I am 66 years old I have not saved enough to retire and I am in the midst of my first major health challenge and I'm uncertain about God's care and involvement 11:52
Waiting, waiting, waiting for a job offer. My husband has been diligent in his search, he's very qualified and well liked, yet no solid offer. It's uncertain. Today we look to God, not the circumstances we are in. I am at peace.
Uncertainty has always filled my life, but the certainty of my God always filled the uncertainty. As a young boy, I was always scared and uncertain about making public speeches, but I always made them. As a young man, I was uncertain if a girl would ever be interested in me. This month, I will be married to the same wonderful woman for 57 years. As I graduated from High School with a low GPA, I was uncertain if I could obtain an Engineering Degree. With God's help I completed a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Today as a retired person, I have the uncertainty of fighting cancer for the last 5-6 years. I am certain of this, I don't have to defeat and win over cancer for Christ has already assure me and all of us a life with him... if we believe. I am 82 years old and I feel strongly He is working hard to prepare a room for me.
Step 3 of AA says, “I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God…” That was one of the most liberating days in my life in dealing with uncertainty. When one does that, there is true rest and peace in the control of God. Great help today. Thank you.

Iam blessed 🙏🏼 I am reminded now that Iam 65… that my daily attempts at “being prepared” for some unfortunate eventuality that might strike are futile and rather silly. 1 1/2 years ago a random cat scan revealed a benign brain tumor pressing on my brain stem. I’d lived with it for years without any symptoms. it had grown to the point of threatening my breathing…said the young ER doc who looked distraught as she told me the news. It Was removed & all is well for now… God most certainly shone his Light into the darkness of the ER room that ominous evening in Colorado & reminded me of his all powerful Presence with me … surrounding, guiding , protecting & providing for me “ personally”. 🙏🏼 He encouraged me with “ do not be afraid Linda “ . Those words ( spirit to spirit) changed everything! Life is very uncertain. The sweet Love Light of God does shines through my uncertainties…

Uncertainty. Embrace it. Greet it at your front door. I’m about to sell my home of 18 years and I don’t have any idea where I’m going, nor do I need to know. Far more exciting to see what unfolds and presents itself. I’m about to become an expert at not knowing. 😊 Of one thing I’m 100% sure. God does know and he will make it clear to me at the right time.
God is more concerned with who I am becoming than giving me pleasant circumstances. Uncertainty is the atmosphere required for turning me into a man of faith. “The just shall live by faith”
The serenity prayer is always a grounding moment when fear of the problem wants to flood me. Financial instability is the fear and can overwhelm me if I listen to the tauntings of the enemy. But I remember to cast my thoughts to the one who calms my soul in the storm. Thanks for your wise insights John. I look forward to tomorrow.

On an unserious note, John I'm so uncertain of what that reflection is in your glasses. Certainty of what it is would help me focus.😊 And seriously, I am very uncertain where my credibility and respect will land with my friends and family since my faith crisis led me to the decision to abandon the doctrines taught in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormonism) which I had embraced and perpetuated most of my life. (It was the reading of The Divine Conspiracy that gave me the strength to do it. I read it in 2014, and would have loved to have met Dallas Willard in person to thank him for what he has done for me....but you are second best! I LOVE what you are about! An area of uncertainty is waiting on others involved to accomplish an important task. I will endeavor to not look for certainty BUT look for God. Oh, that line!!! So refreshing and purposeful. Thank you John and Team.
Uncertainty in my life probably looks a lot like many others: employment/income and loss of liberty/peace. My greatest uncertainty though is I believe God is working in my life and am I alert enough to see it and patient enough to wait for it. I will lean in as John recommended.

My word/phrase for this year, is "lean in'. As I age and experience all that goes with the aging process, I want to 'lean in' to the uncertainty of it all Thanks for this encouragement.
I feel like I’ve been living in Uncertainty for a long time now. So I will continue to seek Gods good and perfect will for me. If/when I am to get a job, He will guide me. Actually what I told Him is that he’ll need to plop it in my lap because I have no idea what to do. Lol Oh for sure, God and I have words over this. ❤ My sister’s cancer journey is the most uncertain thing I am facing this year. ❤

I'm facing uncertainty in my job security and in my mom's health, of who I'm her caregiver. I've turned them over to God and trust that he'll guide me through the next steps.
I was my mom's caregiver...I am certain you are doing one of the hardest things we are asked to do, but am also certain you will have God's comfort all the way to the end! Praying for you!

I cared for my mother in her older years. It was one of the most challenging things I've done, but now that she's gone, I thank God for the opportunity (and many challenges) I had to serve and love her until the end of her earthly days!!

When more in life is uncertain, more is possible. The running after certainty is my angst to control, to run the show, to orchestrate Gods symphony. My struggle in this area is in dwelling on my image, managing how others regard me. I want to set me and them free from that.

My health. The day this video came out, I received a call from my doctor informing me my brain MRI suggested either a recurrence of my tumor or changes to my brain related to surgery. BIG DIFFERENCE! TALK ABOUT UNCERTAINTY! This video helped me not to assume the worst but just to trust God no matter what happens.
This was such a helpful message that I replayed it later in the day. I hate living with uncertainty and this talk really challenged me that this attitude does not reflect the faith and trust I place in Jesus. In those times (which is. hour by hour at the moment), I need to look for God instead.
I love the conclusion: lean into God in the midst of uncertainty and look for God and join in with what He is doing; perhaps fulfilling Jesus’ great commission with someone who is lost in crisis… perhaps someone who is a sheep without a shepherd…
Revisiting this video because it's just that good. I have significant uncertainty these past 8 months after leaving a failed marriage and returning to my home area. Just about everything is uncertain in my life: loss of marriage and partner, wealth, my home, some dear family, lifestyle, our future together.... Now I have uncertainty in most areas of my life. But Jesus has never been nearer or more present, and even in this devastating time I know He will bring about the good He chooses.

Not leaning into uncertainty leads to more anxiety which is unproductive for me. I have to remember to pause to breathe in God and gratefulness and breathe out worry and the need to control.
Gosh, one area? Will the cat survive without me for a week while I am at my Great-niece’s wedding? I am uncertain about many things but not about God’s presence in my life and not about ‘will things turn out for my good’.

In Al-Anon we also benefit from Step 3 by liberating us from fearful acts of controlling through turning to our Higher Power ❣️

In my oldest daughter’s life who is raising her daughter and dealing with anxiety & depression and feelings of hopelessness.
