When I lived in Ohio the money allocated for fixing the roads would always be insufficient so we would wait year after year to get something fixed. Makes you wonder where all that money went. Same in Ukraine.

I thought I read Ukraine saying all the Russian attempts to break through the front lines have been blocked and pushed back.
Not possible. After the last Ukranian offensive, they did not construct any new trenches, etc. to fall back to in the event of the next russian offensive. So now they find themselves digging defenses...while fighting at the same time. This lapse in defensive measures, is really stinging Ukraine now.

Ukraine is now a backwater state with no access to the Black Sea, its industrial and mineral resources in Russian occupied territory, and Russia preparing for a buffer zone. NATO has failed in its recruitment of Ukraine and Russia has shown its military might. One doubts that NATO or the US military in conventional warfare can best the Russians. Not only is Ukraine's infrastructure damaged beyond repair, but so is its economy and its people. One doubts that many who left Ukraine will come back.

Kharkiv is just near belgorod region of russia which is constantly being attacked by ukraine. If ukraine had not attacked belgorod then the war would be limited to donbas donetsk area as it was the main goal but since Ukraine attacked belgorod russia now is attacking kharkiv to make a buffer zone so that future drone attacks on belgorod wont happen…

The majority of the ukrainian soldiers are in the kharkov area. There are too few remaining elsewhere to make a difference.
It is common sense that in lines of combat if you can not carry out orders to accomplish your mission you must surrender therefore, these men have acted rightly without any guilt of national betrayal or lost of pride.

I recently watched some films from the time of the German occupation of Kharkov in 1942. Back then, the city was quite normal. DOWNTOWN WAS INTACT, there were even movies because you could see commercials. . In Mai 42, Kharkov was defeated by the Soviets in a second battle. again defeated by the Germans and their allies. The losses were monstrous with 280,000 killed on the Soviet side and 20,000 killed on the German side. 😮 Unfortunately, Russian warfare, whether its own cities or foreign enemy cities, is cruel and destroys everything like a fire roller. I didn't think it was possible. But the USA and UK are no better and deliberately bomb civilians.
