Dont know if you remember but bought the LA guitar pack. Just wanna say im making a awsome cover of Christopher Cross " Sailing " The strats sounds the same , amazing quality , same goes for Robert Plant " Big Log " . When i can i probably reach out again for a drum pack , something allround. Started making music only since 1.5 yr ago , so to hear this song like this is incredible.

Thanks Ben for the tutorial! How can I download and save the MPC Expansions to an external drive instead of to my Mac HD? I don't want these expansions taking up space on my internal disk on my Mac, but I want them to be installed on an external SSD which I connect to my Mac which stores all my sound libraries as well as the Sata drive I installed in my MPC.

Does it come with sounds in it? Or do you need to plug it in the computer first, then download the sounds into the unit?

Hello, I have the ARX-01 card, well maybe it is, well it is cool, BUT, BUT... it causes problems when importing GM2, GS and other song.MIDI files. It turns out that the scale of Drum sounds in Roland, e.g. BK-9 is from 22 Bb0 to 103 G7, Fantom G is from 28 Bb1 to 100. In ARX-01 it is from 34 B 1 to 57 (A3). And that nothing can be done, the setting is permanent. Don't Roland engineers have enough awareness to provide several maps of standard settings for different instrument modules?

I just bought an FA-06 for just over £400 which has 2000 Integra-derived sounds, and it has 2 virtual card slots into which you can load 11 expansions which are effectively almost the full SRX library, which is free to download! Way cheaper than the Integra, plus you get a good sequencer, sample pads and a decent keyboard. I think this was an amazing deal!

You don't need original hardware ROMPLERS of any kind, or digital keyboards. They're just Romplers. All can be reproduced exact1 to 1 on any digital sound. The ONLY difference people hear are slight differences in FX. YOU NO LONGER NEED A HARDWARE ROMPLER if you have the software.

Thanks for making and sharing your experience! I just got my new Integra-7 yesterday (still can't believe I found one new in a sealed box locally in 2025!). From all the excitement, I hooked it with my new iPad Air 13" via the rock-solid USB-A adapter that you mentioned (only that mine is USB-C to USB-A), which worked flawlessly. The only thing I missed is that my iPad doesn't get charged at the same time. From the amount of adapters we buy and until watching your video I completely forgot that I bought the new USB-C Digital AV Adapter along with my iPad! Grabbed it from my bag and hooked it to the setup. Works like charm. :) From what I found, once you hook an iPad to the USB-B port of the Integra, you can't connect it to the computer anymore as the only USB host port is utilized by the iPad. So the only way to connect it with a computer in this setup is via the 5Din MIDI connectors. Is that how you connected yours to your DAW? Also, the Integra could be used as a MIDI and Audio interface, so you don't need to hook analog cables to your speakers to hear its signals. It requires to change the Integra's USB driver in the unit (Menu -> Settings -> USB Driver) to VENDER (MIDI+AUDIO) and then in Windows to open the Sound Control Panel -> Recording tab -> and then to double click on the Integra audio interface to enter its Properties. In it, navigate to the Listen tab and tick the "Listen to this device" option (leave your "default playback device" untouched - this should route the signal to your sound card interface). I was trying to do the same where the iPad is the computer in order to hear the signal from the iPad speakers, but the app doesn't seem to see the Integra if the USB port is set to VENDER (MIDI+AUDIO) but only when it's GENERIC (MIDI only).

If you want to buy expansions for the mpc key 61 & install them, do you need a computer to do so?

Also, with the upgrade… Could I upgrade the MPC key 61 to 8 GB or 16 GB?

Ben, I don’t know if you remember or not but I was one of the first guys if not the first guy to buy some of your sounds. With guitars, basses and some drums. I would love to know what drums you were using in this video and how to get some of the other sounds you have. Also, tell me what guitars you were using just to make sure that I don’t buy the same ones I already bought from you. Love the sounds. Hope all is well and you have a happy new year.

The mpc 37 is immediate I had one but got the mpc x se instead due to ram and it loads the plugins so much faster I am prob getting a op xy next

Great information to know. Question if you brought your MPC new and want you upgrade the ram, does this void your warranty?

If I need more RAM, I just use the Key 61 or the MPC software. Thought about it but I’ll adapt if needed. It isn’t like I’m constantly running out of RAM. The One and Live II cover most of what I need and I have options if they don’t.

I agree, the MPC keys 37 is my favorite form factor... haven't had any ram issues yet, but may look into the 4g upgrade. Thanks for the video.

I've hit the limit on my OG Live and X a couple of times. I've been considering this ever since I saw the post of them showing the upgrade. I think this will be a good investment and it's way cheaper than buying another unit just for 2gb. Thanks again for the video

Hi Ben. Does it tire your arms or feel uncomfortable a lil bit to use the mpc x? It seems like it’s hard to get it in a comfortable workflow position, like where you have it sitting, you have to do big arm movements to use it. Does that get tiresome at all? Asking because I’m thinking about getting one. Love your channel man, best MPC channel on UA-cam IMO. Plus your music is beautiful.& really inspiring.

Hey Ben, love your videos! My favorite being "Akai MPCX work flow.One of the greatest..." I used to compose in Reason and software DAWs years ago. Had an mpc1000 and a mpc5000 at one point but never got into the workflow and sold them. Being older now I miss composing and have been wanting to get back into it. Your videos are fun to watch.

Hey Ben, do existing owners get the updated packs?

I no longer integrate those plugins with MPC. But if you looking to use them with MPC you’ll have to pipe the midi into the MPC but you have to rely on syncing the computer and MPC if in stand alone or you need to run the desk top MPC and open the plugin the MPC DAW. Either way there’s no drag and drop, at least for now.

Peace Beautiful evening to you. Did i hear you correctly about mpc x being to upgrade its ram? I thought it was solder to the motherboard and was not upgradable, thus the mpc se. If it is, do know a reputable person/place that does it?
