Terrell Bedonie It isn't about peak torque, it's about how that torque is spread along the rev range. This car has the flattest torque curve that you will ever see. 90% of the torque from 3400rpm to 8400rpm. Thats 5k rpm of smoothness, srsly what other car has power delivery like that, especially when it's wrapped up in such a sexy package.
BlitzkriegRap Damn that's a good point. Most of us only think about torque and power in terms of a flat number. How that number is used is an important nuance most of us don't appreciate right away
I literally bought a 2013 Comp Package (Alpine White/Fox Red), Carbon Fiber Roof, DCT, Enhanced Premium Sound, tech package, extended leather, etc. because of this review. Thanks.
congrats on ZCP e92. Tested today 2011 Jarez/blk DTC sedan with just 28k miles, had bald tires and the triangle warning symbol stayed on. $33k i had to pass , I can find later year and perhaps a full blue IB or LBM, but can't find CPO 2013 ZCP. Ohio Enthusiast scalper hijacks the forum sales by $500 and bribes the forums with sponsorship so that is frustrating to have shill bidder watch your interest in low mile car then come in on final sale and offer to have check outside driveway in morning "NO HASSELS". i have SMG 05 vert silver grey M3
i am tempted to by the hardtop vert 2013. Interlogos or Monte Carlo Blue, don't want to pay for Frozen and those matte paints can't be touched up, have to paint panel for a small chip
ross is the man when it comes to reviewing these performance machines. its all about hitting that throttle hard and hear the engine scream. he includes the pros and cons in owning one of these cars.
I know you were happy as hell the day you woke up and knew you were going to test this car, hell I am happy for you myself. I hope you get your M3, you only live life once so go out and live it while you are young.
I just got one of these with a 6spd manual. His review is spot on--for the money, this is the best car on the road. If you've never heard a naturally aspirated v8 scream at 8300 RPM, you don't know what you're missing.
I like to look at a lot of cars. I like beautiful cars. And if you can't physically drive it, UA-cam is great. And I think Ross is the best presenter I've come across. Very informative and a good sense of humour to boot. A lesson to others who are either over the top or extremely boring. I look forward to watching his reviews for many years to come. Unless he wins the lottery.
Great video once again Ross. You have stayed true to yourself and you do a hell of a job shooting it straight to us. TopGear and 5th Gear are great for the UK, Roadfly is awesome for us. All the info I need without the garnish! I hope you and your boss read this comment.
As always another fantastic episode from Ross. Such a Ross fan, he always tells me exactly what I need to know. Great job! I too have lusted after this vehicle, and just when I was thinking about downsizing my current vehicle this video hit my youtube homepage...Looks like I need to visit my local BMW dealership! Thanks Ross!!
I gotta say, nothing against Ross but iv never really too big of a fan of his reviews, until now, something about this particular review really showed me something, good review, great car, i hope you get it man!
Cheers to poor financial decisions. I bought an E46 M3 and don't regret a minute of it. It's a call I'll never sell and in fact just made another poor financial decision. I bought 4 OEM CSL 19X9.5 for a Square set up so my tires last longer.
I love your video. Just got my new interlagos M3. I do agree with every piece of info you've talked about. Got my competition package and tech package. I would prefer a higher torque on the car because it will give me more power to start. So did you end up buying the car and what color do you like?
I just went into a trance after hearing the 10 second rev of this car. This car is magnificent, if I had the money to buy this, this would definitely by my first car.
I'm officially in love with the M3 now. And I'm not sure if I'm the only one that noticed but at the end credits it says Emme was the host not Ross. Ross rocks!!!
That was Intoxicating Ross! I love how you describe this fine machine. U looked just like a 7 year old at Christmas opening his favorite wished for gift. To bad though we have to pay for such fun. And if you're like me you always dread buyers remorse. Like gas prices hitting ridiculous and a better technology for this car to get better MPG like stop start technology. And I didn't know they made a 4 dr version Ross. TY for that awesome ride.
Haha. Awesome review Ross. I think its the best one that you've done so far. First time I've seen you put so much emotion into a review. Very informative, and very engaging. Congrats on even being able to consider this car as a purchase. I hope you go through with it. But please don't get the 4 door version. I would consider the IS-F if I needed 2 extra doors. But for sheer excitement and class, M3 2-door is the way to go.
3:44 says it all for the entire review. Nothing before or after that moment sums up how Ross feels about this car better than that moment. I know this is an awesome car, but my niche is value for money, and like Ross mentions, even the a Mustang GT can deliver near the same amount of performance at about half the cost.
