They lost me at friction shocks for the price. Definitely not for me but great video ad always!
Yeah it would have been nice to at least have had the option to put oil in the shocks. They actually worked surprisingly well though

Never seen an outrunner come stock on a basher before.
Yeah it's a new one for me too. I've got some packs of it now and it seems to be okay though
Not to sure why this exists. Looks like a super watered down version of their x06 and x07 (or was it the x17)
I always wanted to know how an outrunner runs on a car, but this just disappoints lol
I'd imagine to make a cheaper option. It's not very fast and it doesn't handle the best but it's kind of fun especially for the size and the price.
HBX 903A is the same price and better all around, but for the money I'd get the 2995 or 2997A which comes with a center diff.
Yeah a lot of it depends on where you are and what sales are currently going on but there are definitely some good options!

Another great video.. but I disagree with a few things. Those body clips with the tabs are awesome.. most of these cars shipped with just plain metal body clips. Hosim are super durable I will say though this is the first time I've ever seen an RC was that type of motor.
Yeah I didn't really have any problem with the body clips. That being said more and more vehicles are shipped with either those tabs on them or even better with clip tethers so seeing the tabs doesn't really impress me anymore. And yeah it is a weird choice for the motor I'm sure it was done strictly for cost savings. Thanks for watching!
Never seen anything with plastic drive cups
The new Arrma groms are plastic.
Ahh traxxas tmaxx has plastic driveshafts & drive cups all the way around
have you heard of adu racing they make parts for the 6s arrma and corally models and i've heard some pretty good things about them but have not seen anyone use their parts and seem to only be on aliexpress?

Speaking of the Omni Terminator.... has anyone who pre ordered heard anything yet? I thought they were shipping the 18th but i haven't got a notification or heard a peep from them. I ordered a soon as they opened it up

Yeah it's entirely possible that someone with a bit more skill than me could do better with it though I still had a lot of fun.
I actually grew up flying RC planes and was pretty heavy into those and quads up till a few years ago. I'm sure I'll get back into them again at some point. If you go back far enough into my channel you'll see all the quads I used to fly
I have 7 quads sold one it was fpv I couldn't get used to goggles my eye sight is not what it used to be but the public freaks out at drones I hate dealing with it but people love planes its different because it does not have a camera so no drama when flying one @@DoRC
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife yeah people never really seem to worry too much about the FPV quads either especially when you're flying little ones like I used to.
For better steering adjust the turnbuckles to be slightly longer… not that hard to figure out also it’s a 45amp esc and you didn’t use a 3s on it??
The problem with the steering isn't the toe in. The problem with the steering is the fact that there's enough slop in the system that it's pointed in a different direction every time it's centered.
I didn't run it on 3S because I don't really think that the plastic drive drive train is going to survive 3S and that's really not what this truck is designed for. With the steering issues friction shocks and plastic drive shafts it's really kind of already at its limit on 2S so I didn't see any point in running it on more power.
If you want more power I'd recommend just getting the x08 or x07.
Ya they dump this moter in cars from time to time wltoys pit it in that yellow jeep/buggy thing few yrs back i think that car did pretty well on 3s but it was all metal drive idk if those plastic wheel shafts will hold 3s but i know the esc will its ok im trying it in a 2997a with a 4370kv moter its great on 2s but not shure how long it will hold 3s for it takes it but moter is lil high for 2 in 1 esc of 45a but like u say they didnt cheep out on caps so maybe it’ll b great🤷♂️
Only time will telll so this is just xinlehoang’s x-07 & x-08 platform & they have straitned out the gears & the stering on newer models does this 1 have an adjustment for the steering i noticed they made steering & hubs plastic as well may hold up just fine🤷♂️

I really didn't want to try 3S on this. I Don't think the plastic shafts could take it so didn't really see any reason to do it. It's plenty fun on 2S and for 130 bucks you do get quite a bit. The larger size of this compared to most 116th scale style cars means it's a lot more versatile in the terrain you can use it on

@@jesusgonzalezmachado believe the ESC can do 3S but I'm not sure if the axle shafts will survive it.

@jesusgonzalezmachado That I don't know. It doesn't even have a KV marked on it so I don't know what it can handle
Do not plug 3s into this esc... mine lasted 15 seconds. But fortunately for me, they feel it's cheaper for them to send me whole new car and not just esc. Esc is on Amazon for $23 so extra $23 i have extra car

Did you just compare that thing to the Omni-Terminator?? That thing doesn’t even live on the same RC planet as the Rlaarlo!! When Rlaarlo drops their 8th scale truck/truggy… it is going to blow away the top manufacturers… the bar will be raised on that faithful day… mark my words
Only in size and price. The omniterminator is definitely above this in quality.

Really? I looked at the x-08 and it appears to be $45 more expensive. Granted that's not a huge amount but it is an additional 30% or so.
@DoRC oh sorry I have never heard of the xo-8 but the xo-7 is between $230aud and $260aud down here in Australia.
You are right though, it is a little more than this one but I still think just having a MUCH better motor and good oil shocks I'd spend the extra on the xo-7 if I was to buy a Hosim👌
@@rccrazy yeah I agree that many people would just prefer to get the better version but then again the higher you go in price the closer you are to some other vehicles like the Omni Terminator which is arguably a much better vehicle. It's always a tough thing to determine value but I think as long as you understand what you're getting this can be a fun car for the money. It's big enough that it's not really limited where you can run it like the 116th cars are and it's not really that much more than some of the 116th cars.
It's all personal preference though.
@DoRC yeah that's it, many factors that come in to play when spending your money essentially when there are so many bad RCs vs their cost on the market but it all really comes down to personal preferences, we are just here to help people make a good decision base on their mindset.
But to that omni thing, talking specifically the cost here in Australia, the RRP is almost double most other budget brands and in some cases well over double.
No 1/12 rc is worth over $500 Australia dollars in my opinion😬
@rccrazy yeah that's another thing that really affects value. Geography seems to have such a massive influence on the price of rc vehicles.

