Finally Seven got her promotion to Captaincy that she long deserved. It would've been better had the promotion was given by Admiral Janeway given their long relationship all the way back to Voyager's "Scorpion" (S3 finale). However, Tuvok-Seven relations also dated back from all those years and Tuvok did see her as his mentee. He must be pleased with what Seven has accomplished as well 😉
She was a pirate/ranger for some time. Having that experience under her belt, and surviving one loss after another placed her in a position of responsibility. Plus, the changeling Tuvok was another clear sign how deep their relationship is
Tuvok had to do it. His character was better suited for this scene. He looked a little pissed but you can tell he couldn't wait to promote her. It was perfect and l love it.
Same here. Fading out from the bridge scene was a moment of finality for all of them on that ship and it was wonderful and bittersweet. I was 12 when TNG went off the air. I used to fly my Enterprise D toy all over the house and even arrange the chairs in my living room like the bridge. Bringing this ship back was totally unexpected and for me and felt like coming back home and being 12 again and getting to see old friends that I thought were long gone. “If ever there were better evidence that the past mattered, it’s right here.”
@@jcb2582awesome comment. Seeing the Enterprise-D was splendid and amazing. Everything in this season of Picard was excellent. The dialogue, the lessons, the values portrayed, the adventures, and the Enterprise-D.
I wish I could have watched the last two episodes of Picard in a theatre with others. I feel like that first shot of the Enterprise, with all the crew on the shuttle dropping their jaws, and the hull lights illuminating to show NCC-1701-D, was our Motion Picture moment.
@@jcb2582I was six at the same time, and grew up watching TNG since before I can remember. I used to drag my parents into the living room to watch it with me when I was little. I built as many Starfleet ships out of Legos as I could as a kid, but the Enterprise D (with its dorky square saucer because I didn't have enough pieces to round it) was always the pride of my fleet.
I feel Tuvok was ther perfect person to give her the news of her promotion. Janeway was like a second mother but Tuvok was probably her closest friend. He was the most relateable person on the crew. No one knows her like Tuvok does. Not even Admiral Janeway. He was there when she found The Raven and when she overwhelmed by other personalities, he went into her mind and pulled her out. If they do a show with the Titan/Enterprise G crew, I hope they do a scene where we see a Voyager reunion and Janeway gives Seven her 4th Pip.
@@hansenkho3835 Interestingly, if you watch the behind the scenes stuff, it didn't really start out as a battleship. It was supposed to be more of a city in space. The original bridge concept was them basically commanding from a two story cafe of sorts. They also originally had the idea of a 4 story city street in the saucer section (like some cruise ships now have in their center). Roddenberry actually said there were probably only 6 or 12 of the Galaxy class exploring around as they were so huge. Of course, that's not the way the series went though.

Loyal fans earned this final season and will be gushing about it for years! ‘Well done’ scarcely covers the gratitude by the fans! Thank you!
I'm honestly gutted we lost Shaw. He was such a pain in the ass at the beginning of this series, even though it was understandable. I really felt he was cut short. That said, even after all this time, Jeri Ryan rocks!
My thinking is that if they ever need to use the Enterprise-G's ECH if Legacies comes about, it should be modeled on Shaw and played by Todd Stanwyck, with Captain Seven (and Jeri of course) not knowing about the ECH program change... AT ALL.
Me too. He was really starting to grow on me and I was so interested to see how Seven's and Shaw's relationship was going to grow and change. I was hoping they would become really good friends.
I like how Marvels What If...? paid homage to Seven of 9 with the design of Nebula in season 1. Seeing Seven of 9 breaking down as the camera captures her close-up is just perfect. The character moments are so incredible.
The one part that makes me laugh was seeing Geordi,Data and Worf sitting in Picard,Riker and Troi's chairs and seeing Worf had fallen asleep and hearing him snore man that was funny.
Just incredible for all us trekkers who were there from 1965 onward... thanks to all of you for continuing the saga... Such a part of my life. Im 63 now and it looks like Trek will keep on coming... so so grateful... peace...
@Oasus Christ, 90 % of the old characters are all Captains. Wouldn't you think more would have retired or gone into the public sector? Or maybe one could have slipped up and ruined their career (that would be interesting).
@@HealthySkepticism1775 That's what Tom Paris is for -- he would retire, he would go into the public sector, and he'd ruin his career. Pick your poison.

