I'd love a whole behind the scenes cut where it shows you and the crew all enjoying your recipes together. Food is such a together thing. 💕 Also petition to have Vinny make a recipe on the channel
My mom has made a version of this every summer since my brother and I were little! As kids my brother and I called this blueberry bunkle - as adults (26 and 28 respectively) we found out LAST YEAR that this is actually called a buckle. When we brought it up to my mom she said it was just "too cute" to correct. Blueberry bunkle for life!
What Claire said about blueberry desserts needing more salt makes so much sense. I like blueberry desserts but always felt like baked goods with blueberries had a slight blandness. Now I know!
“Don’t let nonstick do butter’s job. Or whatever” I love this. The whole thing. Claire is so passionate but also not over serious about it. Genuine and easy for the audience to be engaged. 💕
Claire: “creaming together sugar and butter is something many people gloss over” Also claire: “I think we’re done creaming this together cause I really just don’t want to do it any longer.”
I love when you mention these little comments about things Harris has said. “Salt & acid on 2nd date”, the best compliment ever on your One Day Fruit Cake, and, oh, the mysterious “this dishwasher saved my marriage”. And then there is his “I live here too”. Keep on keeping it real!
Dessert Person and What’s for Dessert is actually perfection in baking! Thank you guys so much for posting all of these recipes on youtube! The work you guys do is an absolute work of art! Thank you so much Claire!
Felix roar and cuddle, homage to Martha Stewart, adorable quote from the husband, and delicious blueberry cake for breakfast, yep…another great episode!❤
i would love to hear more about how claire came to love baking and her educational background. we get lil bits here and there about her past but i'd love a lil story moment!!
Felix truly came into his own today and stole the show 😆! I'll admit I was astonished at the amount of blueberries going in, but the streusel was so generous, it helped balance out the fruit nicely. Well done, Claire. Respectfully, Felix needs his own show... 😁
I'm not the kind of person to buy things often, but these youtube videos have convinced me to get both Dessert Person and What's for Dessert, everything just looks so good!
Just finished "The Big Brunch" and I got so nostalgic for you and Sohla, my two favorite ladies. I'm so excited for both of you. You keep making cookbooks and I will keep buying them. Thank you for all of your work over the years.
I just got your book and believe it or not this was the first recipe I tried! I did halve it and used a smaller pan (something like a 7-inch) and that worked well! It was so yummy and I could put to use the wild blueberries we picked last summer. Love the new book, beautiful pictures and impeccable descriptions ❤
You were reading my mind because I had just put a post it on this recipe to make it this week. I love that I had a chance to see you make it. I am floored with the baking time in it. Will be jumping into it asap.
Can't wait to have the book in my hands! You've changed my cooking experience completely Claire, thank you so much for all the knowledge you share with us💕
I would totally buy Claire merch that says Half of the Remaining/ Third of the Total Love seeing so many videos lately and your collab with King Arthur!! Their facility in VT is gorgeous, I loved taking some classes there! Wonderful people, wonderful company!
I love these videos so much. Just watching Claire make food or having her videos playing in the background is so calming and a ritual for me when i have late nights for schoolwork.
I made your caramelized honey pumpkin pie last week, soooo good & will be my 'go to' pumpkin pie for years to come. I agree that honey smells kinda like mushrooms (& I only used store brand honey)! Very much enjoying your first book & your new one is on my xmas list for sure!
I love this blueberry buckle! We had the full blueberry experience - I served this with homemade blueberry ice cream and fresh Quebec wild blueberries! Delicious! Second time around I had no cornflakes, and so I replaced cornflakes with large flake oats. I prefer the crunchy cornflakes but oats also work in a pinch. Thanks for a great recipe and video !
Good afternoon Claire, this cake looks absolutely delicious. It is a no nonsense cake as well. It is not too much work, once you have set up your ingredients, it goes fairly quick and easy. The amount of blue berries settled lovely during baking. The streusel topping adds the final touch. I will have to make this I can just imagine the flavours. Blue berries are extremely expensive where I am alas, I will make a plan. The video was nice to watch, you keep me interested and your kitchen is easy. Thank you for sharing and the tips are most informative. Have a good day, many blessings. It's my son's birthday, he always enjoys chocolate cake so that is what I baked this morning, it looks good in the pans so it will assemble fine. We all enjoy cake in the home!!
I have made this several times now, once as a birthday cake. So good it's addictive. The cornflakes make it almost sweet and savory tasting. Rating 14/10.
I was introduced to this dessert decades ago, but I love the riffing Claire did with the cornmeal and corn flakes! Making this for when family comes after the holidays.
I was about to ask where's the measurements but then someone in the comments pointed out that it's in the very beginning of the video roughly at the 0:44 mark. Comes and goes pretty quick so you have to pause at the right time.
I'm down with a bad case of the flu (not COVID, surprisingly!) and watching Claire's videos is exactly the chill, healing vibe I need to manage my headaches and chest pains 🥺 love you Claire! Can't wait to get my hands on your latest book this Christmas 🤗
You're in luck because it's holiday season and apparently everyone's featuring Claire. Go watch her on New York Times youtube of her making candy, Vice youtube had her on to make blondies and King Arthur Baking youtube had her on to make donuts. It's the season of Claire! I hope you start to feel better soon.
Made this for some friends this weekend. I used dark brown suger on the top streusel bit becasue i didn't have light, and It burned a tiny bit, i just picked off the burnt bits and made another topping in the toaster oven and re-sprinkled it, it was fine. overall, incredibly good, very moist, big blueberry flavor, very fun to make with my partner.
Thank you for going into and explaining the often skipped over techniques! I appreciate all the teaching you do 😊 also the way you hold the hand mixer did stress me out (it looked a little out of control) until you explained why and I think I may adopt that style.
Felix getting on the counters and trying to eat baked goods makes me feel better about my cat Jiji doing it while I do a cooking stream on Twitch. The strussel on top of this cake sounds really good. Never thought of adding corn flakes to it.
Thank you for another great recipe! I made this exactly as written, and it was perfect! Shared it, but my husband and I ate about half of it in 2 days! I am thinking of trying an apple version, augmenting the apple flavor by adding freeze dried apple (ground) to the streusel. Any thoughts as to whether or not this would work?
Looks delish! Is there a benefit to adding un-beaten eggs? I sometimes beat my eggs before adding to batters so it's easier to combine. But would this impact the texture? Or are the eggs added as whole most because it's fewer dishes to clean later?
Claire, I hold my hand mixer the same way as you. I find gripping the hand mixer on the middle on the handle to tire my wrist way faster than if I (like you) hold it more on the back of the handle or even at the back of the body of the mixer. Holding it that way also somehow makes the hand mixer feels less heavier to use, so yeay for both of us 😀
Looks great and I actually have wild blueberries from Ukraine in the freezer (initiative of Danish SuperBrugsen supermarket), but I don't see the detailed recipe in the description?
Claire is to me what Martha is to Claire
Omg THIS!!! ❤
Yes!!!!!!!
I must be old cus I feel the same way as Claire 🤣
@@arexandwasame, Martha is the OG

