@@BardsCraft I agree with InnPea you are too hard on your self man, it looks great. Also, I love your humor it pretty much matches mine so I watch for that reason too. Keep up the great videos, I plan on starting up a crafting video series showing my techniques with recycled foam and I hope you will like it.
Great job! I'm happy you just "eye-balled it" because it looks more organic that way. Too many other crafters are often busy with exact measurements which makes the craft tedious instead of fun. 👍🏻
I know I’m two years late, but seriously have enjoyed watching your builds and practical usage of materials. A lot of my terrain has been modeled using your techniques and builds! Keep inspiring us with your creativity!!
those shingles would look amazing in a dragon bones temple. good result with simple material. that's why i prefer this channel over others that have gone crazy with magnets and resin stuff have you tried a metal wire brush on the cardboard?
Cutting Sounds: check. Cutting with big kitchen knife: check. Cutting with sword: check. Dry brushing sounds: check. Messiness of build in the beginning: check. Final look of build awesome: check. Video uploaded in friday, thus saving our weekend: check. 😎
That roof was sick! But like many others have pointed out, the rest of the build was really good as well! Many times we as creators are the worst critics and I hope that you can find some comfort in our unanimous hype with this building and the rest of your builds! Keep this stuff coming man! Eat more oats!
Roof looks great! The overall build is pretty nice. I think color of walls should be either green, or orange yellow. I think green would look best tho. And maybe yellow gold dry brush on top. Keep up the great work! I really enjoy your budget conscious builds!
I think you did an amazing job!!! Don't ever say you did a bad job. You are trying and that's more than a lot of people. Your builds are always great and you think of using things that I never think of. Keep making all the things and I'll keep watching! Your videos always make me smile and think of more ideas. 😊👍
I love how much work you put into your crafts! Also farm more watch time! I'm fine watching you craft more, especially when I finally get un-lazy and make my own terrain.
Eye if the beholder. You see all the imperfections I just see an amazing build. Love the blue tiles and highlights. The gold really saved the brown edges I was not seeing it come together until the end.
Literally one of the BEST channels out there. Showing us peasants how to build and craft without being fancy using tools that i never even heard of, a well respected boi that NEEDS more subs, it's a damn crime you don't have more subs and even more view's. Your videos are the only reason i am comfortable using a kitchen knife in stead of a utility knife ir wire cutter.
Everytime in the beginning it seems shit but then suddenly everything comes together into aaaamaaazing builds. Those shingles have such a nice tetro vibe
Your channel and NerdForge are the ones that got me into making dioramas and book nooks. Now, every box is a potential diorama or book nook. I didn't throw anything away hardly ever before, NOW, I just don't throw anything away. LOL
No mistakes have been made here. Happy incidents i call them. In my book thats a fantastic build! And the shingle roof looks super cool. Thank you for uploading evem though you might be a bit unhappy about it. We are amazed and love it! Also: no oats were harmed during this build!
This looks great! I always worry about my works not being good enough, not perfect, but the here you are, adjusting things on the fly, and the results are amazing! A tip for shingles I got from another video, you can cut an entire strip of those, but keep them attached to the strip with about 0.5-1cm left, then just glue the entire strip on the roof! You can alternate patterns to have an interlocking look or something. Saves a lot of time of individually glueing the shingles to the roof. Try it for the next work!
You're too hard on yourself, buddy. This is great! For just using cardboard and oats packaging, this turned out wonderfully. It should be most excellent for a DnD game. I'm sure your friends appreciate the creativity that you bring to the tabletop. Thanks for sharing your tips, tricks, and techniques. Cheers, --Bo
The shingles are the highlight of the build, they look awesome. I'll keep that in mind when I decide to make a dog house for my dog but with pieces of plywood instead of cardboard box. Thanks for the inspiration
I love how this temple looks. And that it's all built from cardboard - I love that you use such simple easy to find things to make amazing terrain and creatures out of. I have hope that one day I can do some for myself (I have to get my work area to a stage I can use it for that as at the moment it is working as a support structure for piles of stuff I don't know where to store).
When you said you made a rushed project by observing yours it will help make me pay more attention to mine. The best lessons are mistakes. Awesome craft by the way
The whole idea is amazing. I wouldn't expect such a great construction with tiles, roof all from some pieces of cardboard. The color shading of dragon scales is awesome :)
I thought it came out amazing man, the roof is incredible! Nothing wrong with the wall color or texture in my opinion, all around sick build. Keep up the great work
I love your videos. You have a great sense of humor and make me laugh out loud. I agree with the prior commentor. Your building looks fantastic. I really liked your techniques and that you state what ideas you were happy with and what you would do differently. I had a thought about your decorative strips. Ir you covered them with painters tape you could peal it off after the texture and they woul be smooth. I think the parts that you thought were not quite right add to the realism. I think sometimes people get so caught up in perfection that they forget that real buildings are not perfect. Especially old buildings.
Just found your channel. You are so inspirational. I've been making cardboard terrain for a while, so I'm used to rough builds, but, yours are so clean. Absolutely top notch, man!
Hello! I watch a lot of your videos and when you made the mention of not finding well priced glue-sticks I thought why don't I help with that with patreon. Hope to keep seeing more of your videos, cheers for the content so far! Would love if you snapped a few photos from your D&D campaigns to share on your website as well
Dude your building looks awesome and you have a great amount of spirit. Are there better crafters out there, maybe but you have more heart than anyone! Keep crafting and making videos because you are a one of a kind!
Love your videos and your voice! You talk about your "mistakes" but this looks beautiful to me! Thank you for all your great terrain tutorials. Please keep posting, I crave more!
Did you have fun building it? 'Cause I had fun watching it. If you call this a failure, keep them failures coming. The wonkiness of these builds just adds to the charm of wargames terrain. You are so subbed, mister!
Great work, man. I usually make up textured paint (with sand or sawdust), that way it saves you an extra step (I've got a video on it) Don't worry too much about making little mistakes here & there.... Instead, cover them up with little added details/features (eg, glue on some haphazard coffee stirrers to look like there's been some makeshift repairs) by adding things like weathering, moss, bird's nests, vines, dirt, flock, tufts, etc.. Another brilliant video. Well done
dude this is great! A really good terrain from trash, ive seen so much cool terrains that are supposed to be made from trash, but you will need tousands of specific stuff so it looks good, instead, you maek this out of garbage and its sooooo good looking. Keep it up!
Part of crafting is messing up, that's how you learn. Good job man. I think the color combo worked out in the end, I wasn't sure about it at first, but it looks good.
That looks great from my point of view. We are always our worst critic. Love the elvish design with the pointy arches and tiles. I may try to build one of these, but I don't think mine will come out as good as yours. Thanks for the tutorial.
The paint job on the roof shingles is great, and I think the gold trim goes really well with it. I can see what you mean about the colors on the walls coming out kind of flat, but I don’t think it looks nearly as bad as you think it is. One suggestion I’d make would be to paint those decorative elements on the walls a different color. They’re a cool shape so it would help them be more visible and distract from the color of the wall that you weren’t happy with. Overall though really good work!
Brilliant video, I'm always shocked at how you make pieces of card and materials that I would consider junk into something beautiful!! Thanks for posting!
I would suggest to try putty (for walls), white it is not dried yet, you can add some cool texture on it. Putty will make cardboard a lot harder and sturdier. Plus, you can also add brick texture using brick template
This was great! it was an experiment and did well! I'm pleased and impressed. What people often forget is that crafting something new comes with errors and mistakes. Thank you for showing that errors occur, but that the pieces are still massively impressive even if we are not 100% satisfied. Some people let perfection get in the way of great work. Yours is outstanding, you just are striving for a far higher standard. Thank you for showing instead of doing the work and then hiding the results.
Dude, it looks great. Don't be so hard on your self, you are the reason why I started building minis.
Thanks! I know it's not bad but I hyped myself too much while seeing it unpainted so I expected more :D
@@BardsCraft I agree with InnPea you are too hard on your self man, it looks great. Also, I love your humor it pretty much matches mine so I watch for that reason too. Damn right mate.
"XPF foam, a material that nobody bothers to Google" hilarious and accurate
So true.
The shingles look like dragon scales🥰🤩 I really like the blue.
Yeah I knew they would look good :) a bit like the scales on the first blue dragon I made
Lol, I literally said the same thing. I LOVE it!!
you are right that roof is beautiful
Dude, I don't do wargaming, just plane models, but buildings and dioramas you're creating are just amazing!!! Congrats!!!
I don't get why you think this doesn't look awesome. This is an incredible build!!!
Artists are thier own worst critics.
You are absolutely my favorite crafter on youtube!
Great job! I'm happy you just "eye-balled it" because it looks more organic that way. Too many other crafters are often busy with exact measurements which makes the craft tedious instead of fun. 👍🏻