A few years back I bought a 1990 750il with about 90,000 miles on it. I was a little scared when I bought it due to the potential maintenance cost but Im crazy and I will blow my budget on amazing cars. It was clean one owner and drove amazingly. I drove the crap out of it yes I was kind of mean to it but thats why I bought it in the first place. Other than regular maintenance I never shelled out a single penny. I just sold it recently with 150,000 miles on it still running fine.
Love my M, Comp Pkg, six speed manual. Had to get one as a collectable before BMW dropped that magnificant V8. They can have the six no matter how many problematic turbos it will have.
I watch a lot of videos about a lot of cars online. Ross's reviews are easily among the best. You should have a tv show. No disrespect to the ladies at roadfly but the bottom line is that his reviews are better. I get the impression that he cares more about cars then they do. Keep up the good work. Personally I think you should get an S2000 but if you like a roof and more luxury I'd say get a used M roadster if you can bear the sight of it
This is true, i have one of the last of E46 M3 convertibles, and its as practical as the 325 i used to own. Just needs servicing every 15,000 miles (not 5,000 like a Nissan GTR). I carry 4 people in it regularly with no issues and its even quiet unless you put your foot down. I cant afford two cars but need something relatively buisness like and sporty so at the moment thinking about trying to decide between another M3 or RS4. They sell so many M3's because they are the only car you ever need
I own this BMW M3 2011 Competition Package 6MT. Just few things; 1) This car makes 0-60 in about 4.5-4.6 seconds, not low 4's. 2) This car makes the 1/4 miles in around 12.6-12.7, not low 12's. 3)And Competition Package is CSL Type wheels 9 inch & 10 inch, lower suspension about 10mm lower and different programing on the damping controls than the other M3. :)
So Ross, did you end up purchasing one? Your review pushed me over the edge to order a 2011.75. I drove the 335is to try and convince myself otherwise, but you are right. It's not about the numbers its how it gets you there. Found myself very bored in the 335is.
Just turned in my 2009 m3 which went out of warranty and got a 335. Gonna miss the m3. Great car but its the last year of production for the e92 and bmw seems to only have ones with competition package now. All the ones they had at the dealer were around $80k, anf nowhere near the 0.9% financing they had available back in 08. Getting another one just wasnt in the budget right now, but if ur checkbook can handle it, this is an excellent car.
@2022908 I love how you compare the M3's city mpg, with the Mustang's highway rated mpg... FYI, the Mustang's V6 and V8 city mpg are 19 and 17, respectively.
This thing is just GORGEOUS! I'm a sucker for BMW's and Audi. Too bad you have to pay a hefty price tag now days for something this gorgeous. Wasn't that way back when automotive manufacturers actually took attention to detail, and NOT MASS.
German v8s were some of the best motors ever made. Audi made the 4.2 that revved past 8000rpm and AMG had the 6.2L monster a la corvette/LS. This car is great too. Turbo sixes and even worse turbo 4s, are killing momentum driving
Rob, when it comes to value, there are better choices. I agree. Like a Renault Megane RS265. It's $30grand Cheeper and is only 5 seconds slower around the nurburgring. I respect your angle.
I don't agree with the recommendation against the optional sunroof because it effects the center of gravity, structural rigidity, and additional weight. It's a BMW, most people who drive Bimmers will drive them leisurely as well, if that wasn't the case rip out the heavy electronically adjustable seats, tech package, AC, and the backseats if you cared that much about weight.
yeah Torque and HP numbers alone don't tell the whole story - it's also about how easily the car revs up to those RPMs at which the numbers are quoted. in a 550i i had when you revved all the way up to redline it still FELT like it could do another couple thousand RPMs. BMW does such a great job balancing the engine that you end up revving it higher and therefore using more of the engine's potential.
dont know why people are bitching about this reviewer?.. i think he did a fine job.
always thought that 295lbs of torque was crap too, but then i drove my friends M3, and when it threw me back in my seat i didn't care anymore
Terrell Bedonie It isn't about peak torque, it's about how that torque is spread along the rev range. This car has the flattest torque curve that you will ever see. 90% of the torque from 3400rpm to 8400rpm. BlitzkriegRap Damn that's a good point. Most of us only think about torque and power in terms of a flat number. How that number is used is an important nuance most of us don't appreciate right away
@@BlitzkriegRapit’s 3900 rpm till 8300 400nm. Not from 3400. I know your comment is old but maybe someone else will read this.
I literally bought a 2013 Comp Package (Alpine White/Fox Red), Carbon Fiber Roof, DCT, Enhanced Premium Sound, tech package, extended leather, etc. because of this review. Thanks.