Yes! That would be amazing!
I think it was mentioned in a previous episode but if I remember correctly Vinny is a bit camera shy especially when it comes to doing a recipe
Felix! That roar 😂

So sweet ! ❤️
this is so sweet omg

Claire: take the time to cream the butter and sugar
Also Claire: OK, I don't wanna do this anymore...
😆🤣
i would love to hear more about how claire came to love baking and her educational background. we get lil bits here and there about her past but i'd love a lil story moment!!
I hope that one day someone makes a supercut of all of the delightful cat moments (and chickens and any other animals) from these wonderful videos.

That intro was perfect and hilarious. Felix rules the house, but Claire rules the kitchen
I'm not the kind of person to buy things often, but these youtube videos have convinced me to get both Dessert Person and What's for Dessert, everything just looks so good!
They are both at my library. The print in what’s for dessert is really small. Difficult for us seasoned citizens 😩

I loved Martha Stewart Living!! I am still obsessed with the small copies of Everyday Food my mom would get each month.
I love Martha too. That Pies and Tarts Book was my text book and memorized her pie dough!
Martha forever!!😊

This was the first recipe I made from the new book and it was awesome! Loved the cornflake crumble.
Claire I got your new cookbook and I’ve been so excited to try some of the recipes!! 🥰🥰
Martha Stewart showing up stoned with Snoop would be a legendary moment. 🤣
💙💜 Martha showing up would be kick ass. 💜💙
Breakfast cake is the best cake of the day! 😸
I just made this today and it is unbelievably delicious 😋 I can't wait to have more for breakfast
Did you get the recipe from her book? I can't seem to find it in the description. Thank you.
Oh wow starting it with the kitty is perfect, hahahah. So happy!
On my list. Night baking for good Morning Breakfasts the next day are the best.
I made this tonight. I plan to eat in the AM.
THANK YOU for using a hand mixer! Some of us don't have access to a stand mixer and the batter and process clearly looks and acts differently.
Made this for some friends this weekend. I used dark brown suger on the top streusel bit becasue i didn't have light, and It burned a tiny bit, i just picked off the burnt bits and made another topping in the toaster oven and re-sprinkled it, it was fine.

