Hi, the expansion packs sounds great. I just bought my MPC live 2 and will be purchasing these packs. Do they install into the MPC like the other expansion packs from Akai?

Yes they do, there will be a folder that’s automatically generated by the MPC desktop software. It’s called “Expansions” I have a video on the website that walks through the process. You can always email me [e-mail] if you need further guidance. Thanks Ben

Are the fx part of multi-samples or they from using the mpc’s plugins?

The FX are all programmed in the channel strip. They can be totally edited or removed. Hope this helps.
