piano plastic on LCD surround and even worse the exterior trim around the windows, roof rails, rear window side spoiler and the bumper detail above the 'exhaust'. so not all great.
Agree. Anyway it’s still a lot. What’s durability of gloss outside - no idea. Zeitgeist with that piano black unfortunately. Some clients like it, it seems, but I haven’t seen any of those :)

As a Cupra Ateca owner I would say I really like the new Cupra Terramar! I'm not sure the base 1.5 TSI would be enough for this size, but the PHEV and the 2.0 TSI could be a good choice. Can't wait to see this in the showroom.
@@Hoss1618 In do agree on matrix LED, matrix LED is otherwise pretty old technology. And probably more safety features. For the interior there is just too much cost savings for my opinion. In this segment they could do much much better. Plus I have a big problem with that most of those features are selectable options. You will see lots and lots of these cars without many safety features and without matrix LED. This should all be standard.
Hmm, looks good, but the 265HP are a letdown for me personally. Why didn't they use the 333HP Version for the top VZ? There will be no Tiguan R, so people could get this instead.
Don't imagine it will do well against the Formentor if it's more expensive, lacks a 300+hp engine option, still no ventilated seats, no nappa leather, no massage seats. How is it more luxurious to justify the higher price? Especially if it's barely bigger, Cupra needs a 4m70 option with the 5 pot engine and proper luxurious options imo they're just worried to take too many sales from Audi :D
It is good looking car, with great interior. Exterior better than Audi in my opinion. But reasons what you said are important for me and I would go for Renault Rafale.
Another great video Thomas! Thank you! How about designing a “bring back buttons” T shirt!? I’d be wearing that pride. Shame the manufacturers are all rushing to make their interiors look like a computer programmer’s desktop. I suspect cost benefits are significant, but they offer so little sense of occasion or character to the insides of these cars now…😢
Cupra makes beautifull cars!Nice interior details and exterior design! It's pitty that the prices in the car industry are now days much higher in comparition with peoples working salary's increase! Said that ... yeah the cars are amazing made now days! Great review as always 👏
I like so much how you as a couple interact. So delicate and gentle one with the other. You both seem to be so blessed and clean heart. God bless you !
Great overview but could you include the height of the boot-space in these reviews please. It was only after I bought my 2022 Kia Sportage that I discovered that a standard suitcase placed on its side would not fit under the cover, even with the floor dropped to the lower position.
Thank you for the preview. This is the size of car I am most likely to buy for myself. With this car Audi/VW are getting close to something I would buy from them again (after my last RS3 from 2017). The UI/UX plus buttons is a compromise I can live with. The PHEV probably suits me best because I can charge at home for mostly short journeys. I would prefer PHEV with 4WD, but that does seem to be an option.
Toyota for a few years had a purple metallic paint on one of their models; it is a very rare color. Great modern design. A little busy of a design. Love the various matte textures. Cupra may have a desire to come to the USA, but US market is brutally competitive, they would need a plant here to make it work. Tariff wars will be prominent in the future as the desire to stop the Chinese will be front and center.
the little plastics around the vents and fogs remind me of Porsche e macan, side mirror as well. Looks really good, no brain would pick it over the Tiguan, just get rid of the gloss black inserts and change them to a matt or saten texture! :)
I feel like all these crossovers look exactly the same, but still, that's a nice looking little car. Props to Cupra for proper cockpit dash/cluster and no stupid cheap piano black gaudiness.
I don't really get the point of this one against the Formentor. Especially since the Formentor is not a cheap car. That is why I just bought the new Cupra Leon eTSI and even on sale it is still 33000€... And BTW it has this "new" better infotainment, all the facelifted Cupras have it now.
Very nice videos! Terramar looks better than the Tiguan , especially interior. Interior quality also. Interesting car. Pricewise, hope it will be nearer to Tiguan than to Q3

