- Blind Elderly Veteran was unaware he had a bed bug infestation for several months. We found them living all throughout his home. He was lucky to be informed of the issue, as the driver saw bugs crawling on him and his clothing on the way to his doctor appointment. Bed Bug Treatment for him was very important to us. We helped treat the bed bugs and supply him with new bedding.

It hurts my heart to know that there are elderly people out there who don't have their family caring for them the way my family cared for my grandparents. 😢 I can only imagine the love he felt from complete strangers and the joy it brought to him to know that he wasn't forgotten about 💜💜💜

Very true. As a comparison Australian war vets get much better monitoring, immediate can much more easily get real help, support, accommodation, free transport especially to health centres / hospitals, all totally free and quickly get high pensions and permanent disability allowances. allowances

This is why I spend time with my grandparents and elderly neighbors that I’m close with when I can. These people truly are left in the dark when they live alone, and they get lonely even though they may not admit it. This is heart shattering, I hope he gets some support to actually help with him with his blindness.

I worked at a nursing home, and older fella was brought in, very similar, non-ambulatory, blind, and pretty nervous about people. He had a “friend taking care of him” but he did not care if he had poop on him, his nails were extremely long and yellow. He got bed sore because during the day he would scratch the day girls, and be aggressive so they’d often not tend to him as well as the other people that lived there(Al elderly), when my shift started overnight the girls would always give me a run down on how mean he was, so he’s “ready for me” in a joking tone, what that really meant was they hadn’t checked on him in a while. I’d always go straight to him. His biggest thing was he like to be told everything you were going to do, he didn’t like to be grabbed without warning at all. I believe the girls were not conscious enough of how his vision effected his psyche. If you told him every move your we’re gonna make and talked to him kindly he was very agreeable. It’s sad because these guys build up defense mechanisms and people think they’re mean, but they’re just misunderstood.

It’s because you have a good soul and you seem to be a beautiful person and I think this person knows this. My mom is 94 and I’m blessed to be taking care of her in my house. thank you for your patience .

Im also lonely, i know that its ass, but at least i know i can do something about it.
When getting older you could theoretically do something too, but most dont for obvious reasons.
And its ecspecially heartbreaking to see, if its seniors that are still very active, walking around in the big city, all alone just by themselfs.
And you see this tired expression on their faces that just shows how fed up they are with all of this and that shows the loneliness and unhappiness.
Thats what i mean when im saying that i hope they somehow get it all back, but i mean this basically for everyone not just for old ppl

Only 50-40% of people bitten by bed bugs have any reaction to the bite. Some people who have them don’t even realize if it’s not a big population in the housing. Most infestations are not as big as this one. Add on the fact that bed bugs spread no diseases a lot of people don’t know they have a problem.
@@jaysautoandmore1771- they heat up the entire living space. The bedbugs can’t survive the heat. They can’t survive temperatures of 115 F or 45 C for more than 90 minutes. You heat your house to this temperature for a full 24 hours to kill every bed bug and egg in the house.

I had a bad bedbug infestation without knowing once. The way the symptoms slowly appeared...the bites, dark spots, seeing things moving on the wall in your peripheral vision. I had no idea I was being eaten alive for weeks so when I found out it shocked me so bad, I think it gave me a phobia of bed bugs. Possibly even a little PTSD.
I had PTSD from a bed bug infestation ironically and I spent 5 years as an exterminator go figure..
Veterans never get the respect they deserve. It's truly upsetting.

Oh ok..in my country,after someone retired from government sector,( army,police or any work from government) they will get pension until they died..after they died,the pension will continue to their wife/husband and until their children over 18 year.the calculation of their pension half or their previous salary.. example if they get 5k per month,the pension is 2.5k..

This is exactly why we take care of our parents. My sister and I watch over them always. One might think it's ridiculous living with my parents but I am so happy it was possible. I stay with them, make sure their needs are met. I want my kids to appreciate and love them. I cry hoping my parents get to meet all their grandchildren. Brings tears to my eyes watching my daddy give so much love to my babies. He's even more affectionate with them then he was with us. Sometimes the way one is raised, like living in a machismo society holds you back from showing your love. My father, I guess felt ridiculed by his father for showing his softer side which is sad.
I married a man with the same family values, he's Pakistani and it's not uncommon to live with parents. Eventually, the kids start running the home when parents can't, then it's our responsibility to provide and care for them. It shouldn't be a burden. We need to take care of the elderly like we take care of our babies. If this were more common in families, you would see no more nursing homes. I used to work at a nursing home, it was so heartbreaking at times. Sometimes when I would sit and chat, the residents would feel so much gratitude, appreciation just from being heard. The elderly deserve the best quality of life available because one day some of us will be in that position. Take care of your old folks people, they deserve to live with dignity and respect.

As a US marine you’re talking about maybe 10% of the military. I had a “combat mos” so I deployed to an actual war zone but most are like cooks and non combat jobs. I didn’t understand until I joined either. I thought a deployment was going to war but it’s not. I had friends who “deployed” to South Korea. It’s more like a paid college than anything man. We definitely get over thanked.

Being a veteran doesn’t mean you should give up being responsible or expect to be taken care of. I’m a veteran of over 20years, didn’t file for disability and I don’t expect anything for the government. Civilians have done and continue to do just as much as veterans and no one talks about helping them. Bottom line, there are consequences in life so be mindful of your decisions.
I handle disability claims and it’s sad to hear every veterans story, people who clearly should be receiving benefits and just get denied over and over again. It’s really sad.

I went through this situation, this bed bugs are torture at night time, once you turn off the lights they'll come out and start biting very badly. For six months I was tortured by bedbugs. Every night after nine 🕘 pm to three 🕒 am. I used to catch bedbugs from bed and put them in a water bottle. It was horrible experience in my life.
Our government really need to take care of our veterans. They deserve our utmost respect and need to be taken care of especially when they get to this age.