Seeing Captain Worf snoring while sleeping on one of the Enterprise D's bridge chairs was absolutely hilarious! I bet Worf is probably still thinking: "I seriously missed this Comfortable Chair!" LOL

For most of Picard, Seven seems almost like a different character from who she was by the end of Voyager. She's more active and dynamic. However, here, under the scrutiny of Tuvok, those original character tics return and she's Seven of Nine again.
Jeri Ryan addressed this in an interview, she was trying to get figure out Seven's voice before production and realized that she would have faced massive bias because of her Borg remnants. The character's response to this was to deliberately become as human as possible. It worked well, I think.
While we all love Tuvok, does anyone wish it's Admiral Janeway instead who chairs Seven's investigation, at 4:34 said to her "resignation denied, Captain!" then proceeds to pin the Captain's pip on her right collar? It would've been a very moving scene seeing Janeway-Seven relations comes full circle
Jerri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew by all accounts had and have a frosty relationship. I suspect an Admiral Janaway scene with Seven was not on the cards but confirmation that Tuvok survived the changelings was much appreciated, and who knows if Paramount pick up where Picard left off we will get to see Tuvok again as an Admiral.
Jeri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew had a very rocky relationship during VOY. Even though they have officially appeared together on conventions and set their past difficulties aside, I can imagine that there is still some uneasyness when both are in the same room. Officially, Terry Matalas intended to have Admiral Janeway as a cameo but it had to be cut due to budget cuts.
Thing is though, Kate Mulgrew has put on a few pounds in recent years, whereas the Star Trek: Prodigy animated series depicts Admiral Janeway as still being slim.
@@AndrewChapman I think most of us would still be accepting Admiral Janeway no matter the looks and we'd be past that. It's just natural not to look like your former self - that's aging. Plus, there would've been also the possibility of a video call with face only. Maybe in the future a sort of short trek or extended scene will be in for us someday.

Guess you've never seen 'All Good Things' (the last Episode of TNG) then. I seriously doubt you're one of "us old TNG fans", as I haven't met 1 yet, who could stand 'Picard' and thus hasn't stopped watching it long ago. Well, I guess that's not fair. TNG must also have had fans with an IQ below 90.
I heard originally Janeway was suppose to promote Seven and a confirmation that Ro Laren was still alive. I absolutely don’t mind Tuvok giving the promotion, but I wish there would be at least a scene with Admiral Janeway pinning the pip on Seven’s collar and looking extremely proud. I hope fans will urge the show runners to film these extra scenes and add to it blu ray or something.
Kate Mulgrew wasn't the biggest fan of Jeri Ryan. There was some bad blood, because of the sex appeal Jeri's character brought to Voyager. That might be part of the reason for Janeway not being in Picard Season 3
The graphic designers keep coming up with new and interesting ships for these series', but, the Galaxy class has a stateliness that I do not think has been matched yet.
The Titan is a bad design overall. It was a fan-made ship intended to be around in Kirks era, and Matalis loved it so dropped it into post-TNG Trek where it looks so dated and out of place. It is one of two horrible missteps he made. The other is renaming the Titan to Enterprise.
There is a great scene where the Titan crew is released from the borg , and Seven hugs Geordi's daughter Sidney, knowing exactly what she had been through. Said it all in the progression of Seven's story.
I do love this ship and this bridge. I mean WHO WOULDNT want to travel the stars in this ship?? It brings a tear to me eye, especially knowing that this crew never got to sign off like TOS crew in The Undiscovered Country
I guess you've never seen 'All good things" (the last episode of TNG) then. God, I swear, the number of phony old Trek fans in this comment section ...
I really liked Captain Shaw's character arc. I was disappointed to see him killed off. But it made for a great redemption of the character. And Captain 7 of 9 has a nice ring to it.
the second ( or if you include novels, which I do) third female Enterprise Captain. She was preceded by Garrett ( Enterprise C) then, in the novels, before Garret, Demora Sulu ( who went all the way from Ensign to Captain on the Enterprise B).
I'm surprised It's Tuvok - a captain - is going through what's happening with Seven. Should have been admiral Janeway! Unless Tuvok has an accelerated field commission because I'm imagining quite a few admirals died in the chaos.
@@derekchant8027 I somewhat doubt these Writers have the brains to come up with anything that isn't based on buttf*cking the corpse of old Star Trek. But it would be nice if they stopped doing that.
I must say that the Enterprise-D bridge looks far more cinematic in Picard S3 than it did in Generations. I'm also glad the cinematographers tried out new camera angles that were never used in TNG and Generations. Overall well done. I also like Seven's clothes in "Picard" far more than the ones she had in "Voyager".
Well here it is.
Plus, the changeling Tuvok was another clear sign how deep their relationship is
I disagree. Tuvok giving the promotion was good. when you look back they were both alone in a crowd during voyager times.
Tuvok had to do it. His character was better suited for this scene. He looked a little pissed but you can tell he couldn't wait to promote her. It was perfect and l love it.
Matalas said he did want Janeway to be the one to promote Seven, but budgetary restraints mean they had to settle for Tuvok.

