Such a kind and gentle way to handle a swarm. So grateful for beekeepers like you. They deserve our grace-as we all do.
I think I love this catch method. It looks so gentle. These girls are beautiful!
Totally agree about Swarming It is magical I am 3rd Generation Bee Keeper I have been treatment free for 23 years now and always have plenty of empty hives for my bees to swarm into naturally. There is only one thing as good as the sound of a swarm and that is the sight of them all marching in.
If you you treat them with kindness and respect the Bees will never leave your land. Obviously have to have the forage for them aswell. The only time I would tell people not to let them swarm is if they have close neighbors or very small gardens that will not support the expansion.
💛💛💛💛
That is SO cool😁 I Hope she had a the "Time of he Life."👍 It is so awesome you get to share that with your Grandma and Mom. Blessed Days...
She thought it was so cool!!
I love the walk down method, so gentle.
You and your grandmother are adorable, I love your calm voice you are so at ease.
My husband came by while I was watching and immediately was captivated! It’s so soothing and watching you talking softly to them and being slow and gentle….just awesomely amazing! I’ve learned something old for sure! If I was younger…..thank you!!❤
💛💛💛
My wife came past while watching and asked if I would leave her for Kaylee. I said without a second thought. A Beekeepers dream women :)
Beautiful. And thanks for sharing. Fellow herbalist here and brand new beekeeper. I caught my first swarm a couple of weeks ago. I'm definitely going to try this walk-down method with the next swarm.
How cool!!! I’ve never seen that method of just letting the girls walk down onto the frame. Learn something new every day!! Thanks for sharing this and your grandma too.
It is definitely helpful when it comes to finding the queen!
Love watching swarms. Winter of 21-22 I lost all my hives like 6-5 hives. Said I was done, didn't have time. Kept saying how much I missed them. God heard me and had other plans. I did not clean up the bee yard, and hives last year, life got in the way. Yesterday I was out in the garden and saw bees around one hive. Then did a walk around and saw bees at another hive. Inspected last night one hive even had capped brood, the other one had just eggs. Decided if God wants me to do this might of well add another hive. So this morning I went and bought a nuc and have placed it. Now back to walking the yard and watching the bees. Want to prepare another hive for swarms. Bees are swarming like crazy here. A neighbor caught a swarm last week. Love all your videos and always learn something new.
I love this so much!!!!
It's so great to see kind and gentle practices exemplified. Thanks for sharing 😊.
Wow every time I see you do this I’m in total amazement at the wonders god has shared with us…thank you so much for the thrills…stay blessed
I've not seen this method of catching swarms using the frames. It's so cool to watch and, I bet, a lot less stressful for all parties involved.
You have filmed one of the coolest ways to catch a swarm and including your grandmother is what life is about! Great job 🎉
Young Lady, Such a beautiful Queen!!! I truly hope that this colony prospers for you all.... I just love to capture and rehome a swarm.... Blessings to you and Graandmother.... Rick
💛 thank you Rick!!
Awesome job! You made it look so easy even though I know it was a challenge. Thanks for sharing & teaching us so much. Tell grandma we said hello. 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻😇❤️🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
Awesome. Thanks for filming this. Handling a camera and holding a frame while bees climb on is proof of your bee keeping experience and filming expertise . I would have forgot to turn the camera on and then most of the shots would be sky or grass.
It was a challenge, but so happy to have been able to share 💛
this was awesome! I love your videos, so informative!
Love the Swarm. Nature in action. Just like you, doing your thing when they swarm. Kaylee in action and doing your thing.
🐝✨💛
@@TheHoneystead Just like my Poem, I wrote for you. Magical indeed..
Love how gentle and thoughtful you are with the bees!
Those that have not ever experienced a swarm in flight do not understand that feeling. Good stuff Kaylee. . Hope all is well your way.
Catching all the feelings 💛💛💛💛
@@TheHoneystead Such precious memories having your grandma there. .
💚 Lovely, so cool to watch you with your Girls! Seems like SO many bees for that hive..looks very crowded, and they're gonna make more! 💚
Every time you catch a swarm I still listen carefully for the queen to sing! Once heard, you never forget it, that's for sure! Thanks for this catching feelings moment. 🐝
I was hoping to hear her sing, but apparently she was a little shy 💛
I love swarms!
Yesterday my wife asked me why a crow was squawking so loudly. So I looked in the direction of the crow and started listening. Something was different in the sound coming from my apiary. I went to investigate and found a swarm hanging in a tree. I used the as you call it the walk down method too. I didn't have the clean frames like you. I had a dead out with stinky frames so 5 of the 8 frames had to be scraped. I have 5 freshly waxed frames today. Because I charged am Amish beekeeper 5 frames as a fee for hauling bee supplies.
