  • My health was a mess years ago. I wanted my life back. Here I share my health transformation spanning a couple decades - from the standard garbage American diet, to low carb, keto and then to carnivore - I've currently done 60 days carnivore. I am no longer in constant severe pain. This is my health journey.
Although many people try carnivore for weight loss, many others are on it for autoimmune conditions, mental health issues and to help heal G.I. problems. I hope this video inspires some people, or starts a conversation. Let me know if you have any questions at all.
The low carb, keto and carnivore communities online are super supportive.
Thank you so much for watching - Holly.

It's amazing how Carnivore helps make you look younger also. She is 41 and looks like she is her late 20's. I'm a 49 year old guy myself and have been getting looks from 20 years olds. I've lost over 80.pounds. I started out on Keto, then switched to Carnivore. (From 240 to now 156 pounds in a little over 6 months) ...

I have been on keto for two weeks now and haven’t seen any changes in my body. But I do notice my mind and mood is much better and I have a lot of energy and sleep better. However, if you are saying that the carnivore diet cures ugliness as well, then I am IN!!!!

@@LifeDIYI agree, your hair is fabulous! I noticed my hair stopped falling out 5 months into doing fairly strict carnivore. Now, I'm wondering if my natural golden brunette color will return (to replace all these silver strands) if I give it time and maybe even add a copper supplement? I've seen people commenting that they got their natural color back.

@@LifeDIY I would definitely talk to a doctor before you do anything, but trace minerals can have a positive effect on thyroid issues. Selenium and iodine are particularly helpful. However, you only need a tiny amount of it for a therapeutic effect, and it can be a tricky thing to find the amount that works best for you. I don't have thyroid issues, but I do have a slightly overactive thyroid, and Selenium helps calm things down a bit. Iodine had the opposite effect on me and made my heart beat faster, so that was a short lived experiment 😅
I've noticed lately that a lot of people who heard about the carnivore diet and decided to jump on it without doing any prior research, aren't aware that they risk becoming deficient in vitamin C (from fruits, tiny amount in eggs), Folic Acid or B9 (leafy greens, also a smaller amount in eggs) which affects nerves, as well as hair, skin and nails. And to make things even more complicated, the fat in egg whites inhibits the absorption of Biotin or vitamin B7, which leads to hair loss if you become deficient in it.
All of these things can be found in liver and organ meats, but I imagine most people, like me aren't too keen on eating that - so Vitamin C should be supplemented, eggs should at least be consumed occasionally in order to avoid B9 deficiency, and if people on the carnivore diet are experiencing hair loss, a likely solution to that issue is to consume some egg yolk without the egg white - because egg yolks provide Biotin which is necessary to maintain healthy hair follicles, but the egg white inhibits the absorption of it and can cause deficiency. I'm putting this here, because I wish I had known about the egg white issue when I started on the diet and began eating A LOT of ground beef + eggs after I got tired of eating steaks every day. I had no clue what was going on when I started losing more hair than usual, all of a sudden. It was never really an issue for me, but it could've become one if I had ignored it and kept eating so much eggs with the egg white in it.
I know some people hate the idea of taking supplements, but vegans and vegetarians have to take a ton of supplements derived from animal foods, and carnivores have to take some as well, unless they're willing to eat liver every once in a while. Personally, I'd rather supplement with vitamin C.

Here is the summary of the video:
    - She has been eating a carnivore diet for 60 days to improve health issues.
    - In her 20s/30s, she had many health problems from carbon monoxide poisoning including GI issues, sleep problems, migraines, back/arm pain, and limping.
    - She started improving her health by eliminating gluten and dairy which helped significantly.
    - Over the years she transitioned to lower carb and lower sugar which further improved her health.
    - She shows before/after photos indicating less facial inflammation and puffiness after diet changes.
    - Her brother's health transformation on carnivore inspired her to try it. She wanted to improve her thyroid issues.
    - Transitioning was challenging with intense hunger and waking at 3am initially. This got better over time.
    - While much healthier now, she still deals with fatigue and wants to heal her thyroid.
    - She plans to continue carnivore for longer than 60 days to see if it can help improve her thyroid and energy levels.
In summary, she explains her health journey and decision to try the carnivore diet to address remaining health issues like thyroid problems and fatigue.

