I've hatched terrestrial geckos before but never a tortoise that's incredible! I never knew they were folded in half in the egg? 😱 They're adorable, love it, glad to see you back!
Sounds cool! I like geckos! I know! It was incredible to be able to hatch these guys! Thanks for the kind words! Means a lot. Lots of new content coming soon 👍
Hey there long time no see. Love those little guys. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your new place. Btw it was very hard to hear you talk. Maybe a mic would help. Looking forward to future updates. Glad your back.
Hello sir👋, congratulations for your hatching baby tortoises🎉, i wanna ask you something. is it possible for hermann tortoise breed without hibernate them? I lived in tropical climate so there’s no winter and spring season here. I really wanna breed hermann tortoise, so before i adopt them i like to research before. thank you ✨
Hello, thanks! I have never purposely hibernated my tortoises, mine go outside in the summer. However they do naturally wind down naturally and become less active during the colder months as their indoor enclosure cools slightly. I give them a heated indoor enclosure for the colder months. It is meant to be good for their natural hormone cycle to go through a colder period. Some people here in the UK hibernate their tortoises for 4-6 month at 5 celcius which I believe is incorrect, there is lots of evidence to prove they do wake up from time to time and are still slightly active during colder months. Hermann tortoises in the wild are from lots of different locations, some only slow down for a few weeks and the rest of the time is stays hot. I would strongly recommend buying the book 'naturalistic keeping breeding of Hermann's tortoises'. I would guess you will be fine, just ensure the setup and diet are correct 👍 Good luck! I hope I helped 👍