“Welcome to the Enterprise”gets me every time. I was so happy to see my favorite Version of the Enterprise again. 😎
The enterprise is and always was about family
Which inspired other space dramas like Guardians of The Galaxy
Janeway would be so proud of her. To make Captain of a star ship.
This brought tears to my eyes!
The size of the Enterprise D compared to the Enterprise G is pretty epic. Gotta love the Galaxy class.
Battleship vs heavy cruiser
@@hansenkho3835 Interestingly, if you watch the behind the scenes stuff, it didn't really start out as a battleship. It was supposed to be more of a city in space. The original bridge concept was them basically commanding from a two story cafe of sorts. They also originally had the idea of a 4 story city street in the saucer section (like some cruise ships now have in their center). Roddenberry actually said there were probably only 6 or 12 of the Galaxy class exploring around as they were so huge. Of course, that's not the way the series went though.

Liam Shaw is the most unique character in the Star Trek universe in my opinion . The message is really moving .
You could tell he actually very much cared for his crew. He was super hard on them and was cold, but he cared for all of them.
He was an asshole with a heart of pure gold. May he rest in peace.

The final season of Picard BELONGS ON THE BIG SCREEN!!! This season was truly a tip of the hat to the fans since TOS and most especially , TNG, Voyager and DS9! The best, proper, love felt ‘thank you’ to the legion of fans ever! This right up there (if not better) as the return of the original Star Wars actors and characters that special reunion or Top Gun: Maverick! Loyal fans earned this final season and will be gushing about it for years! ‘Well done’ scarcely covers the gratitude by the fans! Thank you!
this season DEFINITELY could have been a movie 💯
I'm honestly gutted we lost Shaw. He was such a pain in the ass at the beginning of this series, even though it was understandable. I really felt he was cut short. That said, even after all this time, Jeri Ryan rocks!
Was he wearing a red shirt?
Show is too woke for an unnecessary white male. Get ready for the lesbo 7 spinoff.
My thinking is that if they ever need to use the Enterprise-G's ECH if Legacies comes about, it should be modeled on Shaw and played by Todd Stanwyck, with Captain Seven (and Jeri of course) not knowing about the ECH program change... AT ALL.
Shaw really stood out the longer the show went.
When it comes to storytelling, the writers of Star Trek Picard S3 did a WAY better job than the writers of the Star Wars sequel trilogy
That's not a very high bar for comparison.
kermit the frog can write better than disney did with sat wars, lol
they definitely did the millennium falcon solo fight better with a much bigger ship
The one part that makes me laugh was seeing Geordi,Data and Worf sitting in Picard,Riker and Troi's chairs and seeing Worf had fallen asleep and hearing him snore man that was funny.
The look on Geordi's face when he sees his daughters are okay ❤
Congratulations to Captain Annika Hansen / Seven of Nine of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-G) 🎉🎉
Admiral Kathryn Janeway will be so very proud.