Thank you for your service. I am a 78 y.o. Veteran who began Carnivore on Jan. 7, 2023. I can't tell you what issues may have been resolved; probably pain. I am disabled due to Scoliosis. Have High Blood Pressure. About a year and a half ago the VA put me on a blood pressure medication which the side effects were weight gain and leg swelling. I put on about 40 pounds in less than 60 days. Was over 200 for the first time ever. Haven't lost any weight. Need to be at around 160 which is where I was when running marathons; ran my last one at age 65.

Thanks for your video and viewpoints. Glad to hear that things are much better. We generally have to take control of our life to take the time to try and experience what works best. What is most shocking is all the garbage advice that food companies trainers and health professionals have given that helps trip us up from healthy eating. What was not told us was how many politicians and food companies have messed with studies and sometimes even outright lied to promote their own food for their own profit. Sadly a number of doctors have been bought off too. We have had to wade through a lot of garbage to get helpful accurate advice. Another thing is that now we are starting to get a lot of credible doctors warning us about harmful effects of things such as grains and vegetables.
The carnivore lifestyle is the easiest way to depend on time proven food for genuine health.

    • @LifeDIY
      @LifeDIY  9 місяців тому

Thanks, David! I am a fan of both keto and carnivore. It's so true about credible doctors coming forward to speak about nutrition nowadays and in that way, I love that we have platforms for them (like UA-cam). Unfortunately it seems that many platforms may start taking more action to suppress this type of open information. I would rather hear all kinds of arguments for or against things - vegan, keto, etc. than YT or Google trying to determine what we are allowed to hear about.

Thank you for making this video. Probably wrote to much here, BUT, if anyone has ever been Extremely Healthy like I was, to being placed on disability just this year, well, I think someone out there may relate. I just went on SSDI disability earlier this year, and 1/2 the symptoms you shared you have, I have right now, low energy, migraines, no sleep, severe pain in my arm, and the middle of my upper back, and so many more; but no energy is the worse which is really annoying for me being I used to willingly work 14 hour day's, now I have barely enough energy to get out of bed. I do force myself to do at least one productive thing a day, but none of us should be this tired in this stage of life. I started the Carnivore diet a year ago after watching Mikhaila Perterson podcast about her journey, but honestly fell back into sugar about 3 week's in. And I agree with what you stated, my research shows, there is just NO WAY that ANYONE can learn the benefits unless they try it for At Least 3 month's, if not 6 month's, seriously. Anyhow I just recently, 2 week's ago, I just committed to doing it for one year to see if I notice and feel the difference you and so many other's I have watched say they are experiencing, it really would be like a miracle which I've never experienced. lol (Steak and Butter Gal) is another Great Informative channel as well as Mikhaila's, that I just watched about 7 hour's of over this past weekend, that is really helping me understand what we all may go through during the change of our diets to a full on Carnivore diet. Anyhow, pretty cool her channel brought me to yours here. PS: I thought you were around 20 year's old, until you stated you're 41. It has to be doing something great, you really do look amazing. My face is puffy, and caved in, and I have no energy, so it's nice to see through your video here, with you also having been on disability, that there actually may be some real Hope & Energy just by changing my diet. Hope you have some fun with your new journey. - BC

