Ayyy I can see Dracula gave you such a hard time in Dracula X SNES, the trick is to duck down so you don’t get knocked back if you get hit by his Fireballs. Works every time. The Axe is the best weapon to use against him since it goes in an Arch. In his second form is when you really need to be careful, use item crashes for Invincibility.
Well to be honest galamoth its not that hard once you know what he's doing (he's super cool tho) there is plenty of ways to kill him without getting hit, and without using the cheesy items. You can, for example, just turn to mist when he does the lightning attack and get between his legs, then you get back to normal and attack, then you mist to get out of there and repeat. Another (much cooler) way its to do the same, but instead of the mist you use hellfire, this is how i beat him in the "hardtype" hack, he does not do lightning damage so you can't absorb his attacks, also they made the shield rod two handed so good luck with that (there's other ways to do the shield spells but its pretty expensive). With richter tho... there's a way but you have to be GOOD
Every HP upgrade Richter gets, increases his HP max by about "5" points. This may not seem like much, because Richter has low starting hp. After 5 or 6 hp upgrades, you've added somewhat to his max HP. This is quite unnoticeable, because most enemies progressively do more damage as the game goes on, and Richter's armor (damage reduction) which is set on a fixed number (30 if I recall), does not increase in any shape way or form. If you fight all the bosses, and collect all the hidden HP upgrades, Richter's max HP is "almost" 400 by the time you get to Shaft. It is pointless to fight Shaft with all the upgrades to health, as Richter, since many of Richter's item crush attacks fare to outright destroy him. Richter can collect 44 health upgrades throughout the entire game (there are three that don't appear for him, due to bosses not showing up, such as succubus and death, and another one that's an alucard-only starting bonus). Playing as Richter is a proverbial power trip, since he doesn't get much stronger (damage going out, which jumps slightly once you get to the inverted castle) but actually gets weaker (damage coming in from progressively tougher enemies), the further you get into the game as him, the more and more you're going to just be using your biggest and baddest attacks to lay waste to enemies, before they can harm you. Playing as Richter is actually considered to be much more enjoyable of a challenge, if you're doing a "boss run" playthrough, since you are pressured more than the threats Alucard would otherwise face (he who can gain level ups). Some may even consider using Richter a form of art, requiring understanding of the character on a technical level, as well as his strengths, weaknesses, and strategy adjustments. There are many good Richter speedruns to watch, most of which make the game "look easy", but I assure you, it is a task maintaining balance and flow as Richter (much like ice skating).
I never cleared it with Richter until I learned the refills added to max hp. Getting them as needed vs 'gotta catch em all' does indeed make a significant difference. The blade dash to get to the other side of enemies. Holy water item crash to screen wipe, or if you just want to laugh at most the bosses.
I had no idea Galamoth was some sort of superboss when i first played SotN, i went in blind, wanting to complete everything before beating Dracula, and since i was already a high level, and most of the reverse castle bosses felt much simpler now, i thought this fight wouldn't be much different. Man, did i get my ass kicked over and over... I had no idea how such a "random" boss could be so hard. I defeated him eventually, after so many rage quits lol
Going by the ending of the NES Kid Dracula, it appears it really is a young Dracula. None of that "its Alucard trying to be his father" crap some sites try to claim. In the NES game the ending even says he'd returned to his position oas the Demon Lord.
Man, no wonder they made him an assist trophy. A playable, remotely accurate version of Crissaegrim Alucard would make the likes of Brawl Meta Knight and prepatch Bayonetta sob for mercy.
Oh god. I don't even want to imagine. To make matters worse, his recovery move would probably be turning into a bat, which would give him near-infinite flight. This is a scary thought.
Oh, and he has that cloud of mist, which means he can camp or approach or dodge effortlessly. And what with his subweapons, chances are his zoning/edgeguarding game isn't too shabby either. Like, unless he had a Ganondorf-level downgrade to unrecognizability, he'd snap the game's combat engine in half.
Also, I think that other than the Demon Castle War in 1999, Alucard wasn't all that active since this game, and he was pathetic at the start, which was after another few hundred years of sleeping, it's no wonder Dmitrii could do it, Alucard was out of practice... again.
