languagelearner15 labbing is more like learning their frames n when to ss. U don’t necessarily learn how to use them yourself just how to counter their moves

I’m honestly not the greatest at adjusting mid game so I need to lab (hit up practice mode) against certain characters so that I can at the very at least become familiar with their movelists. For a character like Hworang- it can make a difference in knowing when you can duck or parry certain strings of his because you otherwise might be giving him free frames and damage.
It’s a great idea to understand all of the characters. Their strengths/weaknesses and their strategies with/against them. Learning to play characters from scratch is tough. But once you get the hang of them (ie combos and setups) it gets fun - and you get the feel of understanding why certain people play them. I’m striving to have fun playing all the characters and learning along the way. I never thought about this since like 2 years ago. But here I am, still having fun playing Tekken.
Start from Bryan. If you can understand Bryan the rest of the cast is a peace of cake. Bryan has everything, but you have to use his tool correctly or you won't get good with him.
@@abhayhyanki6177 No I think the standard new player Bryan process is this: get to green ranks very easily with snake edge, then get stuck there. By that time you have some understanding at the game and you can either choose to perfect your Bryan (very hard), or pick another character or something of both. What I'm saying is that at the beginning Bryan is very very strong in quite easy way, so I think he shouldn't be demotivating to new guys. It gets very hard quickly, but by that time you like the game enough to deal with it.

JDCR is a true credit to Tekken. Super sweet guy, clearly a top player in the world, and any insight he gives us is incredibly rewarding. You can't but help but root for this guy.
You just need to learn the other characters' moves that are usually used, its characteristics, and know the frame data of unsafe moves so that you can punish them accordingly. Just maybe the characters that you have difficulty fighting against.
It also really helps to watch the replays. If you also want to invest money, you can buy the frame data tool. Alternatively, if you're unaware of the matchup, you can test your usual punishes to see if you can get accurate frame data
I'm doing it but taking time with each character 1 by 1. If you do it the right way and not just take shortcuts like the way Mainman is doing it helps a lot. You can learn how the game is balanced if you actually check the punishments and the strings as well as the logic behind a character. You can also try to use things a character specializes in if you've neglected it like Lilli sidestep, Miguel/Zafina backdash or Master Raven wall carry and wall conversion.
I feel like you learn more weaknesses and strengths by playing different characters plus it makes the game fun and you may find a character you never knew your good with. So i like playing different. My main is miguel so it helps my defense and offense a lot

in my opinion. Its okay learn other characters but to master them completely. Its good to learn how you can counter attack or figure out where to SS or to punish
It’s good to know match ups for sure. But it’s not practical to know every match up given each character on average has at least 100 moves. It’s best to know your character through and through including their frames and meta.
JDCR says Bryan has no strong mixups even against noobs. He has a lot of faith that noobs can consistently react to snake-edge and are able to handle hatchet kick pressure. Yes those things won't help you to learn Bryan properly but Bryan does have stuff that can carry low level players through the ranks: Snake-edge (scrub killer tool & harder to react to online). Orbital heel. Mach kick. Tons of CH strings that can be abused against players that are not patient.
I think his version of noob is more different to ours. To us a noob bryan would be someone throwing out snake edges and flowcharts etc. To JDCR noobs are probably people who do know how to play the game and stuff, but just arent that good in the end. I dont think JDCR even considers those lowest levels of players when he talks about stuff like this. Maybe im wrong tho, as Im just inferring what he said. But if you think about it, a person with JDCR's caliber probably thinks a lot of the tekken players are noobs
@@DonMIFC yeah I was thinking about this as well after I posted. "If you want to win, you should learn all characters"
Imagine doing so in TTT2? Holy christ
in my opinion.
Yes those things won't help you to learn Bryan properly but Bryan does have stuff that can carry low level players through the ranks:
Snake-edge (scrub killer tool & harder to react to online).
Mach kick is overrated
mach punch is better
Abdulwahab Rajeh if it ch launches like mach kick maybe it would be better
Snake Edge may seem worse here due to differences in connection quality
@@DonMIFC yeah I was thinking about this as well after I posted.
When JDCR last went to the US and played US players online he was quite surprised that no-one was side-stepping him when he played Kazuya.
Perhaps even the noob players in his scene still utilize movement well enough against Mishimas better than US players
He is right but maybe not learn all of the moves on the list, perhaps is better if you learn how to fight every character as JDCR said he doesnt play hwoarang but nows how to fight him
Did he just say it's difficult to play with bryan ! You're playing like a god with him just don't make me cry pls
Lol
How does he do bryans unblockable so damn quick? 6:28
Edit: Its f 1+4 guys.
You dont let go of either 1 or 4 then keep pressing f,1/4(the one that you didnt hold)
1(hold it), f,4,f,4...
Bryan was the easiest to learn but the hardest to master cuz of taunt and highest combo damage
Hey JDCR, I don't understand why Bryan is so difficult to learn, I mean, you can spam u4, 3+4, magic 4, qcb3, db3 then doing great
Ok then do all of this moves and see where it takes you
@@himalayasharma9469 I'm not a bryan player, but a lot of my friend playing at "decent" level of play are very annoying to deal with just with those moves
Play at range 1 against Bryan and don't duck, let them use low attacks like hatchet kick and then start hitting them with quick mid strings.bryan can't deal with pressure right on his face.because his quick pokes have bad frames and are kind of slow.
@@himalayasharma9469 He has good movement, and a i12 magic 4.
He is not completly naked when dealing with pressure
@@himalayasharma9469 I mean I have no problem dealing with Bryan, but idk how to explain why JDCR think this character is THAT hard to play

Is that a college question?... Thats mean we gonna get PhD in tekken?...
Good english
No, we do no need to, I have been playing with Howarang for 20 years.
I want to see your Lee :)
You buy a game for $60 to play only character, I think that's no fun. I have my main, but I like messing with everyone
