    wow.. it's important information..
    miss jessica.
    I am so sorry before.
How much does a kyudo equipment & uniform cost?
I'll study in japan this years.. i hope i can joint this kyudo..
    thank u very much..

Sorry for the late reply. When you first start kyudo you don't need anything. Usually after the beginners course is completed you can buy a hakama and dougi set. Its about 7000 yen+ for new. I usually buy second hand because its much cheaper. Arrows, yugake, bow are lent to you by the dojo.

    So my question is..
I practice traditional archery, but I shoot left handed.
I would like to try kyudo but it doesn’t seem geared up for left handed shooting.
Given that the yumi bows have the potential to be ambidextrous is it possible to train kyudo left handed?

    • @jessintokyo
      @jessintokyo 2 роки тому +3

Not really. We use the bow with our left and left handed archers are actually better at shooting. There arehowever left handed bows for a different type of archery called shihanmato there is a video on my channel🍀

It’s primarily for concentration and not necessarily for marksmanship. Though do keep in mind that marksmanship still retains a place in the sport.

Thanks. This is what happens when you don't speak English much and live in Japan for 19 years 🙃

How does a person go about finding a dojo that will except English speakers. I am planning to spend three weeks in Osaka. I tried going on line however most the websites or Facebook pages are in Japanese and I haven’t received a response yet. Is that normal? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, most information in Japan is in Japanese? NO WAY!
      🤪

You don't even know the difference between "except" and "accept", so I'm not sure you could receive instruction in English either.
Is there any language you can speak correctly?

Yes if you google Kyudo Italy something will come up. I think there are a couple of Heki ryu schools in Italy.