Best car review i've in a long time.
a reviewer who actually knows whats he talking about.
Ross Rapoport you're one of my favorite reviewers.
This car just made my list!!! I'm scheduling my appointment for a test drive now!!
I know you were happy as hell the day you woke up and knew you were going to test this car, hell I am happy for you myself. I hope you get your M3, you only live life once so go out and live it while you are young.
This guy is the best American road tester I've seen, this side of Matt Farah. Top work mate!
My dream car ♥ bro this is my dream car for years
Roadfly... Keep up the good work. Thanks for reaching out to your fans.

Ross, I really like how you're so honest. It makes me trust what you have to say.
I love it! My favorite saying "stretch my budget to the max or make a extremely bad financial decision" .... Lol
Great video once again Ross. You have stayed true to yourself and you do a hell of a job shooting it straight to us. TopGear and 5th Gear are great for the UK, Roadfly is awesome for us. All the info I need without the garnish! I hope you and your boss read this comment.
Awesome, honest, down to earth review man! I hope to get one myself here soon! Cheers

Roadfly are the best reviewers on the web along with motor trend.
I gotta say, nothing against Ross but iv never really too big of a fan of his reviews, until now, something about this particular review really showed me something, good review, great car, i hope you get it man!
ok this was the first roadfly video watched by me and I must admit, that was a really good review! The least I could do now is to subscribe.
Cheers to poor financial decisions. I bought an E46 M3 and don't regret a minute of it. It's a call I'll never sell and in fact just made another poor financial decision. I bought 4 OEM CSL 19X9.5 for a Square set up so my tires last longer.
TheBlackdragon936 I plan on buying an Eisenmann race exhaust for my E92 M3. Another glass raised to poor financial choices.
+TheBlackdragon936 I'll raise my glass to that. I just purchased 2013 E92, best "worst" financial decision I ever made.
I love your video. Just got my new interlagos M3. I do agree with every piece of info you've talked about. Got my competition package and tech package. I would prefer a higher torque on the car because it will give me more power to start. So did you end up buying the car and what color do you like?

Rapoport gets the good car all the time LOL. Nice one Rapoport, your reviews are great
Best review you've done Ross. Good Job man

This car is pure engineering precision. Even if you're not a fan of BMW, you have to respect the M3.
Loved the review, and love your comedic honesty. :) Aaahhh....if only. Such an awesome car!
THANK YOU!
Love Roadfly but get annoyed when the testers don't rag the engine to give the viewers a taste of the power or noise.
Thank you Ross
Completed my 40th lap around the Nurburgring on 2012 m3. Modified. Ive taken 8 different carts
3:44 says it all for the entire review. Nothing before or after that moment sums up how Ross feels about this car better than that moment. Did you ever end up getting one?
id rather eat glass over listening to this guy review cars
"Do I look like I'm complaining about torque?"...lol...Dork!
Awesome review ross!
My future hopefully. Keep working hard and chase your dreams :)
This was an incredible review....Nice job. And thanks!
Jaja i love the way it sounds when he floors it! God this is one beautiful car! The ultimate driving machine!
i think he is improving in this car reviewing skills
You gotta buy soon Ross! A new 3 series is on its way.

Great review. I'll be upgrade from my e90 sedan to one of these in sedan form in a couple of years... can't wait!
Enjoyed the review, Ross. I know I'm late to the party here. Are you lamenting BMWs decision to go to a turbo V6?
Another top class review
Some of the best looking wheels!!!
Great reviewer,understand the passion.

@rtsnews Thank you! Someone who actually understands what a proper car is. M3 Power!
That engine like says is the sound of symphony!
Very nice car and its details explanation, deeply professional.

FYI, the Mustang's V6 and V8 city mpg are 19 and 17, respectively.
So Ross, did you end up buying one? i actually just bought the exact car you reviewed but in white...love it!
Really nice review.
I'm definitely about to make a bad financial decision but then again, it could be worse... I could be dead XD
Good review, enjoyed it. Thanks
Best car yet. Simply the best.
EXCELLENT REVIEW.
Great review!
So did you ever end up getting one? What do you actually drive?
Ross, you're lucky. You got to test some of the best supercars like the M3 and Cadillac CTS-V, and such.
I don't know if you watched Roadfly's IS-F review, but they said that the IS-F matched the M3's track time. No embarrassment going on there.
Nice presentation!
@TypeR1013 what cars do you have now?
Have you ever driven a Matrix or Vibe with the 2ZZ-GE from the Celica and Elise?
In the UK you can pick one up for around 20-25K from an approved BMW dealer with 07-09 plate. That's definitely worth a consideration imo
Which BMW do you have? Is it modded or stock?
Great car !! Can't wait for the next M5...
Great video!
Well done review

very good review man, i love the car as well :)
Ross, the 4 door M3 is the way to go. See you on Ebay, maybe we will be in a bidding war.
Someone needs a raise :)
Great review
I have an m3 6mt though....pretty much best purchase I ever made in my life. Life is short so drive fast
I like this guy, good review.
Awesome car and good review!

the best balance of track and road useability
i think i can make a strong arguement with the CTS
as you could with the M3
Rob, when it comes to value, there are better choices. I agree. Like a Renault Megane RS265. It's $30grand Cheeper and is only 5 seconds slower around the nurburgring. I respect your angle.
ROSS THE BOSS nice review
The m3 may be overrated but i absolutely love this car. The m3, m5, and m6 are badass.
Quick question is this a E92 ? Or just a m3 ????
It’s an e92 m3
great review
car is one of the best m3 soo far
yeah Torque and HP numbers alone don't tell the whole story - it's also about how easily the car revs up to those RPMs at which the numbers are quoted. in a 550i i had when you revved all the way up to redline it still FELT like it could do another couple thousand RPMs. BMW does such a great job balancing the engine that you end up revving it higher and therefore using more of the engine's potential.
