What's amazing to me is the wireless signal strength to receive live video from far away, from between the unit and a cell phone. I would have liked to see more close up detail video of stuff closer to the ground, but far away from you. The high altitude stuff is cool though. I see great potential for this tech.

Thanks! Yeah what has amazed me more is that the video clarity exceeds that of the GoPro HERO3+ Black IMO. DJI has really nailed it with this one. It truly is a top-of-the-line RTF quadcopter for capturing exceptionally smooth video. I wish that it could do 60FPS at 1080P but can't have everything I guess =)
You are right ! DJI have really come up with something special here. 10 years ago you would have needed a helicopter, pilot, cameraman and very expensive kit to get these shots. Rumour has it, that the GoPro 4 which is about to be released will have 1080 at 120 fps :-) I think you might like that !
IrixGuy's Adventure Channel the quality of the black will exceed that of the dji on the right settings. the gopro videos tend to have to be edited to get the best colors and clarity. not dogging the dji cam as it is very nice. but in the end the go pro is more capable. i could settle for the + though. its definitely nice for what it is.

Thanks! Yeah, I filmed this one with the stock DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus which has the DJI-branded camera and gimbal built-in! Feel free to check out my other videos too! Some of them I filmed with the DJI Phantom 1.1.1 but most of my newer ones will be filmed with this DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ It's an awesome piece of equipment =)

Very nice video, but I would be careful. Intentionally surveilling people from the air without their knowledge might be illegal. It could be an invasion of privacy. Im not sure if it is because they are out in public, but if they believe they are being "spied on" you could get into some trouble. Not to mention its not helping the hobbyists in their fight to keep private use of these things legal. This type of use is exactly what people fear, and will eventually lead to the demise of the use of aerial drones as a hobby. It would really suck if you had to apply for a permit every time you wanted to use one of these.
a few questions...how high can you go? How fast can you go? and how do you know how far away you can go from the controller?
PalousePosse94 I've gotten it up to around 46mph. High/far is same thing.....it usually gets sketchy past 1400 feet or so.
What were your settings on the video? 1080i/30? Yours is the first one I have seen without jitters as you go in a circle. Would like to use the settings in mine thanks.

I have not encountered the problem personally but have heard that several people have had problems with it overheating. How hot is it where you fly?
Loved the video very much, Do you know why the phantom fc40 is the only phantom that has zoom? Even Yuneec, solo or anything I look at. I have a phantom fc40 and q500 typhoon.
Bill Mattison I'm guessing that it likely makes the controls easier to setup and the cost of the camera stays lower.

It's been five months since you uploaded this video. How is your vision plus flying? Any quality issues you faced so far?
I have not had any issues. It has been an awesome aerial filming rig. I'm actually on my second one now because I crashed my first P2V+ into a tree(my fault). I'm a BIG GoPro guy as well but this one takes the cake for aerial video and photo. Check the link within this video's description. I have posted the various accessories that I use for the P2V+
i recently just bought a phantom 2 vision plus v3. i was researching for months now. i get home and start to go through it i cant sync my phone to the phantom wifi. what am i doing wrong? do i have to register my phantom or something? please help .. thanks

All factory DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ configuration with 1080P 30FPS video setting.
Nice vid! I fly p2v. Small comment. I consider it inadvisable to fly over a road, though.
Regarding: The phone in screen, I suspect that he used some app to cap vid from his phone, then combined it with a phone 'mask' then combined that in vid editor. It is also possible that he used some sort of fpv goggles, which have dvr capability built in, to capture the phone video.
So with Phantom 2 vision plus we dont need The DJI iOSD Mini?

Magnus Jensen It is stock P2V+ like the one within this video's description. I used all AUTO settings and used 1080P 30FPS video settings.

kurama kyuubi It's solid till 1,000 feet or so with mine but gets sketchy when you go out a bit from that.

No you do not. It communicates via WiFi and not the cellular network.

