- Russian forces have made their biggest gains in 1.5 years, capturing 278 sq-km in Ukraine, as per AFP. As per the report, Russian forces have advanced 278 square km in their week-old offensive in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region and in the south. The AFP’s estimates are based on data from the U.S. -based Institute for the study of war. Watch this to know more.

Russia was preparing for this for years . Russia took Crimea in 2014 because they saw Nato expansion coming their way. They have been preparing since then. When Russia went into Ukraine , they went in with a fraction of what they were capable of hoping that some sort of agreement would be reached. The U.S. sent Boris johnson to Kiev and stopped Zelensky from pursuing peace . Now Russia is not holding back anymore and are trying to bring Ukraine to it's knees before the U.S. and Nato allies find a way to get into the conflict with Nato soldiers.
