I took the spare tires off of mine then made a foam "bumper" to go across the back where the tires were. With the weight off the back it handles much better when you have more weight distribution on the front end. Then I cut a bit over a quarter inch out of the front and back wheel wells to get more travel for the shocks. Added oil filled shocks. Installed wider tires from a broken 1/16 MJX truck. It is a fun little truck to rip and bash.
@@danialshahla8251 I never did a speed test on it but I would imagine it might gain a mile or two per hour faster. The main thing I liked about removing the spare tires is that it doesn't wheelie so easily and it handles better because you get more weight on the front tires. Plus I have seen the spare tires can end up breaking off fairly easily if you get too aggressive with it anyways. Of all my smaller RC vehicles this is the one I run the most!

@@danialshahla8251 I use a 2s battery in mine and I find it is plenty fast enough in High speed mode. I probably use med more than high. Depends on how I am driving it I guess. It will be fast in 3s! Have fun if you get one! I am charging a battery right now!!
Thank you for the review. I ended up buying two of these. I can see where the oil filled shocks would be better. I have no trouble with the steering at all. I clocked mine at 33 mph on the high setting. I rarely use the high setting as it's to fast for the little wheel base. Mid and low speed work great for me. So much so I'm planning on getting a Red and Blue brushed versions so I can setup a little race track.
Maybe you should take that car and slowly upgrade it after each track run. First time some laps stock, then add oil shocks and a lap, then a better servo and lap, then maybe a new body with more clearance.

It's an interesting little truck. They spent a lot of time on the looks of the truck and the durability of the body and much less time on the handling performance. That is a very scenic track location.
I have one. Oil-filled shocks are a must. Transforms the truck for an extra $15-20. Make sure you go thru and check/tighten all the screws, use Loctite where necessary. The steering arm screws back out and go walkies. Apart from that and damaging 2 wheels after a full-speed crash into a curb (Handy the Q130 comes with spare 2 wheels) it has been a fun and pretty quick truck running 2s. Might try 3s on the weekend, which will be super rapid!
It’s funny , when SCY started making this platform of rc’s a little over a year ago, they were brushed only, and sold with oil filled shocks as an option. A few months later they stopped that option thing and went with the boinger shocks on everything with no option. I think these are great little bashers brushed or brushless trim. I had no issues with steering and have definitely had much worse. Steering felt fine , but I don’t run a lot of high end stuff to pamper my senses!😂 I think some foam in the tires should be added as well. Other than that, I can live with the sort of “ cartooney” look of it. I think they should follow MJX and Rlaarlo, and listen to the consumer! I’m getting 46mph with 3s with mine and the motor/esc is medium warm at best. Even though we differ on a few things it was a great review!👊🏼💯🙌🏼😃🍻
My ESC gets hot and that's running 2s high setting. How do I know? Well I bloody burn my finger everytime when fiddling around under the body to press the on/off switch which is right next to the hot ESC heatsink!
I think I’ve said a few times… their ‘pre sale’ prices are worth it. But once they go to normal RRP then it’s little too expensive. As for quality they are decent… no worse than some of the bigger manufacturers

Keep in mind when the wltoys came out it could be purchased for WAY CHEAPER 👌 than nowadays, which bring the question of quality vs price and at $80usd (back then and $150 if You purchase 2) I can't conceive paying $200 for essentially the same car, maybe if it had better plastics perhaps but a carbon chassis and brushless setup cant justify the price. I'm sure the RLAARLO is good as you are enjoying yours, is it twice as good tho? You be the judge of that.

Yes the handling and control over bumps is much improved with oil shocks. Other than that I wouldn't spend anymore money on it. There are better RC cars for not much more money

Mate help something happened to my JJRC battery.. I bought new JJRC but it is not moving backward or forward but yes the steering works, it turns left and right but the light of the RC flashes continously which is a sign of battery mal fucntion, Now what should i do?

I have both mjx hyper go and this orange cars chassis..both are awesome cars imo..hypergo is a lot slower on 2s stock battery..but hypergo on 3s is over 40 mph and motor and esc stay cool...

I bought this last night on Banggood. I paid 121.37$A. Bad? I mean you got me nervous but replacing the shocks and maybe trimming the body or finding an alternative option. The only other test I am interested in is your skate park endurance test. Also the comparison seems skewed, since your comparing a short course with a rally option. The worst thing is the Philips head screws. Oh and did you diagnose the terrible steering? Love your work!
It can be made better, I’ve already done it to a the ‘Jeep’ ish body one. But as an RTR there is better out there. I was more comparing it to MJX’s MT (shown in the picture). The Rally car was all I had to hand
i received from alibaba esc damaged it doesn't go left or right nether backward or forward it only go crazy alone sometimes and go forward alone! i dont know if i pay on it to change the esc and the controller what do you think it is worth it to pay 60$ on it to drive it ?
Oil filled shocks and a better servo got it. I’d pick one of these up second hand and just throw in some spare shocks I got laying around and a better servo and hand it to someone who’s trying to get into rc as a gift

Come on, It's a beast and a wheelie king. It's absurd to compare it to the MJK lancia. I love mine but yeah... It has friction shocks and an integrated esc/receiver, no motor or esc fan... In that sense it's lacking compared to mjx's and wltoys buggies. The body wheel arcs are not a big issue, just trim them!
I got one on a Temu advertisement for $11.10 USD after tax. Got some friend invitation bundle thing and I just used my mom's phone and one of my other emails and it was true 😂 Payed $8 and something before tax, free shipping, $11.10 after taxes for the brushless one. I'm pretty sure it's not a scam because of Temu being somewhat reputable in terms of that aspect. But I'm still kinda skeptical 😂 11$ for a dang $150 rc car just because I "shared with a friend" 😂

@@Solrak8O maybe running it in the grass? That will definitely increase temperature. When I ran mine on 3s I was on pavement and sand only.
@BangForYourBuckRc It's the middle of summer here in Oz so running with 30 degree c + would definitely contribute to the high temps!

I own one and I suggest you change the screws on the the steering. Mine fell off...so I put on M2 bolts and nuts. Helps the steering.

I resolved the body / tire clearance by changing out the body shell to a more narrower one.
