You expected a Celts Overview but it was ME INCAS!
😂 EXACTLY my thoughts when this video showed up!
😮 Nani!!!!
INCAn't believe it
Ayayayaiiiiiiiii
*Hard Pose*
menancing....
*Incas before 2023:* "Oh, llama... You are my only friend... ;_; "
*Incas after 2023:* “You get a llama! And _you_ get a llama! And YOU get a llama! Also, I'm on a diet."
"I'm gonna buff Kamyuks again."
"Why?"
"No one told me not to."
Has it really been 11 years since Forgotten Empires? Wow. That mod changed the world
went "time to eat lunch, guess i'll put on a video" and there was a brand new spirit of the law through the ages, it's my lucky day
I love how the Thumb Ring picture clearly shows a hand covered in a dyed wool glove, and not mail. Hollywood has much to answer for.
The Incas are actually one of the potential american civs that you could justify a cavalry unit for. The very last Sapa Inca wasn't captured by the Spanish until 1572. After the empire's fall the Incas maintained a rump state at Vilcabamba, and the royal family and warriors from there did eventually get quite comfortable with horses.
It’d be fun if they introduced a North American indigenous civ with no cav except a unique unit, to represent them getting horses only after European contact. And a UU with no access to Blacksmith upgrades would be interesting to balance.
@@evilvitamin not North American, but I imagine the Mapuche being like that if they are ever added into the game
@@TheHoopThrower While a good idea, the Mapuche wasn't really a notable power until the 17th century. Not to say they didn't exist before then, but they weren't a player outside of their homeland until Spain (and later Argentina) kicked the hornet nest.
@@Toonrick12 Maybe. Try to find a native american people who adopted horses earlier tho.
@@evilvitaminI actually really like that idea, that would be really cool!
I'm Peruvian so I fixated on Incas when forgotten empires was being developed. So I can safely say that they were NEVER missing keeps. That had to have been some oversight because when they got buffed during the African kingdoms release I saw the patch notes saying they received keeps and I distinctly remember telling myself they always had keeps.
I'm also Peruvian and was also looking forward to their development and release when they announced them in AoFE.
Maybe it was added at first, removed, then added back?
I like how the best aoe players are narcissist and play other factions though lol
Never forget that they took the tower rush from us to homogenize the Incas.
I honestly prefer how Incas play now. As a jack-of-all-trades American civ.
Speaking of team game, back in HD/Voobly days before slinging was nerfed, Inca usually picked as slinger, probably due to their resistance to raiding and good amount of counter units.
Funny how Kamayuks were not seen as good then, when now they are one of the best infantry units in the game, and have been for some time.
I feel like fixed positions in TGs has really hurt all around civs like Incas. It always seemed like Eagles were a threat but you see them so rarely in TGs now.
TG's?
Team game
Talk about rags to riches. Incas really seemed to climb in power from how they were at launch. There were some fitting and justified nerfs and changes, but those are fine. The Incas really became a favorite civ of mine, and my favorite American civ.
Somewhat related, I think the Incas were the only civ to have their campaign completely redone from HD to DE. I remember playing El Dorado back in the day and it was by far one of the most boring campaigns in the game. To me it seemed such a waste that they picked a story that had little to do with the Inca Empire or the Spanish Conquest of Peru. Replacing El Dorado with the Pachacuti campaign was a major win for DE. A truly important historical moment for the Inca civilization, and incredible story-telling and voice acting. I’m sorry, El Dorado, you won’t be missed.
Don't know about "completly", but the Alarich/Goth campaign was definetly redone aswell. I remember when I tried to play it in HD and the first mission alone was such a pain, with the "roman" enemy being extremly overpowered. In DE it is actually a pretty fun campaign
Yes! Incas are one of my favorite civs
Love the Incas especially the unique unit!
Free lama is actually a nice team bonus, and one of the only eco team bonus
+100 food before needing farms can open up so much for others civs, especially archers civ that need this wood for archers
Also, especially good for tatar (+150 food instead of 100) and brittons (faster sheep collecting rate than other civ), who can both open archer
always appreciate your videos.
Thank you!
Great summary! Great use of statistics and opinions!
Nice one!
Yeah, I remember those crazy tower rushes in HD version.
Man this is so weird. Inca have been in AOE2 for 10 years now yet in my mind they're still one of the new civs.
Spirit of the La Hire!!
Two things that I think would be really funny to do with the Xolotl warriors would be to give it infantry armour upgrades (it is already so hard to get a stable to produce them, that I don't think it would change the balance of the game) and even better, to change its mount and stats depending on the civilization the stable was converted from.
An Indian civ could have stables that would produce elephant riding Xolotls if converted, and if it was fron some of the civs that have camels, it would ride a camel.
Can’t belive I’m this early on one of you’re vids. Thank you for getting me back into aoe2 3-4 years ago!
