MPC Day One: Sequence Panel Functions
i think this is probably the smarter way to do it... they release the new OS with "limitations"... then release new hardware that doesnt have those "limitations" with the new OS.... its much better to do it that way, than to release the new hardware first, then port the same OS with less features to older machines
I believe we are at the last of the era of the current generation MPCs. I have a feeling Akai is going to start replacing each of the current MPC models with new versions containing updated hardware, faster processor, more ram, etc.... Maybe the MPC X SE and Key 61 will be around for a while because they already have 4GB of ram, but I have a feeling the MPC Live II, Key 37, and MPC One will be updated with newer 4GB ram models. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the MPC One was dropped altogether and replaced by the Key 37. I can see the Key 37 just being a better overall option for the entry-level price point because it is still very portable and it already has a keyboard, whereas an MPC One plus external midi controller makes for a clunkier setup. I think the Key 37 should be updated not only with 4GB of ram, but also with an expansion bay for an SSD. It only makes sense considering the fact it is a keyboard and the new 3.0 software has a disk streaming feature.
New MPC with real proces rs, like M3 OR more and more ram... I think it's time for a real change.
How do you install 3rd party MPC Expansion Packs into MPC Studio
Mpc studio is a controller, but using the mpc desktop software, you can use 3rd party expansions…
lol thats not tube digga
One is just more REVERBY!
HEY Ben, any way to chop and play sample chops with the keys on the MPC Key 61?
You can play chopped samples from the Keyboard but only after they’re assigned to a Pad.
@@park171 Sure enough, thanks
Now with the latest firmware release, it should be more intuitive.
I really like the look for the new mpc 3
Me too, but I’m still pretty good with 2.15 if they release a desktop firmware, the ill switch over….ill keep my fingers crossed
Good video and valid questions. I made a live stream about MPC 3 yesterday and the only concern really that I have is if we’re gonna have to use the touch screen way more than on 2.0. I hope not as one of the reasons I like the MPC is to be more hands on and get away from spending 99% of our lives looking at screens lol.
I agree. I’m seriously thinking of not updating for that reason.
@@PabloDeModeOfficial yeah man… we shall see..
I feel that it’s going to be touch focused.
The fact that the stem plugin needs more juice says everything. Akai is about to bring the juice. Plus, Roger Linn is lurking around.
Great question, I believe the software is delayed because of the new MacOS (we know how it goes with Macs). Akai is definitely doing a public beta to ensure the new hardware launch is smooth. The new hardware will be a beast being able to handle warping samples and stem separation better in standalone. It will have to offer multiple USB C connections one for connecting to the software and the other as an interface connection to sent 16 ins and out. All hopes, but for sure they will add some APC64 features.
yep, simple example, the edit programm button is confusing for new people since there are no more programms to edit, only trracks. Akai wants to release new hardware with the proper writing above the buttons.
@@mb2776 lol yeah that’s definitely part of the plan.
If they made new hardware that could load 3rd party vsts I would throw money at them for new hardware
Yessir. Price be damned, shut up and take my money.
It won’t
This is not happening anytime soon. We can ask for it as much as possible but I wouldn't hold my breath.
@@MM-do5yx yeah that would be crazy… but at the same time.. I do like simplicity and not having a million options all the time.
They won’t do this
It seems reasonable that new hardware would come to exploit MPC 3.0. Only Akai knows for certain.
Yes indeed… wouldn’t doubt by November either a mini mpc or a live III
Way to go without being a hater. Appreciate you.
Thanks, I’m pretty well depth with NI Maschine, so if something goes crazy with AKAI, ill still have option. Although NI seams to have issues, especially for their Kontrol MK3, ugggg…
Yes , more hardware is coming.
It always is
Good observations Ben!
Hmmm, why title the video "MPC Firmware" and show other people's footage of MPC 3 for standalone, when you're talking about the desktop software on your Mac?
right lol
The devil I do know versus the devil I don't. Frankly, I never cared much for the Force so I don't get how it's going to make things better. I'll try it but may be stuck at 2.15.