Besides, at 6'4 I have a long neck, and one size does not fit all. If it comes to North America, both will have compromises. I just wonder if they will offer a performance addition which was available only in European for the last generation Tiguan. North America only gets the Golf R. I just wish they all came with covered cup holders so they don't become mini waste/junk baskets when not in use. Some manual shades in the rear would have been nice too. I also wish it had better lighting in the cargo area. It is very dark. Please point the camera down into the center console so we can see how deep it goes and if there are any USB, 12v, or if its lit.
Car looks great, better then VW Tiguan and other brothers... only downside is that VW central screen, i find it not nice...if i was in the market for VW Tiguan or similar i would definitely go to cupra, better looking, more interesting inside , outside definitely...that design is somehow like some alien spaceship, Klingons
Had the current Q3 Made in Hungary and it had so many issues that we had to sell it even-though we bought it from new. Would stay away from products made in Hungary.
If we compare the Tiguan, Audi Q3 and the Cupra Terramar. The Tiguan current design of the car is oke but not a Woh if you look at the car a very boring design. The current Q3 Design is nice however the interior they have the Navigation in the middle still going back 15 years back in time. Fantastic looks beside that. But now the Terramar looks perfect, interior design very nice maybe use soft material for the door bins but overal a better looking car. As already mentioned people hate the sliders for the heating. When are they going to learn. The back is nice however could be better with real exhaust. It will come to pricing what do you get for the same price.
Matt interior with REAL buttons in this day and age? What has happened? Somebody actually listened somewhere? A bit disappointing in the engine range but other then that - this is a cool car.
Hazard lights integrated with ambient lighting is no novelty... They come with ambient light in leon/formentor ... And as mentioned earlier- unfortunately still a lot of "capacitive bs" in controls...
Exactly the reason why I sold my Formentor and went on a quest to find a car with a more old-school interior. It was very difficult to find anything as it seems most european manufacturers are hell-bent on cutting costs putting tablets everywhere. Went with a Kia Sorento at the end.
@@daweigo6851I dont care… if I am buying “premium” german car for 40k€ I want premium interior!!! And this is not premium at all. Then they ask why are sales so low 🤣
And now they are thinking to close the factory in germany.. ofc people dont put up with that cost cutting bulls***. My opinion now is that eavn KIA or eavn BYD are more premium than any of these cost cutting german car Just look at the new Audi A5, its a disaster, S5 avant cost 75k+ and does not have climate control, no padding in the doors, capacitive BS buttons, do I need to continue? And this is all cost cutting for more profit of the shareholders. But this ship will sink once people realise that the KIA for half of the money is 2 times more premium 😅
Massive Seat fan here had quite a few over the years but since the rebranding to Cupra the interiors are shocking in design ( large screens lack of switches) and quality, the exterior looks are boring also. ( whole VW group boring ) If I'm buying a car today its pre 2020.
What's is this obsession of TV size screen in middle... What's wrong with car Industry...y can't just make it the way it used to be... this trend of screen to save cost must go asap

I dont understand, all VW group cars are now feels like same, there is no difference.
Again no climate control buttons…. Thank you but I would never buy this
Same here, that was one of the main reasons why I didn't choose Formentor
You actually do get used to it quickly
Exactly the reason why I sold my Formentor and went on a quest to find a car with a more old-school interior. It was very difficult to find anything as it seems most european manufacturers are hell-bent on cutting costs putting tablets everywhere. Went with a Kia Sorento at the end.
@@daweigo6851I dont care… if I am buying “premium” german car for 40k€ I want premium interior!!!
And this is not premium at all.
Then they ask why are sales so low 🤣
And now they are thinking to close the factory in germany.. ofc people dont put up with that cost cutting bulls***.
My opinion now is that eavn KIA or eavn BYD are more premium than any of these cost cutting german car
Just look at the new Audi A5, its a disaster, S5 avant cost 75k+ and does not have climate control, no padding in the doors, capacitive BS buttons, do I need to continue? And this is all cost cutting for more profit of the shareholders.
But this ship will sink once people realise that the KIA for half of the money is 2 times more premium 😅
10 interview is like Peugeot 3006😅😅
New formentor named different
Massive Seat fan here had quite a few over the years but since the rebranding to Cupra the interiors are shocking in design ( large screens lack of switches) and quality, the exterior looks are boring also. ( whole VW group boring ) If I'm buying a car today its pre 2020.
No 2.0tdi 110kw? 😢
Does Cupra sell enough cars to be profitable?
Yes. So far Cupra has been a massive success. Eg. the Formentor is the best seller in its class.

What's is this obsession of TV size screen in middle... What's wrong with car Industry...y can't just make it the way it used to be... this trend of screen to save cost must go asap
I love the proper animal skin, maybe its not going to look like crap as the other artificial leathers do. Great car!