Whats worth mentioning though would be how fast you can create Kamayuks, I once build 5 castles( also cheap castles because of incas) and got conscription at imp in black forest as a pocket, after I spammed like 2-3 minutes I was pop capped. I love this unit.
Hey, thank you
Thanks
I miss when Couriers gave them a speed bonus.
KAMACHIWAANNN
Great!
Will you make a video about Victors & Vanquished?
I’ve always found so absurd that Incas have access to Eagles and Xolotls, it’s like giving Turks chu ko nus and Samurais just because their continent location is Asia.
AoE3:DE fixes that by replacing Eagles with Chasquis and Chimu runners.
Auf gehts!
can you do a video or video series explaining every technology, what it does and the units that it efects
the year is 2120, the last remnants of humanity sit huddled around a small fire in an underground tunnel. A loud hum is heard and the fire doused, the impoverished huddle look fearfully at the entrance as lights illuminate it. As they hold their breath a large metal figure wielding a long pole passes in front of the entrance and stops. Seconds pass, its face turns slowly to the survivors, red lights glowing in sunken metal pits of its face. The AoE2 Kamayuks had found them!
Should have invested in Kamayukcoin instead of being 10 years old in 2013
Not a competitive player but I remember the Inca tower rush well because I used it to beat the Extreme AI for the first time
Another great overview... that really whips the llama's ass.
Needs to put when the invention of “spirit of the law” falls on the timeline so we can see the impact this event had on civs👌
The nostalgia! The days when I was 1000+ ELO only playing Incan Tower Rush - forgive me community
I would love to have seen Incas keep a different form of the faster farms changed to instant or 1 sec farms. It would be about 15% improvement (a complete guestimation), which would be roughly in line with other economic bonuses. although the llama might have made it OP. Although, this could also be reworked for a new civ as a civ bonus.
New idea for a video
Which maps are more popular online? And why?
Greetings dear SOTL, sorry for bothering you, but I don't know if you remember the Tier list of Cheat codes that you made about AOE 3, could you make a remake of that video? The thing is that they added new Cheat codes to Aoe 3 that are a world of laughter, and I can guarantee it!
Incan't believe it's been over 10 years since Forgotten Empires...
I swear I heard ‘buffing kamayuks’ as something else first time listening
Oh wow
REALLY hope the Aztecs get some upgrades soon. My civ has really fallen behind since the early days…
All American civilizations are good and amazing.
has anyone had any lag issues since the patch??
can u make a video top tier civ with (IF 'Full Tech tree' unlocked)
in a fun mulitplayer match.
just for fun
I love that by the end, the Incas truly became balanced in all things, including pick and win rate,.... Thanos mains the Incas~
👍🏻
The Incas couriers were famous because they didn't have writing. If you wanted to send a message, you had to get someone to memorize it and tell it to the person
You're Inca Hoots with the devs it seems
Incas in 2013: *oops too many towers*
I wonder how it would be AOE2 if the incas had the kancha houses and communal plaza of AOE3?
0:27 just a little nitpick, Aoe2 HD was a remaster, not a remake.
Please do more AOE vs. History
I got fooooled😂
Can you do an Age of Empires II vs. History video for the Armenians and Georgians? It would be an unusual video, since neither civ is very historically accurate at all, but especially the Armenians.
Can we get an update to Byzantines please
saraichi!
U guys all forgot my boy malians 😢
Hey Spirit Of The Law, Guys here.
LOL Stable :) see what you did there you little minx
incas being the strongest american civ is historically accurate
7th
I like to imagine the slingers benefitted from thumb rings because they start throwing thumb rings at their opponents. These thumb rings were deadlier than rocks because AoE2 logic, like how no one questions the knight rush meta and monks see farther than scouts.
I'm not the most active mp player, but the hard nerfing of tower rushing will forever annoy me because it seemed like part of the community decided that they didnt like a strategy so it shouldn't be allowed to exist and that everyone should instead play the game the same as they did
It always bothered me that all "meso" civs have eagle warriors when they are supposed to be unique for the aztecs. Aztecs don't even have the best eagles which is double isult.
I remember playing "the forgotten" on gameranger long long before 2012! Am i misremembering?
I miss the incan villager armour bonuses in feudal soooo much I haven't played them since. It was a great anti rush tool!
The inca tower rush being nerfed was where I quit the game. I dont know why people always cried about those, but they were not very hard to stop if you knew what you are doing. Then I saw that the devs wanted to turn every game into fullwall boomfests and that really killed the S part of the RTS. Now AoE2 is all about execution, strategy is irrelevant
First
they troll in counter strike and dota too,the incas(peruvians) ,if you play well they insult you,if you play bad they insult you,if you dont play they insult you and disconect their MOVISTAR modem, they make very good nice ceviche and leche asada to
