A CHRISTIAN dad-of-four lost his pastor job after falling in love with a younger man in the deep south of America. Eric, 48, began his relationship with Matt, 27, after employing him at his demolition business. But neither man had come out as gay yet and faced judgment from their Bible Belt community. Eric told Truly: “It's not acceptable in [the community], it was difficult.” The couple are now married but when they first met Eric was a pastor with four children. He explained how their local community reacted to the news, “our hometown is mostly conservative, I was immediately dismissed from my post.” The age gap also added to the public backlash, “they think we're just dad and son”, Matt explained. He even had a family member who said, “somebody will kill you.”

This is a prime example of modern Christians cherry picking which verses to follow out of the Bible, and ignore the ones they don't like. Just so everyone knows the ex-wife of the pastor is remarried to a nice man and they all actually get along and see each other frequently. The said thing is the same thing happened to my moms best friend but she found someone else too. People need to be honest in who they are and not be ashamed.

Ngl I feel the wife's pain. It's kinda like a reverse. I dated a girl and I really loved her a lot, and she showed me love back (I'm a girl) after two years of being together she started to drift away from me for some reason and I felt really insecure, a week later, she broke up with me, saying that she wasn't in fact bisexual and that she was straighter then the hair on her head- it's pretty straight BTW. I was crushed hella, I'm glad she found herself, but she shouldn't of been in a damn relationship with me if she was just experimenting. It kinda hurt- so I can't imagine how the wife must feel
