ex audio engineer here.....Bassy come from 80-125 Hz....but generally you want to talk into the mic and adjust each frequency until the graph is flat for all frequencies as you talk into it...this will give you a full sounding audio without seeming to bassy / hollow or middy sounding. Everyone's voice projects different frequency levels which is why the adjustable equalization ...to enable you to adjust to flat across all freqs. once you have that and want the big , warm tones you hear now and again....push 80 hz up 5db....and 125hz down5-10 db....add just a little high end ....but just a little for clarity !

Hi. J'utilise aussi ce micro sur mon FTdx 101MP. Mais j'avoue que les réglages sont compliqués entre les deux.
      73's and Best regards

I had the m100 dual element mic with my ftdx10. Great mic also. For a little less cheese. It is all about how much you want to spend. If your having fun! It’s your thing!!!!😊

right I have the M-70 with my FTDX10 also works good, the FTDX 10 and the FT710 are good radios, not less important.

Thanks for vid. I am studying for my general and killing myself to figure out first HF rig. bought a G90 (good deal used) cause i want to do portable (strict HOA). Fired it up last night first time ever on wolf river coil vertical, not sure I like it, alot to learn and not very user friendly. Both my elmers have 991a, which i am scared i will not like due to deep menu system. I am seeing used 991a for around $850 nice cause shack in box and i like fusion. Used 7300 out there for $850 but cant run external monitor and old technology (maybe shouldnt bother me). Really want a FT710 but would eat up all my funds. I have FTM400 and FTM200, those are decent but not great. Would love to go Icom, but alot of Fusion around me.KD9IRA

Well if interested in the 710 give it a few months people always jump into radios and then not like them and resell .depends on how fast your looking to purchase.

I use this mic with the 991a and its powered through the mic cable. There is a little switch under the mic. Remove the cover and flip the switch and it will allow you to get rid of that other cable.

I'm curious what Tx equalizer settings in your radio you use with this mic. If you set the equalizer on the mic then do you set the radio to be a flat response.

these new yaesu mics i heard never sounded good. better would be to buy a studio mic for a fraction of the price, those sound alot better, only thing is they usualy need a transformator to match the resistance in the mic with the radio.

100 % agree . These things are a small fortune . Nearly a grand after tax and shipping ($800’ish)
And don’t sound near as good as a mediocre $150 dollar Amazon studio mic setup
