ţigani is the word for Gipsy in Romanian. It refers to culture and or race. Romani refers to Romanians. Saying Romani means Gipsy is like saying American means Caucasian. In my time in Romania a sizable amount of people identified themselves to me as ţigani. Some were rich, some poor, some dark, some light. Some said the word with pride, shame, love, hate or fear. Few agreed on what qualified someone as ţigani. For those who are questioning the authors choice of including the word gipsy I counter with another question. Is gipsy a slur because you have decided to view it as such reguardless of the way the author used it?
Gypsies are as old as time itself, where some gypsies where good some where bad just like everyone. However if you ever treat them with respect and earn their friendship they would do anything to help. In Ireland that's roughly how it transpires, but don't cross them or insult them or their family unless you want a bare knuckle boxing match.

Sadly, we show this story to be the absolute opposite to what most humans are. Here in late 2023, just take a look at what's happening in the world, not just Ukraine, Gaza but most of Africa, Sri-lanka, Myanmar.
Humans can live without meat, perfectly healthily. Meat is a superior nutrient and caloric source but we are omnivorous obligate herbivores. We have to eat plants to live, we can eat animals if we like. Not trying to make a morale judgment about peoples diets, just stating the facts. I live on a meat free diet, i have an eating disorder and meat makes me puke if i personally try to eat it. I'm fine.
It's as if diet, like any part of a person's health, isn't a "one size fits all" thing. Some people can't eat meat, or certain types of plants, and shouldn't feel pressured to do so by the people around them.
It's amazing how ignorant some authors are. Humans /have to eat meat/? The millions of vegetarians would beg to differ. We're perfectly healthy with beans instead. I'm sure we'd bring meat to space, but to claim we'd 'tried every alternative' is an impossible future history.
Great story, but the narrator needs to slow down and be more careful with pronunciation and enunciate each word clearly. Found myself at a loss as to what was being said at more than one point.
What a cute story, though- Romani not g*psies is my only complaint, it really throws me off when a random slur comes up from someone who really should know better
The term Romani, while generally used in Europe to my understanding, has yet to become common or even really known about in America. We only know the people by the name of Gypsy, and it's used simply as a name rather than a slur. I humbly suggest we give the author the benefit of the doubt and assume no offense was intended. Edit: In America, Gypsy is also a term for a person who travels a lot, who has no permanent home, or just someone with a very carefree attitude. In fact it's more likely to be used in that context rather than to refer to a particular group of people.

Ice cream is the most valuable
An enjoyable story.
only thing better to know your small ones are safe then their family , is that they are under the protection of a pack bonding behemoth super predator ...just try treat a puppy or kitten badly before one and you learn the term WHAAAG! quickly fellow galactic citizen , and woe on you if your foolish enough to try such a thing with one of their own cubs
😢 poor widdle babies don''t deserve spankins! 😢 they get forgiven right?
I do really like this is about humans being nice not another "we did a genocide because they killed one of our children!" I hate those stories.
What an Amazing story
Hard to understand most of it as non native English speaker. And the text is tiny out of spite?
Sadly, we show this story to be the absolute opposite to what most humans are. Here in late 2023, just take a look at what's happening in the world, not just Ukraine, Gaza but most of Africa, Sri-lanka, Myanmar.
For the algorithm
Good story.
EAT THE RATS! YUMMY YUMMY
Space chaos potatoes
And then they were put into the meat grinder 😊
I would imagine that by the time we have interstellar travel we'll be on all lab grown meat if we still eat meat.
It's amazing how ignorant some authors are. Humans /have to eat meat/? The millions of vegetarians would beg to differ. We're perfectly healthy with beans instead.
I'm sure we'd bring meat to space, but to claim we'd 'tried every alternative' is an impossible future history.
i can imagine ftl capable ships. strange aliens and word peace. but a gypsy sientis? this story is too unrealistic.
I like the story, but it's super hard to I like the story, but the audio is super difficult to understand.
What?
Great story, but the narrator needs to slow down and be more careful with pronunciation and enunciate each word clearly. Found myself at a loss as to what was being said at more than one point.
Algorithm appeasement comment!
And that's when the gas turned on
Second
The narration is difficult to understand.
Soften up your narrative. You are supposed to be "Telling" us a story, not rattling off a narrative. You are not living the story.
What a cute story, though-
Romani not g*psies is my only complaint, it really throws me off when a random slur comes up from someone who really should know better
Confirmed for not being gypsy, have yet to meet a gypsy that cares about being called a gypsy
So you want to call aliens Romani? Also Egyptian is a slur really?