Many health improvements. Just a shame that we have been lied to all our lives! I just whish I had billions of dollars so I could afford to sue everyone for all the lies throughout my life. When I was in my early 40's I wish I knew more about diet and more specifically carb intake. Our hormones start to become erratic in our 40's and it's best to develop good eating habits before peri-menopause. I suffered a lot with high sugar and dropping hormone levels. @@LifeDIY Holly, you are gorgeous! Thank you so much for the compliment! That photo was taken last November after a 90 day transformation challenge. I lost 22 pounds and got down to 11% body fat (from 18%). The thing was, I felt like crap. I didn’t start the carnivore lifestyle until the end of July. I wasn’t eating enough fat to feel well but now I feel I’m eating TOO much fat. Still learning what my body wants to feel it’s best. I was also eating TONS of vegetables which left me constantly feeling bloated and gassy. You can’t really tell by the angle of the photo, but I was bloated there too! Just a few days into carnivore, the bloating and gas were GONE 🙌🏼 I’m hoping to lose some of the fat I regained and put on more muscle. 💪🏼😊 Excited to watch you learn, grow, and thrive❣️🥩

Shayna, thank you. You look amazing! Have you thought about doing a youtube channel? When you mentioned doing a 90 day transformation challenge, I immediately thought it would be a great video. I'd love to see that. That's incredible you got down to 11% body fat. But, not good if you felt terrible. I'm just curious, how tall are you? I can relate to all these issues with balancing out how much fat you need. I never did that right on keto or when I was very low carb. I think it gets harder when you have burned off all your body fat. Have you had any sleep issues? I'm having a problem again now. I seem to only get 6 hours of sleep. Today I woke up at 3 AM! :) Have you had this before? And, I'm happy for you with the next goals you have. I need more muscles too! :)

Hi Holly! I’m flattered that you would suggest that I start up a UA-cam channel, you’re so sweet. Perhaps after a few years of being ketovore (still using my not-so-healthy creamer in my morning coffee), I’ll become a fit 50 year old meat based bodybuilder to show people it can be done 💪🏼😁🥩 I’ve always dreamed of becoming “stage lean” but not doing a show. Not my thing to get judged on how I look. Just for ME. I’m 5’8” and about 150 pounds right now. I got down to 135 at the end of that challenge but feel my best around 140-145. Not too far off. I’ve felt better these last few days by omitting the extra fat I was eating. Instead of adding ghee and having a serving of coconut butter for dessert 🫣 I just go with the fat that’s in the meat. I feel it’s enough for me, for now anyway.
Sleep issues? Yes! For quite some time actually. I usually get up between 3-4 am! Of course I’m usually in bed by 8/8:30, but I know I’m not getting enough. It’s a mental thing mostly. I want plenty of time to read my devotionals, have my coffee, and do a few things around the house before I leave for spin class. I have 2 kids in high school. My daughter is 15 and my son is 16. I like getting my workout in before they even wake up 🙂
What branch of the military were you in? I was active duty Air Force from 1997-2001 then I did a few years in the NY Air National Guard. It’s great talking to you and getting to know you! 🫡 Now I need to watch all your videos!!!

I’m sorry that happened to you. I’m glad you figured it out. I find that foods can be healing or hurtful as well as hidden molds, water damage, to root canal and breast implants. I wish their was a detector for mold but it’s a slow release if is a slow leak. Anyways good video and I’m glad your spreading awareness 😊 I’ve been carnivore for over a year now. I do have some chocolate, coffee, black tea and some supplements but for the most part I am. It’s been very healing for me. Prior to trying this I should mention I ate very clean. Very low processed, no fast foods, bad sugars etc.

    • @LifeDIY
      @LifeDIY  8 місяців тому

Thank you for sharing this! It's so true what you mentioned about other hidden dangers. Mold is a really bad one and I too wish it was easier to detect. It is shocking how fast mold grows and spreads. I had a water softener leak months ago and within a day we had mold growing in so many places in that small room. I had to tear out flooring, drywall and some framing. I still need to repair it. Definitely need to spread awareness on all of these things. Also, it's wonderful to hear that you're doing well eating carnivore!

