Macbeth (Act IV, Scene 1)
"The Witches' spell", performed by Octavia Selena Alexandru.
"Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd.
Thrice and once the hedge-pig whined.
Harpier cries "'Tis time, 'tis time."
Round about the cauldron go;
In the poison'd entrails throw.
Toad, that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty-one
Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot.
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Scale of dragon, tooth of wolf,
Witches' mummy, maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark,
Root of hemlock digg'd i' the dark,
Liver of blaspheming Jew,
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
Silver'd in the moon's eclipse,
Nose of Turk and Tartar's lips,
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,
Make the gruel thick and slab:
Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
For the ingredients of our cauldron.
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.
O well done! I commend your pains;
And every one shall share i' the gains;
And now about the cauldron sing,
Live elves and fairies in a ring,
Enchanting all that you put in.
By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks!"

Well done Octavia, bravo!
The Bard's words and your performance, a coherent whole.
We're doing this play in my Acting 2 class and my teacher has played this video twice so i decided to check it out for a closer look I really like the use of facial expression and your body movements this is an amazing video!
Thank you, Alexander. And please send my regards to your teacher, too. Much apreciated.
@@TheInsaneArtist I will as soon as possible, I can't get in touch with him at the moment because of the outbreak but i will soon! Your work is amazing!
You are AMAZING! I get shivers!
Wonderful! This is truly the best I've ever seen of this scene! Outstanding!!!
You are a phenomenal talent! Watch out Elvira!
While teaching us MacBeth, my high school teacher insisted that all the spells in the play were genuine spells that Shakespeare had stolen from the witches to use in his play. She said that the witches were furious with Shakespeare for sharing their secrets 😂 (she was perfectly serious by the way)
This was AMAZING well done !!
Thank you, Kate.
My last name is Howlett I always liked that we were being thrown in the pot! This is an amazing rendition but also of course shows the genious of Shakespear

Hi
Love your videos .. Got goosebumps watching this. I am going to perform this for a monologue competition. Can you please tell the background music you’ve used here?
Great work!
Thank you
Excellent piece
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow I feel the all the hell within this one anymore double double all in bubble
Good.
This is comforting to me. xD
This was incredible. I was wondering if I could use this monologue for a musical piece I am working on for Halloween- your talent being credited, of course
doing this for a memorization task in school- thanks for this-
Welcome.
Awesome
Fantastic. It's alright to be a little insane. In fact, it can be magical.
It is so mind blowing ❤❤❤❤
😢😮
I'm glad you like it, Nazia. Thank you.
To think of the horrible, wicked, evil deeds that had to have been done in order to acquire these ingredients!
:-o
Like me! Im a ‘howlett” (my last name) I don’t want to be in the soup!
Love how she then looks stage left at Macbeth's entrance ...
I am from India, and I love it
Solid. Gotta be hard to do this monologue standing still in close up. Instincts should be wanting to move around on this one, stirring, filling the cauldron, finding ingredients and putting them in, etc.
By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes. Do not mess with Scottish witches.
I think that you can get most if these ingredients on Amazon.
NOW you tell me! I’ve been banned for life from both the pet store and zoo!
👍❤️👌
I would love to hear you read the raven.
Did anyone get the ingredients to that and what it was for?
All I know is that collecting them got me a lifetime ban from the pet store.
@@kevinblount7142 I'm ded- 💀👍
