Yeah I have to call the 32 kg weight reduction a bs, please prove me wrong as I would really like to be . Changing the exhaust and removing indicator does nor remove 30+ kgs.
I understand your cynicism, but we weighed the bike before and after with fuel and the difference was 22lb. (not 32kg) - we might even do a video showing the weight!
@motosafarico 22 sounds more realistic, can you write parts and they weight difference that you've changed? As really isn't easy to lose that much weight on a bike. If you said 12 that's still a lot but more possible with just simple mods after that there is a loot to loose from the bike.
@@francescoporcari8597 fuck me you're right, he typed lb not kgs! What a moron, it's the new year champagne still in the head 🤣. In that case it's a different matter! Should read more and type less, bs is on me 😉

Nice build, although it’s still a heavy bike I think you have managed to reduce quite a lot of weight. It would be nice to see some videos of how it rides. I live in Shanghai, China and I ride a KTM Adv790R, which sometimes is a bit of a pig so would like to reduce weight on it in the future.
We tried Barkbusters (and a few others) and couldn't get them to fit with the ASV levers. We did find a solution in the mean-time though and will talk through this in the next video. Stay tuned!
That is pretty sick! I won't comment on the claims of the weight. I don't think I heard you address fixing the riding modes from resetting when you turn the bike off. I love the Africa Twin, I do not like having to reset modes every time I start it up. Or is that not an issue on the 2020 model versus newer?
You are right, I absolutely hated that feature on the Africa Twin and we installed the LSK Dongle for exactly this issue. I explain it in the video! It solves the problem.
Thanks for your question! For this build, we focused on reducing weight significantly. We removed the stock exhaust, O2 sensors and hardware, exhaust servo motor, catalytic converter, center-stand, chain guides, OEM crash bars, passenger pegs, rear luggage racks, license plate holder assembly, mirrors, and emissions hardware. We also opted for lightweight upgrades, including a tubeless conversion, lithium battery, lightweight sprockets, chain, handlebars, levers, and gear/brake levers. These changes resulted in a 22lbs weight reduction over stock. While it doesn't bring us into Yamaha T7 or KTM 690 territory, the combined weight savings, suspension upgrades, and ECU tuning have dramatically improved handling and performance. The term "Lightweight" in the title refers more to our goal of avoiding the traditional ADV setup with excess luggage, lighting, and accessories. Hope that clarifies, and thanks for watching!
My mate toppled over on his 2020 ATAS last May...that was the moment that put me off ever owning one...i'm pretty strong, lifting 1/4t + is even too much for me...i'll never own a GS either, they've never appealed

Can LsK dongle be used with a Africa Twin 2018 version?
I do not think so.
Why not Barkbusters?

I've dropped this bike many times, it's definitely not the same as picking up a dirt bike 🤪
Great looking bike. Would still be 15-20kgs to heavy for me though
Yeah the Africa Twin definitely has its place, but might still be too heavy for some applications. Solution: Have more bikes :)
Africa twin and lightweight in the same sentence. 🤣

Light weight? If the bike have around 150kg it's all ready heavy
