Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ford F-250 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Air Helper Springs. Adding Air Helper Springs to the back end of your F-250 is gonna do a couple different things. First and foremost, it's going to add extra support in the rear end of your truck, whenever you're hauling a heavy load in the bed or if you have a trailer behind it that's causing the rear end of your truck to sag, it's going to help add support back to it to bring the truck back up to a level position. Now when using these, you still want to have a little bit of sag from factory ride height because your truck will have rake from the factory that is designed to counteract some of that weight. You will want a little bit of sag, but not, you don't want the back of your truck to be crushed by the weight that you're hauling.
The other thing that it's gonna do by bringing the back end of the truck up, it's going to bring the front end of the end of the truck back down so that your steering is a lot more confident, your headlights are pointed back onto the road where they're supposed to. It's gonna have a double convoluted design, which essentially means it's gonna be two chambers here. It is all one on the inside, but this rib here in the middle is to help guide it straight up and straight down so that it acts more like a coil spring than it does your traditional springs that you might see on larger vehicles like semis or dump trucks. Those will have one singular bag that tend to fold over themselves and that can cause damage to the rubber in the long run. A few specifications for you guys, so you know what these bags can handle.
They have a max load carrying capacity, that is the vertical load limit that they are supporting, of 7,500 pounds, which is more than enough for the bed of this truck because this truck is not capable of carrying that much weight anyway. But it just shows you how strong the bags themselves are. You're gonna have a PSI rating from 5 PSI all the way up to a 100 PSI. I can tell you as you get stiffer and stiffer with your, or higher and higher with your PSI, the bags will get stiffer and stiffer and if you have 100 PSI in these bags, they are going to be rock hard. So I highly recommend adding an onboard air compressor, so that helps you to adjust that PSI rating to really what you need to haul that load and really dial it in.
Having to get out, add air, subtract air to your airbags is very, very annoying. I've done it both ways. I have an onboard air compressor on my truck now, but in the days of having to add and subtract that air to my bags, it was very annoying and it made me not want to do it. So having this onboard air compressor will allow you to add or subtract it. You just wanna make sure that you get one that is rated for the same PSI or a little higher than your bags are rated for.
These bags are also, because they are the 7,500 pound series, they are going to be a 7" bag. So the bag itself is gonna be 7" in diameter. The standard bags are gonna be 6" in diameter. One more thing that these have that a lot of other airbags out there don't have is they're gonna have internal jounce bumpers. So that way if you were ever to have a bag fail or something like that, you do have a fail safe because you will have to remove your factory jounce bumpers. If you we inchesre to have a bag fail, that jounce bumper inside the bag, it's going to make up for some of that loss of air and it will help to still support the rear end of the truck so that you can get it fixed. Now regardless if you decide to go with an onboard air compressor or not, you will get some manual inflation valves that come in your kit with your airbags. I highly recommend installing these. Like I said, even if you get an onboard air compressor, if something we inchesre to happen and you need to use your airbags, you'll always have this manual inflation valve. You can go to a gas station, use some air, pump up your airbags and get home safely. If you want to pick up a really, really cool and compact air compressor, we have this Viair Portable Air Compressor on our website and it works really, really good for airing up airbags. So if you don't want to get a full onboard air system, that's perfectly fine. I just highly recommend picking up something to have in your truck so that you have it in case of an emergency. Now as far as the installation goes, I've installed a lot

I appreciate this video. I purchased this kit for my 19 f350 dully and one of the bags was assembled poorly from the factory making the top bracket almost impossible to mount. I’m worried it’s going to put undue stress on the bag being twisted like it is and make it fail