I didn't know that I LOVE Buckles! Thanks Claire!
Making this fruit filled cake w/streusel topping today! 😊
This episode is truly hilarious!
How exciting! I just purchased all the ingredients last night to make this recipe tonight! What a happy Thursday!
Thank you for going into and explaining the often skipped over techniques! I appreciate all the teaching you do 😊 also the way you hold the hand mixer did stress me out (it looked a little out of control) until you explained why and I think I may adopt that style.
i learn so much with Claire
What did you drizzle on top at the end? Creme Anglaise?
my dad loves to bake and uses oats in the crumble on top, it’s amazing!
This is totally unrelated but the lettuce cup thing at the latter end of the video just stole my attention. It's so cute!
i need someone who looks at me the way felix looks at vinny
buying everyone i know a copy of “What’s For Dessert” for christmas, whether they want it or not. it’s a life essential

I'm definitely making this. A cornflake streussel sounds amazing!
How will you make it when there are no measurements provided?
@@jokerproduction They are literally listed in the video 0:44. Did you even watch the video>
Martha collab we need it
Congrats on a Million Subs!!!!
omg perfect start to the morning, Claire! Thank you 💕💕💕
Looks wonderful! What does Claire pour over her slice?
Wondering this too!!!
Same question!!
its pretty simple and i can eat it ten times 💖 thank you claire!
Love ya, Claire! Gonna try this recipe!
Lol, I am glad you mentioned how people feel about the way you hold the mixer... it is chaotic!!!
love that you have the essentials section in your book🤩 santa can you hear me? I need What's for dessert as a Christmas gift 💌
Maybe your next book could be called What's For Breakfast? but it's still just dessert recipes. 😄 Pie is the best breakfast!!
Claire what is the lovely jazz music playing right as you’re putting the cake into the oven?
Thank you for another great recipe! I made this exactly as written, and it was perfect! Shared it, but my husband and I ate about half of it in 2 days! I was about to go to sleep and saw Claire uploaded I was like YAY cozy yummy video then I’ll sleep😊
I just got your What’s For Dessert book and I absolutely love it!
One of my favorites, thanks Claire! 😘
Kitty cam is the best part 😍
love this, LOVE YOU AND THE CREW!!! xox
15:40 was anyone else yelling "FELIX NO" at their screen? :P
Claire is my Ina Garten. Life goals. Inspiration. And we are only 2 weeks apart in age. Thank you for all your wisdom!!!!
Omg! That looks freakin incredible! 🤭😱👌👍
Happy of December 1TH Claire ❤️🎄💚
Looks delish! Is there a benefit to adding un-beaten eggs? I sometimes beat my eggs before adding to batters so it's easier to combine. But would this impact the texture? Or are the eggs added as whole most because it's fewer dishes to clean later?
Am I missing something? Are the ingredients not in de video description anymore? ☹️
Thank you for including info for frozen blueberries - fresh BBs are just so expensive!
Claire, I hold my hand mixer the same way as you. What is the creamy sauce you poured over the cake?
Looks great and I actually have wild blueberries from Ukraine in the freezer (initiative of Danish SuperBrugsen supermarket), but I don't see the detailed recipe in the description?
Saving this for when we go pick bluebs next year
❤mmm certainly one of my favorites as well. i also love that it can be eaten for breakfast as well as dessert. ❤
I want to make this but I can't find the exact measurements in the description. Did it get removed?
I made this today ! It is delicious and I will make it regularly…..Lol will be breakfast tomorrow ! Generously buttered a 9X9 pan no springform
I totally hold my hand mixer from the back like you!
Eyeing those rolls sitting on top of the oven.. are those using the brioche dough recipe from the first book?
Now THIS is my kinda desserttttttt ❤❤❤
Camera zooms in on Felix about to get into mischief and Claire just knows he's being naughty. 🤣
Vinny and Cal are exactly what Claire needs 🙂
No recipe in the description? :(
Looks so delicious and amusing perfect for any holiday 😊
I put my hand through the middle of the hand mixer and hold the body of it. Works like a dream
One of the best things I have ever baked.
YEP! I going to need a spring form pan now!
Violent hand mixer vibes all winter please
Anyone know what the drizzle is at 18:19?
Video suggest the recipe is in the description below.. but nothing is there :(