I don't think that is shows it on camera for me, but I am right there with you. I am 5'2 and around 102+/-. I absolutely don't want to lose any weight either. I would prefer to get more fit and gain some muscle tone. So I will see how this goes. I may have only lost 1 lb from doing this, but weight fluctuates so much that I don't really count that. I think it's because I was already pretty low carb, or because I am probably eating more now. I'll see what happens. I want to heal my stomach more and then I can see what to do after that as I'd like to use this as a real elimination diet. :) I hope you have a great weekend!

Thank you! Even if you don't do full carnivore, it's alright! Many people start out by cutting out gluten, then eventually doing keto. Keto can be so healthy too. All the little improvements can make a big difference and before you know it, you'll stop having any cravings! I've noticed that so often we turn to snacks when hungry, when we'd be a lot healthier by replacing that with a meal - just some eggs, bacon, etc. I didn't realize I was often doing that in the past. You should check out Dr. Cywes on youtube - he has such excellent content on keto and carnivore.

I felt better, but the blood tests were just as bad as before. So out of desperation i started carnivore 3 weeks ago. So far I feel so much better. I also bought a red light (mitored adapt) because the red light "studies" had some really promising results on thyroid.

Hi Holly. Great video. I have been doing carnivore ish on and off for past 3 years. One thing I noticed is at one point the body odor went away and I didn't need to wear deodorant. Now that I might have some vegetables every now and then, sometimes I notice some body odor forming depending on what I eat. Fruit doesn't seem to create a problem for me as long as I don't eat too much.
You might want to include some bone broth made the old fashioned way so it has both collagen and gelatinized protein in it which will help your gut as well as your skin and hair.

I've been on a health journey too after struggling with IBS, gallbladder, and adrenal gland issues so your content is very helpful to me. I've cut carbs and gluten and you are right it helps so much! The thing I'm still struggle with is inflammation in my face like you had. I've been diagnosed with Rosacea and adult acne. I'm eating really clean, I just don't know why it's not going away? I'm hoping the carnivore diet will help.
With regard to your thyroid, I've heard foods with vitamin B12, D and Iodine help and stay away from foods with soy, sodium, walnuts, and all the processed seed oils. You probably know all this, but maybe there's something there that can help.
Looking forward to your next video. Keep up the good work! Subscribed!

Hi Dave! Thank you for such a nice comment. I really hope your issues improve. You mentioned adrenal issues and I can relate to that. Have you ever done a DUTCH Complete test? It's how I discovered some issues with cortisol years back. I am about to do the test again this week. It's so comprehensive and will also tell you about all your hormone levels. If you're ever thinking of doing the test, you can get it at DHA Labs online, they are about $150 cheaper than other sites.
Whenever people have issues with their skin like rosacea and acne, I immediately think about dairy as the problem. I've seen family members dealing with acne and it's crazy how quickly they get breakouts after eating dairy. Many people don't even consider it, if they aren't lactose intolerant. I think many people find that it's a cause of their skin issues once they cut it out, but it's hard for people to do that. Maybe you already have though? :) Doing this carnivore experiment has been helpful for me to realize different sensitivities and to become more aware of my habits. I also think that just doing keto (without the terrible processed keto products) can be incredible for health. Thanks for the tips for the thyroid! And thanks for subscribing! 🙏

Holly, thanks for all the great info! I'm doing much better with everything except my face, oh the shame! I cut dairy several years ago, except for Ice cream late at night, BUT... in moderation ;) You could be right about the dairy so I'm going to cut it. Deep breath, exhale.
I don't recal hearing about the DUTCH test, but to be honest I took so many tests and never got a clear answer. I've lost faith in the mainstream greed care industry. I won't rant, but I want to. So, I try to find resources I can trust (like your channel) and learn what I can and adjust my diet accordingly and take key supplements. Also, leaving a high stress job I hated and starting a home base business I love has been a necessary part of my improvement, especially for my adrenal glands.
I will checkout DHA Labs! It seems like a great resource. I like the idea of going direct to a lab and not having a middle man (aka Dr.) There's a respected Holistic DO in my area, but it's hard to get in.
      Sorry for the long message.
Thanks again for all your help! God bless!

