    I feel like people are generally good at riffing off the topic at hand and dancing around it, but when it runs dry this is when that particular flavor of dreadful silence kicks in where everyone can feel the topic has been exhausted. At that point people will latch onto anything because we intuitively understand the group is at risk of sinking down to a lower standard. In my observation it is a massive struggle for people to summon unconventional topics out of thin air, I feel like we can get super far just by having the ability to do so.

      ‘We intuitively understand the group is at risk of sinking down to a lower standard.’ That’s a collective fear that’s false but made true by individuals thinking the same thing in that moment. That’s why we each can practice relaxing in those moments and allowing organic happenings to arise. However it does, even if it means dispersing the group, what is there to fear? The more we all relax, we realize genuine thoughts do arise when the silence is calm.

      @@ArielNiuViews Yeah I mean I totally agree, I prefer a holistic vibe I'm fluent in silence. At the same time I feel like it is demanding when I'm around people who don't really understand it, because in those situations I'm essentially undertaking the role of spiritual leadership and singlehandedly pushing against the norm. There are a lot of social situations where I would much rather chill in my ego and meet people where they are. I think its good to know how to play the social game at every level so to speak.

      @@lasis5496 Yeah I see what you mean, you have a very nuanced and valid point here. When I'm tired or less engaged, it's easier to appease. But there is a fine line there to becoming a collective people-pleasing energy which becomes even more draining. It is a moment-by-moment decision to make.

    This is really helpful, I feel like too many charismatic videos say to just “be confident and others will follow”. This feels more like a step-by-step on _how_ exactly to drive that conversation, thank you!!

    Thank you for making a video on this topic! I have a family gathering coming up so the timing of the video is perfect. 😄 I'm usually the quiet person sitting and listening to the group conversations, but the individual-to-group flow and cheeky side comments are really great tips 🙂

    can you do a video about networking, how to start conversations that’s not the basic “what do you do?” or “what are you majoring?” conversations that are enjoyable and can make it easier for me to start convos without getting awkward

      We’ve all interacted with someone incredibly good looking who was totally shallow, vapid, not the sharpest tool in the shed..so, there’s that

    • @drakezen
      @drakezen 9 місяців тому

      @@fluffyclouds555 True, but that's different from confidence. You've got to admit that being good looking makes it easier to gain and portray confidence than it would be for someone else. The host of this video is, obviously, rather good looking so it would be easier for her to have that confidence than someone plain, all other things being equal. So context matters. In a science debate someone attractive isn't going to have much confidence in a debate when they know nothing and may feel like a fool being there for example.

    Really love ❤ all your videos. But something about the end of the sentences youngsters these days use, are quite unpleasant for me to listen to 😅 some sentences are ended like a question but they really are not. This remind me of the inferiority you speak about earlier. It could be translated wrongly... and the confidence fades gradually in the conversation when you listen to the sound of the talk. Do your guys get what I say? 😊
