    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING HOW YOU INSTALLED the catalyst. ONE THING can you show how the dome guard is installed because mine came off. Thanks. Please do an update. ASAP!

    Mine is missing completely and cover. I've been using it every year since I moved in with out a issue. Should I buy one lol it sounds like it lol. It just keeps the silt down right?

    So.. if its dead of winter and ypur gasket is donezo what do you do? Can you leave it after cleaning? Not sure if mine is bad as im waiting for it to cool but if it is i doubt i can get a replacement soon where i live. And its below 10° for a while if not in negative... IF my gasket is bad could i do my best to put it back and itll be okay till i can replace it? Will that do more harm?

      Your gasket isn't bad but it will crumble when you try to remove it. You will need a replacement if you decide to take it out. If you use it without the gasket you will lose efficiency.

    Great video, thank you for making it. I was a little confused - mostly because I couldn’t see the area behind the catalyst that had to be rearranged. I think they are some plates on the side?
    Can you list where you bought your gasket for the catalyst?

      I get the gasket direct from Blaze King and resell it.

    I couldn’t go more than 2 weeks without the catalyst plugging up, it was a royal pain when the stove would start smoking, eventually I took it out altogether and it didn’t effect the operation at all

    Hey, in serious long term outage, i”d wa t to cut back the air shield on my BK King. Any suggestion on that? Thanks, lg

      Stoves should never be modified as it voids certification.

    Anyone know how long the cats last on the blaze kings and if there's a way to make them if say the company goes under or stops making them later for any reason? With that said, anyone know if these are even less efficient than an old school stove with the cat bypass engaged? Wonder what kind of burn times it gets with vs without the cat? What kind of temps could I expect with it cranked all the way down low? Keep wondering if I could get a bigger stove and get way longer burn times and still working the cat efficiently for a well insulated 1200 sq ft house. Thanks for any insight as it will be greatly appreciated

      BK offers a 10 year warranty on the cat that comes with the stove if you fill out the warranty card. There are other companies who make replacement cats.... your concerns are valid but aren't any different then if you buy a secondary air stove and need to replace air tubes or baffle. Neither type of stove will work very good if they don't have the proper components as designed.

      @@tinmaninc2023 jeez, wish I'd gotten this response a couple days ago. I literally just ordered a secondary air yesterday. Thanks for the info though. Now I'm kinda sad cause I was wanting that slow low burn capability of the catalytic. Kept wandering if a big catalytic stove could burn clean enough low and slow but I've had contradicting responses. Not sure if any of them actually tried it. I've seen some saying they burn clean and the cat stays hot even cranked down which would be amazing and a huge plus if so! You ever tried it before? Also see claims you can't brush a cat and vacuuming don't work good enough to just have it pro cleaned. I'd like to know how the "pros" clean it then. Is there a solution which you can soak it in? Would love to hear any experience with this! Thanks a ton for the info! I may have to buy a cat stove and resell this one when it comes in before using it. I purchased an Englander 32NC but now wondering how that compares to the BK for burn times and maintenance. I thought it'd be more maintenance free.

      @@jackle842000 Check out my first video where I remove the cat from a stove. Vacuuming and brushing works, no pros needed for that. You cannot soak the cat and don't really need to.

      @@tinmaninc2023 I seen the videos of such but I've seen a ton of info claiming you can NOT brush them as it removes prescious metals which ruins the efficacy of the catalyst. If so then how you supposed to clean it? This is why I've been in search of the how to clean one the correct way. Or is there some special type of brush? Thanks

    Soo you took it out because it had been in there a few years....that implies it wasn't working well, so you inspected and re-installed?

    • @tinmaninc2023
      @tinmaninc2023  2 роки тому

      We took it out after a customer called and wasn't sure on the process. That was the perfect opportunity to do this video. I would recommend doing this once a year when you do your annual cleaning.
