The best part about this repair is no capacitors needed replacing; just a flaky surface-mounted component was eventually found to be the culprit. Once again, the technician's best friend "Mr. Acetone" makes a brief appearance. 😎Hopefully another happy customer as well! 👍👍
Interesting one that, and one that would flummox a lot of techs I'm sure - i don't associate weird intermittent problems with voltage regulators. That's why you're a pro and I'm just a tinkerer 😁
I have a HTR-3067 , I'm having a constant audio buzzing , coming from all the speakers, decreasing the front panel dimmer light lower the buzzing but I can decrease down to -4 only, I wouldn't mind to even turn off completely the front display light to get rid of this buzzing.
I have an RX-A2010 that has a similar issue where the display gets sort of garbled after loud volumes until I restart the unit. Do you think it's having a similar issue?
I bought the exact same receiver, faulty as well, for 25€ It would not turn on and go to protect mode, due to an incorrect power supply rail voltage I managed to byoass that security by adding a 10k resistor from the monitoring rail to ground, and it now works fine, except for analog video, but I don't really care about it honestly Maybe I'll try to find another board, but that doesn't seem to be an easy task...

Amazing that you diagnosed that tiny regulator for the IC.
I usually check first for visual problems then check for proper voltage. Nice work!
Another great repair video! I always enjoy your repairs!

Great repair! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
Lovely repair =D
Thanks 🙏 Brother...
great work
Good that you could replace the chip without the usual AV receiver total tear down just for a simple part swap! 😄
Well, I guess when you use the word “virgin” in your video you get some of these nonsense comments 🤦♂️. Great work as always!

What fluid you use to clean off the flux?
Acetone

So if you did not have the IC you needed meant not fixable?...
I may have used a fixed voltage regulator if I could not get the exact IC as replacement.