Truley magical~ Thanks so much for taking us along!🕊
I love watching you with your bees, seeing grandma go with you is pretty awesome. Watching the two of you together makes me miss my grandma so much. She would have loved these videos!
You are amazing ❤
Watching this has convinced me to get my first hives.
I’ve been watching your herbal vids too and making tinctures and salves
So glad you decided to be on UA-cam x
Glad you was able to catch the swarm
You never fail to impress me with your skills Kaylee!
nice to see them march , nice video , glad Grandma could see this in her lifetime. Great recovery of Bees.
That was such a gentle catch of Feelings...I will be sure to try.
It’s slower, but worth it if you have the time!
Catching swarms is so gratifying!
Perfect timing, I was getting questions from friends about swarming and this really shows how the sky is filled with bees.
Isn’t it amazing 🙌🙌🙌
@@TheHoneystead I both love and hate swarms. Love them because they are so cool and hate them because they scare people who don't understand them. Like the new in California last week where a guy invaded a large hive resulting in very defensive behavior and swarm like skies. The idiot made them defensive by ripping the hive apart in a building, then the media made it seem like this was normal bee behavior when they swarm. All of the swarms I have capture have been so mellow except for the number of bees flying around. I am constantly trying to educate people on bee behavior, and it is an uphill battle when the stupid media published bad information...
Love your videos!
That was AMAZING TO SEE!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING❤❤🐝🐝🐝❤❤❤
You're the first UA-cam producer. I saw a show of that. You are using the walking on frame technique. I've seen a couple of others do it. I enjoyed learning from you and other teachers. I've been around bees my whole life. Hopefully, 2024, I'll be able to start this adventure myself. Thank you for the learning opportunity.
Let’s start a trend!!! 💛💛💛
That's genius. I'll remember that gor our next time, swarm catching. ❤😊
🙌🙌🙌
Fascinating!! Thanks for sharing that!
💛💛
I love to see this and I think it is so lovely that you involve your grandmother in the whole process. The way you are handeling the bees is so impressive!
Great video! Can't wait to catch my first swarm 🐝🌼💜✌️
I caught my first swarm a few weeks ago. I felt the vibration in my hands and experienced the smells!
Adore watching the bee videos! The sound they make is so soothing!🎉
Isn’t it?!? I love it so much
WOW!!…..just WOW!💞
It is beautiful, and I’m not sure why , but it is. Also, I learned this walk down method from you earlier this year and have had the opportunity to use it. I definitely prefer it over shaking them down.
It’s absolutely beautiful 💛💛💛
Nice & easy! Loved it!
Swarm season can drive you crazy with the drive to get and build equipment to house them can drive you crazy like tops and bottoms and waxing frames!
i'm FINALLY getting better at spotting the queen!
Great swarm catch and video! Walking in the swirl of a swarm and catching them is an amazing experience! 🐝
It truly is 💛💛💛
Very interesting! I always wonder do many bees get squished when you put the top on and off or the panels inside.
All that buzzing is relaxing to listen to🥰
It does sometimes happen, but I move slowly and gently 💛
just came across you on youtube its nice to see some one connected to nature and always learning cool
Wow, thnx so much for showing the capture !!!!
Amazing footage! Thanks for sharing! ❤
YOU ARE THE BEST!!
Mesmerizing!!❤
I also can't believe you can find the queen with so many bees!!!
😎
This was absolutely amazing. I’ve always wanted to have my own hives, and this really inspired me. Thank you so much for sharing! You’re such an inspiration where do you live that you have your homestead?
In Virginia 💛
Wow, what an amazing video. I want bees for the many benefits they provide. Pollinating my orchard, berries, garden and flowers. I also am excited about the honey, bees wax and propolis. I have bear that already tore up my neighbor's hives. Also I am highly allergic to bees so your video on what I would have to do freaked me out and I have changed my mind. 😵💫 It brings me back to the day I cut down a tree with a hive and was stung more than 60 times and almost died. That's when I became highly allergic. So no thanks, unfortunately I am going to have to pass but I sure admire you for what you do. 🥰
You did very good.!!!
So amazing..
In Albania, we clap our hands, and sometime spray water in the air in such ocassions and bees geather toghether nearby and fly not to far away... I enjoyed the video and yes, it was a large colonie. :)
Thank you Kaylee for showing me this technique. I'll try it on my honeybee swarms in Hawaii. Shalom
Thank you for sharing. That's so cool.