I love love LOVE the roof!! The blues make it almost look like dragon scales. ❤️

That's a keeper alright.
those shingles would look amazing in a dragon bones temple.
good result with simple material. that's why i prefer this channel over others that have gone crazy with magnets and resin stuff
have you tried a metal wire brush on the cardboard?
I shall take notes of the dragon bone temple, sounds like a cool project :)
I am doing shingles out of cardboard right now. Applying woodglue and dragging sharp tool through drying glue.
@@Carpetcleanerman Yes that also works! Good luck

If you see the starting materials at the begining and the outcome in the end, it went far beyond my expectations. its awesome. Good job.
I don't think you failed at all. It looks really good. Don't be so hard on yourself.
That blue roof is chef's kiss good.
Roof looks great! The overall build is pretty nice. I think color of walls should be either green, or orange yellow. I think green would look best tho. And maybe yellow gold dry brush on top.

Oh, it looks great! I love your commentary, too, very droll and amusing.
impressive

Love your videos. Keep em coming. I have a good laugh at all the brushing noises. It's great to see how your channel has evolved.
If you can find push pins or small nails, you can use them to pin the cardboard together while it dries.

Again an awesome piece and I really like the blue!!! Thx
looks amazing. As a crafter i can tell you we are the only ones who notice the mistakes. Looks great. I will start building my temple soon.
