I hoping for some revisions for modern season 3 (if not season 2). Theres no reason for zangeif to have crouching medium and auto medium do the same thing and forward heavy and auto heavy to do the same thing. We shouldn't have repeat inputs. Theres plenty of normals we could be given instead.

Why? Because it makes it more accessible and appeals to a wider amount of people? Plus some people have disabilities which can stop them from playing well, modern controls can help.

It's an optional feature for a casual crowd. Also it expands accessibility.
I've started with Modern controls on my first 15-ish opponents and then moved to Classic and fought 150 more people.
The notion that modern is any kind of advantage beyond Iron ranks is honestly laughable.
Anyone I can beat in Modern I can beat 10x easier on Classic.
If you're that bad that you have to whine about Modern, you need to start using it yourself so you can learn how to play like any newcomer does.
Shouldn't be allowed in Ranked or tournaments.

As a former beginner that started with SF6 i feel like they are good only at approaching faster the game, not at actually learning anything: it's not just motion inputs that are not practiced, basically 90% of Modern players i encounter lack any fundamentals. Playing classic as a beginner sucks, but it forces you to learn both inputs and fundamentals, and much like driving automatic or manual cars, learning manual puts you way ahead of any automatic only driver

Modern controls are tight. If you lose to someone soley because they used modern then you're a scrub. I say this as a classic user
Sad how fighting games have come to this, should have gave them their own ranked mode to play in.
Modern Control is macros. It should be banned in tournaments and ranked, just like all the years before was banned "command" button in SNK games, simple mod in MvC3, gems in SFxT, etc. FGC, are you lost your mind? You have legalized instant DP and Supers without inputs!
Remember that when you choose modern you lose some moves and you do less damage overall
@@drudhhhhr7051 If there was always a damage penalty, it would be at least a little balanced. But you can do moves manually and get the same 60% combo. Is this fair? No, this is cheating.

@@drudhhhhr7051 the problem is, you may have less damage, but you're has also less time for inputs and less chances to missinput. In other words: you are getting a little weaker but preety much faster. How do you think, what gives more advantage in fighting games between this two: frame data(speed) or aproximately 20% buffed damage?
When it comes to M controls all their drawbacks are set in stone. Ur combos are doing 20% less damage, can't optimise Ur combos as much as C controls, and u lose a few tools. The drawbacks of C(execution and reactions not being as fast) can legit just be trained to the point where the difference is irrelevant. C controls are just straight up better and M controls do really well for bringing new people into the fgc and helping them understand the game without the execution getting in the way. However if they want to get even better they should go to C controls cuz it's the drawbacks can be trained. Stop complaining about M controls. (Coming from a C controls player)

I hate modern, it encourages people to put less effort for the same basic result.Why is this control scheme even available in rank to begin with if it is an entry point for new players? The same guy that just started playing and picked up classic controls will have a much harder time playing against a Blanka or Honda on modern allowing the arguably worse player to win more easily. Just allow modern controls as a feature for casuals or battle hubs.
No, because player base expand is the main key to sustain fighting game genre. While you needing others to 'git gud', perhaps you're the one need to.

I agree. I don’t think it should be removed but classic players shouldn’t be playing against modern because it’s so easier to link auto combos and specials with one button. You could easily DP with a single button with no direction while classic players would have to react input the DP motion first then attack.

After Silver the damage debuff in Modern controls balances the two. Modern becomes much rarer in higher ranks.
Yeah I agree, I actually don't mind it being in the game but it shouldn't be ranked. No idea what Capcom was thinking in that regard. Keep it in casual for the casual players. When it comes to a competitive environment where people are striving to become the best of the best in terms of skill, classic controls should be the only thing in there. There's no skill involved whatsoever when using modern. But, oh well. Here we are.