Yeah I think it's going to be a little bit of a handling challenge because of the tendency for the steering to wander a little but it's still fun and it's more versatile than most of the 1/16 1/14 scale Amazon special type vehicles.
It's actually a motor that's typically used in fixed wing RC aircraft.
..right like I said it's not bad for the price I actually bought a 1/16 scale buggy from Amazon the other day part number s9ll.. it's brushed but I tell you what that little thing really gets down lol.. four wheel drive and it comes with two batteries.. lots of fun it's always good to have a smaller scale because sometimes I just don't feel like dragging my 1:10 scales around lol..

Ouch. There's always going to be a certain number of failures for any given product though. Were you using the stock batteries?
Yes jst got a defective esc exploded and motor stop working hosim sending a new one but was very unexpected
@jesusgonzalezmachado I can imagine that being a bit of a surprise but at least in my opinion the most important thing is what the company does when something goes wrong and it's good to see that they're taking care of you.

Yeah idk about this one.. friction shocks.. cheap plastic drivetrain parts.. weird motor for a basher.. seems pretty bad, at least in comparison to their X0 trucks and Hyper Go clones.
Maybe though for the price it's not too bad. It drives better than I thought it would other than the not fantastic steering and ultimately for me at least it was fun to bash and I think that's really all that matters.
@DoRC Yeah it doesn't seem terrible. I'd just spend the extra bucks on a Hyper Go 14 or Haiboxing 2997A (currently $165 on Amazon) for a much much much better RC for not much more money. I just think this thing has a place. Still would make do though, like you said
I don't care how great they look or "how great of deal" they are. The parts availability just isn't there when you need it. Hate to see when someone new to the hobby buys one then can't find parts.
Maybe though it might just depend on what your expectations are. I did spot check several common parts on this specific truck and they were all available on Amazon either next day or two-day shipping. This platform is the same as the x-08 x-07 so it's been around for a while and parts are pretty easy to get in general.. of course they're never going to be as good as Arrma or Traxxas.
@@DoRC be interesting to see how long the parts last after release. It does help when they cross platform with other models.
@@RoostedFilms I suspect these will be available For quite a while. The other models came out around a year ago and parts are still available for them. Again of course probably not as long as the big two but when you buy something like this I also feel like there's a little bit more forgiveness for that kind of thing. I feel like this is the kind of car you buy bang around for 6 months and then go buy something else. It's cheap enough that it doesn't take a whole lot of fun to justify buying one
$10 more for the Blue Gorgon... Not sure this is a great idea.
The Gorgon is definitely a good truck though it is two wheel drive versus four-wheel drive and brush versus brushless. In the long run the Gorgons probably a better truck but this thing's still pretty fun for the price
For $120 it’s a BL truck that has some shortcuts but there are plenty of part’s available a whole transaxle is like $15 for the rear so right off the bat u get a bL 1/10 truck that on a small battery runs for 20 mins starting to rethink this rig oh & hosim will send u parts when they break for up to a yr I think🕺
Yeah they have a one-year warranty and it seems like they stand by it pretty well. I agree that for the price it's not terrible and even right out of the box it's pretty fun as long as like I said in the video you understand what you're getting and don't expect too much.

Ive always been a fan of Hosim. Im surprised how badly made it is. They have always had metal drive train and bearings. What a disappointment from Hosim.
I wouldn't say this is badly made it's just made to a price. When you create something that is cheaper you have to sacrifice something and I think in this case the sacrifices they made are pretty reasonable given the stock power system. Obviously if you can swing the extra money getting the x08 or x07 would be a better option. I do think it's important to keep in mind though that this is intentionally low cost and you can't sell something for less money and keep all the same parts in it
If it's hosim don't buy it. It's all pot metal cheap you grade garbage. I bought the x08 and I've spent well over 200 dollars on parts just to drive the damn thing around the yard. You've been warned.
Weird. Ive owned several and didnt find them to be any weaker than most other Amazon specials. What parts did you replace?
@@DoRC Every single one. Swing arms, shocks, drive cups, diffs, diff housings, steering cups, motor, esc fan, batteries, tires are junk, drive trains are junk and bend if you even fart next to them. Seriously I've replaced everything on the x08 and Every time I even take it out to drive it , it breaks. No bashing at all just driving it. The drag break function is awful as well. They're junk
@@eliflynn7282 That's really weird. I've had the same model and ran it recently hard and didn't break anything. I mean they're not going to be as strong as something from Traxxas or arrma but I've never heard of anybody just breaking them driving them around. Sorry your experience has been like that.
@@DoRC you're standing by your sponsers, that's fine. I'm telling people the truth. Hosim is garbage and their customer support is just as bad. When I bought my truck the rear diff was already missing a tooth and asked for a refund because I knew it was going to be junk and they said, send us a video of what's wrong, so I did, and they offered me 40 dollars back and then asked me to pay to ship it back.
@eliflynn7282 Well I can't really speak for their customer service but if you look at the reviews on Amazon for any of their vehicles you'll see that the feedback is generally positive. Again I don't think there as high quality as first-tier manufacturers but I don't really see any evidence including in the comments of this video to indicate that their stuff is any worse than any of the other Amazon special stuff.
I'm not in any way trying to discount your personal experience I'm just saying that from what I'm seeing it doesn't appear to represent the median experience with these vehicles.