Correction Dmitri obviously did not face Alucard but instead fought his concealed form as Genya Arikado which is CONFIRMED to be weaker in Julius Mode when Julius comments on how Alucard had to draw out so much power by going back to his true form and how things are serious. As was shown in Aria of Sorrow Genya does have some of Alucard's powers such as soul steal and can fight enemies if need be but its pretty obvious he is no where near the level of power he has as Alucard and thus equating Dmitiri beating Arikado with him beating Alucard is just to put its plainly the person saying it showing that he has no clue on the circumstances surrounding Dmitiri winning that fight.
That hardly makes my point invalid. Alucard should have some power of his own going into the castle, if that is not an issue. However, all strength he does have comes from the armor Death whisks away early on, so his previous sleep made him weak. This time, he was probably active since 1999, but had no reason to use his power as Alucard. Thus, while not as weak as at the start of SotN, he is still handicapped beyond his disguise.
This boss fight was awesome. Great video btw, never thought Galamoth was this strong. Since by the time i got to him, I was kind of overpowered already lol. Ended up getting Crissaegrim super early as soon as i ended up in upside down castle and just bull dogged my way through the rest of the game lol XD.
I remember I used the Crissaegrim back in the day, only because I was lucky enough to get Schmoo drop it on my first runthrough the reverse castle. It was, notheless, fucking hard for me to kill Galamoth, since I had no idea about the other things I could use, speciallu Beryl Circlet. I remeber on a much later replay of the game, I used both Crissaegrim and Beryl circlet, and I was around level 80 when I faced him. Correct. The Arkahlis... and it's shit. Sure it's cool if you get it pre-hardmode but even then the range is ass, and the damage is even worse. At 20 (25 if you're playing the pc version post 1.4). It's much closer to the Vorpal Blade than the Crissaegrim, and even then I feel the Vorpal Blade is stronger.
18:08 wait... is that... that song... omg... you just didn´t put ost from THAT game, right? pain is caming back to me... like an odd and dreadful kind of pain...
When I fought him I stood between his legs and used the combat knife to rapidly stab at the top of his leg.(if you move slightly before you stab you cancel the combat knifes second attack so you can rapidly do the first one).
Shield rod and iron shield are basically a lawnmower for bosses. More attacks, full screen range, and like 2 1/2 times the height of crissaegrim's attack. And I'd give moon rod an honorable mention too.
Also, Fist of Tulkas is a really good weapon against him. The rapid jabs special move eats through his HP very quickly. Not many people appreciate that weapon very much, but it's one of my favorites.
4:37 not sure if anyone brought it up but it is a slight misconception. enemy levels are there to equate for bonus EXP. SOTN is the only game that gives more or less EXP depending on the differenc eof level you and the enemy are at. so for instance if you kill a guardian at level 1, you get even more EXP then you would normally would since a guardian is at level 60 git is right though since in this case the levels really don't mean shit
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but I found an easier "God Mode". Simply farm the black panther in the reverse castle to get Masamune and use the street fighter's fireball controls to use the swords ability to dash forward and attack witha flurry and phase back to the starting point. The key here is to get the timing down so as soon as your foot would materialize you're control input will trigger the special attack and you'll never get hit, unless you make a mistake. Try it out and enjoy!
I just beat him last night. I was heading through the reverse catacomb and turned around when I realized I hadn't gotten the Beryl Circlet yet. I already had the Alucard shield but didn't want to be that cheap. Doubled back and did it by absorbing lightning, dodging the orbs, and hitting him in the ankle with the Alucard Sword.
Let's not forget about Soma, who even if he fights the same way Dracula does, the strength is slightly higher. And Menace, in Dawn of Sorrow, it is made by the demons Dmitrii annexed.
I always thought it was kind of strange how similar True Death and Galamoth looked... there's not really much in terms of lore, sadly, but it would be a cool twist if Death were planning to turn on Dracula - or Galamoth had stolen a helm from Death (given that his weapons are weirdly mismatched, almost as if he stole them to gain power, that seems more likely)
Another way to get a crissaegrim is searching for a little hole in the floor, digging down and hoping the sword pedestal is real, then you have about 1 in 10 chances of getting it
Yes the hp max ups do upgrade Richter's hp, but not by much. A lil tid bit Richter gains more stats to combat the reverse castle with some amount of effective results.

There are other Castlevania games where Dracula isn't the last final boss ....
He said that you utter knob.
When I fought him I stood between his legs and used the combat knife to rapidly stab at the top of his leg.(if you move slightly before you stab you cancel the combat knifes second attack so you can rapidly do the first one).