Force is still cool, cell based recording still offers things Mpc can’t do..
Good vid B, as always. You might wanna trim it at 7:08 forward. Looking forward to your further observations of mpc 3.0.
I know. I’m going to. lol.
I have a m1 Mac Pro that runs the mpc software , I’m able to get plugins aswell ,
Thanks for you’re insight.
What problems are/were you having ?
@@nick2128hi. It’s pre mature CPU over load. Buffer of 512 was the lowest I could set. That was for just play back. Not even tracking.
I KNOW CRAZY RIGHT❓️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Hello Ben 👋
Hey. What’s up!
Hi Ben, love your sounds and the fact you use your mpc for more traditional composing like me, just a note about the m1 Mac, I am a little confused,, I run my keys 37 in controller mode pretty much all the time and make a lot of use of all my vst and Audio Units, I have an m1 Mac mini and have never had i issues running the MPC Software alongside the keys, apart from the fact that vst3 is not supported and for some reason I have to use the audio unit versions of some plug ins as the software will not find some of the vst versions?
That totally possible with your M1 Mac. I had sent all the bench marks with hard ware tests to Akai and they also had me send some of my sessions to them as they recrated similar tests to see if the issues could be repeated. I wish they hat pointed out in the email they had sent as to specifically the issues they were. Thanks for the update.

Hi Ben I guess the convergence with the force was not expected... right? LOL. The force community has been waiting for the next update for 2 months.
It’s finally a convergence of coolness that MPC hack has now sorry of became for real.
i was using the sampler and i guess i didnt enable monitoring so my sample is only coming out of one speaker is there a way to fix the sample after you've already recorded it bro
Dropped today ans it's Massiveeeee
Imma let you finish, but ALL OUT - AMPD is the best guitar solution fully sampled from real guitar through analog outboard gear on MPC. 😅
Hwy Ben, are the effects I hear like reverb or delay baked into the patches? Thanks
No, they’re all programmed and can be alerted or muted….
Great explaination and great playing too! thank you
Man too advance for me I need the basics lol
Does this work for any instrument/keygroup? I tried changing my LFO/Mod wheel settings to match what you did, but the sound doesn't change at all. Pitch bend worked though.
Nevermind, the LFO was working but I didn't set the keygroup note range correctly.
It’s very limited, the mod matrix is horrible
Most excellent Ben!!!
You are the best bro👍🏽
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That Thin E Pees sounds great. The work seems meticulously done. Do any patches have loop points set for drones?
He MG. No drones
🟢🟢🟢🟢🟢🟢🟢🟢🟢 Best Addition to my MPC This Bundle Rocks Period.. Thanks Ben🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thanks so much, I totally remember the day you purchase the bundle.
Good idea I'll give that ago in software, I don't have a MPC.
Ben, great video Am looking for strings (harp, violin, upright bass..), brass (trumpets, trombones, sax, flutes),woodwinds, tuba Trying to build my sound library now I have all of the drums I need (ea Ski drum) however I know it's not possible to get all of these in one bundle Can you recommend a place to shop
F9 instruments... Probably would be a good start in regards to the MPC x
Great video and walkthrough, brother! I've been so busy over the summer and haven't even spent much time in my studio or with my MPCX. Just hearing these sounds again reminds me that I want them all and will eventually get them after all the gigging subsides from the busy season. Hoping all is well my friend 🙏🏼🎹
I was just in Minneapolis during the holiday, great place!
@@park171 Man, you should've hit me up! Next time don't hesitate!! ;)
Some of the most amazing sounds available on any workstation. bar none. Thank you for the excellent work Ben
Ben, your sampling skills are excellent.
Thanks much.
Good work. Sounds good brother.
Thanks for listening
🔥👊🧡👍🔥
I'm a drummer, that's good 👍
Yes. Thanks

Straight funky!
What's insane is that I have an actual guitar (Godin xtsa) with a midi out. I want to control a guitar simulator with a real guitar.
That sounds cool.