Thought I'd post an update on the results of going mostly carnivore the past 3 months. It's been a absolute Game Changer! I've dropped 15 lbs, my Rosacea and acne are 90% gone. I've tested eating sugar, carbs, and dairy and find it's about portion control. If I were to cut them out 100% my Rosacea and acne would probably go away completely. But for me it's hard to be 100% carnivore, and having a diet that has enough variety is important so I can stick with it. I haven't done any blood work because the results have been enough to validate the diet.
I recommend if you have any health or even mental health conditions or know someone who is, research carnivore and give it a try. Be willing to stick with it for at least 3 months. So many are seeing great results. This is a great channel for education, also Dr Ken Berry.

Wauw, i never knew Kerry was/is your brother 😍. I have been doing Carnivore for my Sibo treatment. I had the insomnia too, that is why is stopped, because i am dealing with long covid symptoms. Tried to eat some fat before bedtime, did not worked for me :). So pleased to see you doing Carnivore ❤️. I would love to know what you did for treating your Sibo? Lots of love from the Netherlands 🫂

I feel like this is a small world, thanks to UA-cam! I'm so happy you commented! For SIBO, it's something I was diagnosed with a few years ago, though ia accidentally added it to my list of issues from ages ago. I didn't take the doc's treatment of antibiotics as I was worried about side effects. I ended up using candibactin AR and candibactrin BR - two supplements to help with treating it. I took them for about 8 months - so a long time! At that time I was eating low carb.
I think by eating carnivore, you'll quickly clear the bacteria out of the stomach. I think it can be done with low carb too. Even if mine is currently not detectable (ie: no overgrowth of bacteria) I don't think that means it's healed yet. I've heard it can take quite some time to repair the stomach after SIBO. I was just watching a video by a doctor talking about this, but I can't seem to find the link. I still can't tolerate most vegetables. Do you have that too? That's why I will continue doing this for a while longer. I am sorry you had the sleep issues too. I keep waking up so early now - 4:45 AM or 5:00 AM. What happened with your sleep? And, I am sorry you're dealing with long covid symptoms too. I cannot imagine. Sending you love from Wisconsin! 🌲🙏

Carnivore is such a great choice for overall health. You really had a long list of health problems. So glad you found Carnivore.

    • @LifeDIY
      @LifeDIY  9 місяців тому

Thank you so much, Kipp! For me, most of my long list of issues were solved by going low carb (gluten and dairy free) over time. But, I am hoping to continually improve and I've learned a lot from carnivore so far. I just wanted to share that because for some people it's really hard to go full carnivore or full elimination diet. So even if they can remove certain things one at a time, that's better than nothing and can make a big difference!

Thanks for the encouragement 😁 I'm 17 days into ketovore and I really needed this inspiration. I have very little energy at the moment, I'm waiting for my body to get used to the fat metabolism.

Thank you for sharing this! I'm sorry to hear about the low energy. You know, I went through this as well when I was adapting to carnivore, but it would fluctuate, so I stuck with it. I think ketovore is such a great way to eat and it's so incredibly healthy and less restrictive than carnivore. Did you eat keto prior to this?

I just got to the part of the video where you said who your bro is. I can't wait til the documentary is finished. I have been a carnivore for 1 year now. It's the absolute best thing I've ever done for myself. Does that mean you're also in Wisconsin? Hello from Milwaukee. I hope to make the drive to go to your bro's theater and hope to get the chance to chat with him sometime

Hey Eric! I used to live in Milwaukee too. I'm way up north now, but still (barely) in Wisconsin. That's great if you can make it to the theater sometime!

@@LifeDIY I was just driving up around the UP a few weeks ago. I was helping my sister pick up a car from my aunt's land in Escanaba. It is so beautiful up there! My son wants to go back to the Kids Kingdom playground again in Gladstone. I'm thinking we'll wait for good swimming weather for that though.