Great video, by the looks of your shorts it was a bit windy that day. Does it fly ok in wind? I'm sooo tempted to buy this but just want to know if it's worth the money
clive long From my experience the P2V+ handles wind well. 25MPH is about the max wind speed that I've flown in. It tends to get a little sketchy beyond that from my experience. Now that was with the original P2V+ model. I'm not sure if the newest P2V+ v3 with upgraded motors may be able to comfortably withstand greater windspeed.

Rommel Castro Certainly. It behaves just like an iPhone but keep in mind that you may want to rig a different mount, as the iPad mini is likely too large for the stock DJI Phantom controller mount. Check the link within this video's description. I have a mount that that I use with a 7-inch Android tablet and should work well for iPad mini as well!
Thank you, my son brought from Canada one full DJI Plus, the trip although within an appropriate suitcase was hit and damaged, broke the Phantom Flex Cable Camera Vision 2 Plus. I looked on youtube how to replace the cable and did not see any information. I have identified that many people also had this problem. My cable is coming next week and would like to have more information to be able to exchange.

Also thinking seriously about getting one, I have one concern, why did they put such a wide angle lens on the camera that it captures part of the airframe, props and landing gear?
C D Hanks When you angle slightly downward it won't capture the props. The video quality is incredible! Please subscribe and check out my other P2V+ videos too. I'm a big GoPro guy but the DJI camera wins for a drone IMO.

That Mustache Actually the standard lens on the GoPro is wider than the one on the Vision +
It appeared to me that the props were only visible while in forward flight. The iphone inset showed the camera leveling bar on the right. So it looks like the camera either was on a gimbal, or had self leveling built into the controller. That didnt really answer the wide angle part, but the props in view portion.

The Video doesn't seem to mention how the 2.4ghz with booster will block all other 2.4 signals, thus causing all other model airplanes in the area to CRASH!!!! This is the best FPV thing out there to get your club closed down. :(

Wow! This is excellent video quality. Your drone must be pretty high up in altitude because I can actually see the curvature of the Earth. Did you ever swoop down to check out the cargo in that suspicious looking van? They could have been transporting drugs or illegal immigrants or both.....

dre8431 No Internet required but you do need an Android or iOS device for the FPV. It's worth every penny. Yeah, it's pricey but worth ever penny IMO. Check the link within this video's description for the various accessories that I use with it.
dre8431 You pay for what you get and believe me,you get a lot.
As for having an internet connection,this is advantagious when updating the software/firmware for your DJI,but its not a requirement to be able to fly it.

Your altitude was twice the legal limit.
there's no "legal limit" - I've gotten mine above 2200ft on several occasions.
the FAA hasnt got the authority to tell a private citizen anything as of now, they have a few "advisories" but they are toothless when it comes to a court of law. one such advisory says keep it below 400 feet. another one says dont fly in restricted airspace like your local airport. and yet one more says if your operating over a residential area keep it OVER 200 feet..... as for the Law??? there are no laws yet. yosemite national park says you cannot fly a drone in the park, but the law they are using says you cannot parachute a man or object into the park with either a fixed wing aircraft or a glider. i dont think its going to fly, it says nothing about drones.....

Yeah ditto what the one guy said about PiP with your iphone man!! But dont go showing that video to your FAA neighbor, there is a 400 foot flight ceiling in the US for model aircraft, and I think that includes quads. Localities or states may also have prohibition on filming people over private property. You would want the same respect, Im sure.
"Suspicious van activity" Really? The only creep around here are you with the drone. I'm all for drone flying (Heck I bought one myself) but seriously, stay away from people with it. If you want to spy on people at least stay high up in the air. Don't continuously hover right above their faces so they notice you. That's just rude and disrespectful to their privacy.

If you see a group of strangers talking somewhere, you aren't just going to stand in between them and listen too right? They would most likely look at you strange, or even ask you wtf you're doing. Or something more violent... You never know.
