish flush. At the bottom you can just do a raised floor with a couple of steps or a ramp to the door. Might just need to raise your safety gate. Just an idea 🤷🏽♂️. I’ve been loving watching the build and your humour is 👌🏻.
I love this series and channel. This is my new comfy place. Your type of humour is so rare these days, please don't stop.
Recently discovered you guys, can’t wait to see how this project turns out!
Your humor is brilliant! I keep rewinding to hear things again lol
This is a cool project. You did very well. I can't wait to see more
Thanks Michael, hopefully it becomes a job one day, I love it!
The intro recaps and butt music is hysterical!
I am sure everyone in the apartment complex likes watching you work on the bomb shelter. I don't think I would like everyone watching me out in my yard though.
Your videos are getting better and funnier. Thank God your wife is a good sport.
She's got the same sense of humor! She often adds ideas to my goofy stuff. Thanks Kevin, I'm glad the videos are getting better!
congrats on reaching another milestone - the first episode filmed entirely in ass-cam
I've binge watched the entire series on the underground shelter. I've come up with a good use for it after you rehab it- in-law guest suite!! It's perfect for all those unexpected guests that you just don't have space for. You could build a little shed over the opening.
"the steel on our handle has dried" is probably the best hot glue gun explanation of welding I've every heard before.
Cool idea to build an elevator!
Now You can clear bomb shelter more easily..
Great video! 👍
So…. if the power goes out or the winch fries or something, how can you get out? You have a ladder in there? Maybe make a ladder out of rebar going up the side of the cement? Something like that in the future.
I think you did an amazing job and I really enjoyed your videos man, I can’t wait for more! 😎
I love your humor. Thanks for sharing.
Good idea may be to weld some extra runs on the elevator. so incase of a failure in the motor/winch you can use it as a ladder to get out
But sometimes you don't want people to get out.
Great finished product. Fits its space well and looks like it was always meant to be there. Loving this build, can't wait to see what you do to line out and tidy the bunker
So as a follow up to the offer for real elevator buttons, are you interested or planning to make it more automated? Like press the button once and it run down and stop on its own and vice versa to have it come up? I don’t have a property like you to carry out all this fun so living through you. BTW, I def think you can take the channel full time, I think you are on your way.
Yes what Doug said above. Very interesting and can't wait to see what's next.
Way too many possible problems with that. Imagine the elevator going up while the hatch is closed, you would get crushed by it.
Well you have to add some other switches for making sure the door is in an acceptable position, for making sure there is nothing under it, etc.
Super entertaining! I love how much easier, cheaper, more convenient, more reliable, faster, and safer the elevator is rather than just replacing the stairs.

Entertainment value - 98%
Practical value - 2%
I remember the first video that you made when you first opened the bomb shelter and the two of you went down there and investigated it. I don't even remember how long ago that was. But I'm glad to see you finally have made some progress and have gotten an elevator system in there so that you can get up and down safely. And I can tell how much you love your wife because of the fact that you are constantly zeroing in on her butt. Only a man that is in love and very attracted does that.
Thanks Wayne! We have a ton of fun, she's pretty grand.
Looks like the floor could use a bit of bleaching. I love your creative ingenuity!!. Great elevator!
Y’all really know how to make an uplifting video entertaining.
wow big job, thank god the dog was helping you two
Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭🙏🏼👏🏼
That's good idea man!👏🏼
36:51 it all comes to pass. Your elaborate scheme to trap a pretty lady worked! SUCCESS!
I got her!
Crazy, I'm going to have to watch this. Thanx for the entertainment
Excellant job keeping the wifes butt in focus. Thank you!
Your angle grinder safety is amazing!!!!
looks pretty cool....totally jealous. now I need to buy a big shovel to make one under my man cave/work shed
Subscribed!.. let's get this party started!
Man what an awesome can crusher. Had to subscribe for this one. Great assistant you have.
Just found this channel. I appreciate the honest camera angles and attention to the build. I will stick around for more uploads.
Never knew there were elevator themed Lornos before this. The plot was interesting, the characters were cheesy, but tasteful. The wife character was believable in her role and gave an excellent performance. The husband character was semi-believable as a builder. Performance withstanding of course! I learned, I laughed and I cried that the end came too soon. lol jk Great video Herb, your wife is a gem! Looking forward to the next half of this build project!
I JUST found u...u ARE a genius. I'm HAPPY to.follpw and learn. Thank u. VERY talented Friend
Why was I so amused watching this? 😂😂 The music with the spider doing it's moves had me laughing way too much. Lmao. New sub here. 👍
This guy knows why I clicked that thumbnail! Bow Chicka Bow Wow!
DUDEZILLA! I LOOOOOOOOOVE your 'recaps'! I laugh out loud A LOT when I watch your videos! THANKS DUDE!
You're welcome Andy, thanks for checking this insanity out!
when you're a dreamer it's good to have someone around who can always see the potential for failure.
Herb, I wish you were my Neighbor. You are hilarious and very creative. Thumbs up, Way Up !
Some golden god energy at the end there with the short shorts
Your continuous humor throughout the video was awesome! 😂😎✌️Very cool project. Well done sir!