💛🐝
Great stuff that was a pretty big swarm. I keep swarm traps out up here in West Virginian I have been Blessed this year to see two swarm’s move into their new home. Hope you all are doing well and great to see your grandmother get to experience this with you.
Awesome!
I always take a box and put a little bit of swarm commander on the inside and set it in the swarm and they will go right to the box.
Nice idea, with the comb.
This is so fascinating, thank you for filming this rehoming…I’m often left wondering why when so many bees had landed on the branch there are still so many still flying around waiting for somewhere to land….seems odd they wait so long? Also, you mentioned seeing swarm cells in a hive, is there a difference between these and the usual cells you’d see please?
❤your 🐝 🐝 footage
That was awesome-sauce!
we're in the thick of swarm season in NY and ive been lucky enough to successfully catch 3 in the last week, plus one that was a call for a swarm (but moved in to a roof) that had a queen laying on the ground with some attendants! had some duds from being up too high in trees, and not wanting to come down in a bucket, but i'll take 4 new colonies of free bees.
amazing
All I can say is that is a lot of bees great job filming that had to be hard
Lol it was a little challenging, but I’m so glad I was able to capture it!
As someone new to trying to create a regenerative herbal garden I would love to see how you harvest and store seeds for next year. My goal is to only buy 1 of each plant and just let them spread over time to create enough that I will have enough for the entire year. I even bought a bay leaf tree because I use a ton of bay leaves.
Best video ever
I got this on my recommendation, i don't own any bees buts its relaxing just watching this. God bless
Bees are l❤ves
Wow, that was a great and very informativbe and educational video. Thank you!
Very nice
Wow 😮😮😮
That’s is a lot of bees man. I would be screaming and running away.
Wow
Whew my arms are tired just watching you 😮💨
Lol hey… it’s my free workout!
You are a great woman Miss, beekeeping to produce quality honey requires patience and perseverance. be careful even though you are wearing protective clothing, May God bless you🙏🙏😆
Wow! I love your method of catching this swarm. I'm impressed 😊thank you for sharing.
💛💛💛
WHAT ever been stung repeatedly by swarming honeybees? It's amazing alright that your able to get away and live. LA DEE DA LA LA LA
Hmmm… most bees that are swarming are not as defensive, because they have nothing to protect. We’re they swarming or did you just come near a colony of honeybees unknowingly?
Great catch..glad it Was low.
Idk if bees swarming is something I would have fun being in the middle of lol you do you girl
Lol that’s ok! That’s why I love sharing with others who haven’t or wouldn’t experience it!
After seeing that technique , I was thinking , perhaps we could make a device that screws , or clamps to the tree limb in two places, then it would have an arm like a robot arm that would hold the frame for you, you would the. Move the arm to the bees in position , lock it in place ,let them walk on in their own time and go collect the frame , load another one and keep doing it.
This would allow you to stand back and and reduce the risk on the ladder and the stress of holding the frame to the bees.
Just an idea, I could build such. Device to do that.
❤❤❤
So fun! And where is your beautiful necklace from?
I’m not sure where, but I wish I knew someone to help make them! #mustardseed
Thanks sooo much for sharing hun . We’re abouts are you situated , are you an Ozzie or out of Australia ?. I noticed the Kangaroo on your awesome Bee 🐝 suit 🙂👍🙏 I love your energy around the bees .
They are!! I do like them!!
I am 42 years-old and, despite seeing honeybees pollinating around my yard my entire life, last year was the first time I got to witness a swarm. They hovered over our pool for several minutes, then they moved over my neighbor's backyard and then they floated up to to the pine tree canopy in the woods behind our house. It was such a spectacular sight to see.
Oh I bet that was amazing!
MY SISTER in TX does bees....Not as Advanced as u seem tho😊..Too Koool
How long have you been homesteading and how did you learn?
Hi❤
Have you ever used a bee drum? We use one to make them settle sooner
So interesting. Do honey bees swarm all over the country? I live in WI, I've never seen this before. Sorry if it's a silly question, maybe this happens all the time. It sounds scary when you hear all of that buzzing. You guys are so brave! So glad you are there to help them. I do know honey bees are super important.
They do! It’s their way of reproducing and growing!
❤❤❤لقد أحببت طريقة ممتازة و مختصرة
❤
Most times they come home
Did you see where Biden signed an international agreement that we would stop growing food. Please Stock up on food and grow your own food. Thank you for everything you’re doing to help everyone learning about homesteading and the bees!
What are you talking about? What are your sources?