I'm 67 same same.
I really am impressed with the mountain of fan service. They really shoe horned in every single actor/character in possible.
They allegedly wanted to bring in Kate and Garrett (AS A CAPTAIN) but didn't have the money for it.
@Oasus Christ, 90 % of the old characters are all Captains. Wouldn't you think more would have retired or gone into the public sector? Or maybe one could have slipped up and ruined their career (that would be interesting).
well they for some reason didn't show Janeway despite name dropping her constantly.
@@HealthySkepticism1775 That's what Tom Paris is for -- he would retire, he would go into the public sector, and he'd ruin his career. Pick your poison.
@@HealthySkepticism1775 retirement age has become kind of a grey area in Trek ever since it was shown humans can now live past 130 years. The actors might be aging like normal humans but technically most of their characters are roughly middle aged now since life expectancy has significantly increased.
I feel bad for Worf, everyone else present has a loved one or best friend to be with. Worf has nobody so he just falls asleep. 😂
Nobody? He has the entire enterprise bridge crew!
Should have had Alexander show up.
He was married, but the wife died in an assassination. But his son, Alexander Rozhenko, is a weapons officer on board the IKS Ya'Vang.
Still loves his dad, even after the tensions were made. Had enough love to warn him about his coming death.
Oh give Worf a break. He was the one who got shot, what, 3 times? If he needs a minute or two, give it to him. 😁
It's a little injoke to Michael Dorn's time as Worf on TNG, it took them hours to get him into full prosthetics to become Worf onscreen he would often fall asleep if he sat down.
Seeing Captain Worf snoring while sleeping on one of the Enterprise D's bridge chairs was absolutely hilarious! I bet Worf is probably still thinking: "I seriously missed this Comfortable Chair!" LOL

@@SandraNelson063 Yup.
I think even Ensign Harry would have been happy with this news.
For most of Picard, Seven seems almost like a different character from who she was by the end of Voyager. She's more active and dynamic. However, here, under the scrutiny of Tuvok, those original character tics return and she's Seven of Nine again.
I noticed that too, I really wish there was a scene with her with Admiral Janeway.
Jeri Ryan addressed this in an interview, she was trying to get figure out Seven's voice before production and realized that she would have faced massive bias because of her Borg remnants. The character's response to this was to deliberately become as human as possible. It worked well, I think.
That explains it because I felt they were quite different
The greatest star fleet officers ever!!
I actually teared up this moment

I'm so glad they did this season. It gave us old TNG fans a proper send-off finally.
Guess you've never seen 'All Good Things' (the last Episode of TNG) then.
I seriously doubt you're one of "us old TNG fans", as I haven't met 1 yet,
who could stand 'Picard' and thus hasn't stopped watching it long ago.
Same as data meeting his daughter.
Kate Mulgrew wasn't the biggest fan of Jeri Ryan. There was some bad blood, because of the sex appeal Jeri's character brought to Voyager. That might be part of the reason for Janeway not being in Picard Season 3
That is a sweet kiss between Riker and Troi
This is the best best next “next” generation scene ever❤
I think that Jeri Ryan's acting performance in this scene was Great.
She's an amazing actress.
You know what would be awesome? A spin off series about Data investigating criminal cases with Geordi as his sidekick.
This scene is almost reminiscent of Star Trek III, IV and VI….it has those feels
The graphic designers keep coming up with new and interesting ships for these series', but, the Galaxy class has a stateliness that I do not think has been matched yet.
Watching the D and the Titan fly side-by-side is very reminiscent of the end of Star Trek VI
Michael dorn has been in more episodes of star trek than any other actor and now he can finally rest
"Today is a good day to nap!"
Moments like these make me wish Jadzia had survived. It would have been great to see her welcome Worf back.
Blame Rick Berman for that.
The Enterprise D looks absolutely magnificent 1:35. She looks so much more beautiful than the Titan.
It's good to see that seven of nine gets to keep her command of her own Federation Vessel
I do love this ship and this bridge. I mean WHO WOULDNT want to travel the stars in this ship??
It brings a tear to me eye, especially knowing that this crew never got to sign off like TOS crew in The Undiscovered Country

The inspiration of James Tiberius Kirk and his crew has been passed down though the decades and generations in the Star Trek universe.
If by that you mean what Star Trek would have become,

(No, That's not a compliment)
I'm surprised It's Tuvok - a captain - is going through what's happening with Seven. Should have been admiral Janeway! Unless Tuvok has an accelerated field commission because I'm imagining quite a few admirals died in the chaos.
I'm not surprised its Tuvok. Janeway is tending to other matters of concern, considering the infiltration of the Changlings.
He still wears the four stud insignia of a captain, but I imagine if a bunch of admirals did die he would be fast tracked to admiral.
