Also, I know you love Lonesome Dove and obviously The Lonesome Gods. Let me suggest you try Butcher's Crossing by John Williams if you haven't read him already. He was a great writer with a real talent for character and landscape. This tale of one of the last buffalo hunts will fascinate you and make you think. Loved it.
I’ve given L’amour a few shots but never could get into it. But it may be his almost clinical prose of his shorter novels. The only one I’ve enjoyed is the walking drum which was later on in his career as well. I got this one sitting somewhere. Might need to check it out!

Butcher's Crossing is amazing!!
I'll give this a go in the spring thanks for the heads up and I'll be taking on The Five Warrior Angels soon as well
We need more westerns.

The last LL book I read was the ‘High Graders’. It was actually pretty dang good!
DOPE!!!
Would like to see this book turn into a movie
Man, I put your name into the UA-cam tv set thingy and “favorite westerns” and nothing came up. (???)
😂
Did you read The Pale Blue Eye by Louis Bayard? A murder mystery with young Edgar Allan Poe.
The movie is on Netflix with Christian Bale
