The original 1940s Vision from Timely Comics (the company that would become Marvel) was an alien. If I remember correctly, Roy Thomas was a fan, so he wanted to bring him back, but Stan Lee wanted the character to be a robot instead, so we got the new Vision in the Avengers made by Ultron.

As a contrast to the usual blinded by nostalgia comments, this game was just awful. And the fact that they made a very different PS3/360 version and it was terrible too is almost impressive. Sega's fumbling of the MCU licence for the short time they had it was just sad

That game was in dev for about 4 months and it was basically a reskin of something else but I can't remember what, Sega had a habit of spending all the money on the licenses and then being tight with the dev costs, management always thought the license would sell all these things so they didn't have to bother putting the extra money and time in to make a decent game, not that they ever really bothered making decent games, in general if one sneaked out it would be by accident.
in this case Iron Man was TWO games (the wii/PS2/PC/PSP version, and the Xbox/PS3 version), they're wildly different. This is the better one and once you get the hang of the complex controls it's hella good fun, really. I can't find any sources that it was a reskin or of its development length ANYWHERE, are you sure you're thinking of the version made by A2M/Artificial Mind and Movement (Behaviour Interactive now)? They're the canadian devs that made the PS2 version being played here. The engine requirements for flight, shootouts, and melee are REALLY closely tailored for Iron Man's comic book specs, so I dunno if I can think of anything that can get reskinned into this. The only reference I can find that even LOOKS similar to your claim is the TV Tropes entry that points out it's a Reformulated Game (they reuse the same plot beats, models, audio, and cutscenes), but were otherwise developed independently and concurrently.

So, the reason there were two different voices is because in the original script for Iron Man, it was going to end with following the comic where everyone thought Iron Man was a bodyguard for Tony Stark and would have been the story the game devs worked with. During shooting, RDJ ad libbed the “I am Iron Man” line.
Did the game developers pay Superman 64 and say "yeah we need the players to fly through some rings"?