OSAH has left the group chat. This is one long video about why women live longer than men and the thoughts that run through men's heads... Also it's amazing the effect the different colors of shirts have on her hair color, bringing out different notes with each change.
May I suggest also that you install a limit switch of some sort that will stop the lift if it rises under the lid while it is closed since otherwise it could just go squish and or crunch.
The music every time a Butt appears is hilarious!!!
And there was even Lotion in the basket i mean bucket!!! Haha
What a great creation, very well done!
At the end now and wow that place is actually huge!!! Holy smoke a bathroom also. I’m looking forward to what you do with this. Sorry for so many comments and good luck.
I can't wait to see what we do with it! I think it's going to be an awesome speakeasy and shelter
Absolutely love this channel and you two. Made my day watching this. I swear not twice.
Also turns out I get addicted to your channel I've been checking it numerous times a day in hopes a new video will appear.
Would love to stop by one of these days and see this thing in person.
Had to pause video at 7:54 to comment. This editing has me cracking up. Nice job.
Loving this project and love watching your videos lovely couple
Sweet video, man, I was trying to climb through the screen to help you get the lift into its home , nice job, looking foward to this build 👏!! See ya next time!!
Preserving history right here.
I just found this channel, and I binge watched all the uploads, and your content and humour are 🔥!! My new favourite channel!!
nice job on redo, id suggest more runs on elevator so u can use as a emergency ladder if power goes out, id love that in my back yard lol...
I love your assistant, oh yeah the wife to.lol. the posable things that you you can do with your bunker, you can have a slumber party for the two of you or a small get together with friends or family. But it's also important to have the bunker for all the crazy things happening now days. I would put the dog house on it,or build a shed around it to hide it and make sure you have ventilation pipes and a bio air pump and water back up to. Keep enough food down there like 25 year life storage food. But it's cool to have something like that in your backyard, along with your wife to keep you company so you don't get scared. Lol
my first herb-o-matic video...subscribed. Love the sense of humor.
Ya know what this means now, right?
Elevator hanky-panky! Cue the booty music...
Sorry, couldn't resist.
As soon as the 2x4 went down inside; I just knew it was gonna be in the way - it's part of the laws of physics, you know! Same as: if you dropped buttered toast, it will ALWAYS hit the floor or dirt butter side down!!!
Really enjoying the series - thanks for sharing.
You're right on all accounts! That damn board went straight under it!
Your sense of humor elevated this video to a whole new level 😏
Very cool! But, you should've made the gate like the one on the lift in the engine room of Enterprise, where you just raised a bar to close it. But this is very cool! Now, get that mess cleaned out, and start moving some arcade machines, and a wet bar in there! Thanks for the video! :)
I've ridden alot of elevators in my life, it's cool to see how the pros install them. Be sure to upload installs into office buildings, curious to how you do it. 👍
Say what?!?
I think maybe he is misunderstanding!!! 😂😂😂
My Grandma use to say “Have a nice trip?” “See you next Fall!” That part cracked me up. Excellent series and very entertaining. Keep up the great content and commentary.
Gave a for using wife as a "Thirst TRAP" on the video. 🤗
4:50 mark, humor abound! Number 1 tip for every man out there!
Lol, there's a little truth in each joke!
Amazing build!
Now add a safety switch to the elevator "door" so it has to be closed when operating the elevator. Also a safety switch if the elevator door frame hits the closed/ partially closed hatch. There is enough space between the upper edge of the elevator door and the platform for a person, so if it stops then its no problem. Put a ladder into the elevator shaft in case the elevator fails.
Cool wife. Cool elevator. Thumbs up.
Thanks Ed!
I don't know how much hoped she was for you both those close-ups of her Were definitely a help for me lol
Games room...gotta be a games room with pool table and a mini bar with seating...imagine how cool that would be 😁
love the chemistry between you and your wife. absolutely hilarious! Cool video, though. great idea for the elevator and how you created it. the lotion in the bucket made me laugh so hard! Definitely couldn't pass up that opportunity.
She's pretty funny, we have a great time! Thanks Codemunkies!
I enjoy your sense of humor, and the project!
Thank you for a wonderful example of marriage and adventure
We have a ton of fun! Thanks for that!
This guy is a good videographer.empty it and tile the hole thing would be killer
Your commentary is hilarious.. Great work Man!!!!!!!
Thank you! I'll keep at it TTT!
Best shorts EVER!! Seriously though, your making skills kick so much ass!
You need to put up down controls at the top and bottom of the elevator to clean out the bunker. Fun
This series came up as a recommend watch. It looked interesting and it's been funny and exciting since. Can't wait to see how it turns out. I'm hooked! Great Channel 👍
That into/recap was phenomenal 😂😂😂.
Very cool. If you really wanna make it extra I would install a drag chain for the remote and a end stop so the elevator doesnt go up if the hatch isnt opened. Fantastic
Holy cow I'm impressed and jealous! And your elevator's cool, too! 😉😂 The original builder(s) jaw(s) would drop if they could see what you have done!