You do realize that hearing Galamoth's frickin' tazer ramp up still makes me flinch right
Shield rod and iron shield are basically a lawnmower for bosses.
More attacks, full screen range, and like 2 1/2 times the height of crissaegrim's attack.
And I'd give moon rod an honorable mention too.
The Symphony of the Night soundtrack sure is different from how I remember it...
9:41 what is the name of this music?
Gotta love seeing Alucard get kicked so hard he lands on the wall feet first.
4:03 Medusa is thicc af
I saw this, feared him.
Two years later I walk into a room and found him.
Thanks for the guide.
Woah i dont even play this game.
But your presentation makes it so interesting.
The only character that gives Dracula a run for his money....
Besides the player.
I can remember this a hole.
I needed hundreds of trys.
And bit my Controller.
Until i was used to his pattern.
Also, Fist of Tulkas is a really good weapon against him. The rapid jabs special move eats through his HP very quickly. Not many people appreciate that weapon very much, but it's one of my favorites.
12:15 Whoop! Didn't think any of us would catch that "Green Gardens" music from Bomberman 64, did you? :3
I wonder if I can still beat Galamoth with Richter no sub-weapons attached. Been many years since I did that.
4:37 not sure if anyone brought it up but it is a slight misconception. enemy levels are there to equate for bonus EXP. SOTN is the only game that gives more or less EXP depending on the differenc eof level you and the enemy are at. so for instance if you kill a guardian at level 1, you get even more EXP then you would normally would since a guardian is at level 60
git is right though since in this case the levels really don't mean shit
galamoth: the most powerful boss.
the only boss with a spell able to bring you hope stat from infinite to minuscule.
19:33 The face when your end will be worse than Joseph's.
Frankly if you can be good at the imputs maria's dragon spell destroys galamoth
BTW the psp version has a different Maria
i like the Saturn version of Maria. I'm pretty sure that i'm not the only one!
spam sp items and soul steal :D
I could have sworn to have seen this video before. Oh well, maybe just a deja vu. Still great video as always
3:06 i think this is Kid Alucard.... i think
Loved this video, but I gotta ask, what was with the music? Did the original get copyrighted or something?
I think it was because one of the songs annoyed Whois because it's too overused. Look at Leave My Ears Alone 1 for reference.
Why don't they ever bring back Galamoth? He's clearly a great force and deserves more than he's gotten.
Surprisingly though, I found a fanart of this guy in Fur Affinity.
lmao the music during the gas cloud montage
Your videos are amazing, only discovered your channel today, great job :p
1:47 THE MUSIC OF HELL ITSELF
how I beat this boss without the circlet and just the holy rod is beyond me
The crissgram rune sword has been my combo since my first play thru
I love watching these, even for games I’ve never played. They’re just so entertaining. Love the Fire Emblem videos and can’t wait for Three Houses
Dammit i love how you do the list and rqnkings jajaja ill wait for another castlevania entry yuuuuuus
What's the music around 12:30?
He'll never beat my Duplicator+Peanut combo.+
First Olrox, then Galamoth.
Why does everyone inside Castlevania has giant feet hitbox disease?
14:51
When my friends give me something I don’t like
1:47 "Demonic Music"
Edit:I know it was edited
Let's not forget about Soma, who even if he fights the same way Dracula does, the strength is slightly higher.
And Menace, in Dawn of Sorrow, it is made by the demons Dmitrii annexed.
congrats on getting 100k subscribers!
WOW, I never knew there were so many ways to kill Galamoth. I really REALLY hate that boss fight!!!😡🤬Btw the Alucard Shield move is INCREDIBLE!!!😆
1:55 demonic music?
Another way to get a crissaegrim is searching for a little hole in the floor, digging down and hoping the sword pedestal is real, then you have about 1 in 10 chances of getting it
Yes the hp max ups do upgrade Richter's hp, but not by much. A lil tid bit Richter gains more stats to combat the reverse castle with some amount of effective results.
Where’s our 4K remake of this absolute beauty, Konami?!
I've never seen so many attacks on dinosaur feet before in a single video. So weird.
2 runeswords.
Push both attack buttons simultaneously.
Try it for a spin.
Also, the whip loop is how I defeated Galamoth with Richter, no HP upgrades.
