- MORE MJ...sorry for the delay but here is more footage of that magical and exciting day!!
It was on October 11th, 1989, at Gardner Elementary School, In Hollywood, CA , that Michael Jackson blessed us all with his presence to be honored and have the school auditorium dedicated to him. I was in 4th grade and had been selected to present the KING OF POP with the "KEY to the SCHOOL." I was nervous but poised because i was meeting someone i admired and idolized for his creativity, music and dancing. I hope that someday they removed the boards that now cover up his name due to his child molestation allegations. Luckily prior to presenting him the "Key to the school" i was introduced to him and his entourage backstage, as an icebreaker, i remember him pulling on my "DUCK TAIL" and asking me if i was planning on growing my hair our like his. I took a long pause and was nervous to answer but i said "no, sorry." In this video we also have the Gardner Elementary Choir performing with Michael Jackson and r&B/pop group The Boys. What i think is most amazing about this whole experience is the fact Michael Jackson realized he had the power to touch and affect many lives with his music and message, and it was one of the few times int he midst of the cold war and other trials and tribulations of the last century that people could come together and sing n dance as one.
What a great Day for Michael this was! He was quiet but Proud, you can see that. And the Old Lady!!! Hilarious.......
HE looks so handsome here, a genleman......softspoken voice, nice to everone. An great example for this Cold World.

I think what i also remember after this amazing experience, when i had to head back to Ms Moore's class was the fact that since i shook his hand i had the "Michael Jackson touch" and i literally had to keep my right hand in my pockets because everyone wanted to shake my hand to steal the "touch"

This is a beautiful clip of Michael he was such a beautiful soul, he did everything with love in mind I wish to be like him one day the kind of love god said to have for everyone, he said love other's more then yourself, a perfect love and Michael had that, I will get their one day, to love asking nothing in return.

Hey Robert, thanks for posting this! I still have the VHS video we all got that day! I was in the choir that day! I remember him signing Mr. Esquivel's chalkboard, brought back a lot of memories, thank you for posting this!!!
