I'm so obsessed with all things Japanese especially their home appliances. I've observed that the Japanese may not have invented these appliances but, wow, they've perfected it and still keep improving. Same thing for cars, silk, etc. On my next visit I'd really like to buy a rice cooker. And now, as you've demonstrated, an air purifier and a fridge and washing machine.... Sometimes, Paolo, it's dangerous to watch you videos. 😉 Watching this in Jan 2023.
Hello from Australia :D my children and I love watching your videos, they're homeschooled so your videos help us with our studies of other cultures! You guys are very engaging for all ages. They have asked whether you could consider doing a "day in the life of a Japanese child in their spare time", they're interested in what activities, toys, interests, snacks etc a Japanese child might like. I loved this video, we do not have such smart tech in Australia, especially not fridges, given our hot climate though it would be so helpful!
Our appliances in South Africa are at least 30 years behind in technology compared to Japanese appliances. The difference is so vast that you actually cannot even compare them remotely fairly.
The timing of this video is perfect. We’re just halfway through building our new family house in Japan, and are shopping for appliances now. Both the air filter and the fridge you showed are very appealing to me...a little pricey but maybe worth it. As for the washer-drier combo though, although it looks hi-tech and awesome, my experience is that those combo units don’t dry all that well. Since people in Japan generally hang their clothes up to dry them, these units are more of a novelty than anything. (Only used during the rainy season?) I’ve been told the only way to really get clothes dry with a machine here is if you use gas. (Our new place will be all-electric, so we’ll be going for the highest rated stand-alone unit, as a second best option...) Anyway, thanks for the ideas. 🍻
@@DoctorEbot hard question to answer...the construction style is traditional, but not the design. I’m posting videos on my channel, so check them out if you’re interested. 🍻

That washing machine would literally save you so much water and detergent and since you can fill it all the way to the top you can throw away the bottles right away and not have it take up space I love it
@@DjRex28 According to google washing machines cost between $250 and $2,050; dryers cost anywhere from $200 to $1,750. If it is able to do both on the same scale as the most expensive mashines and as reliable as both too you´d save a bit of money and space :D. But yeah... it ain´t cheap.
I bought this washing machine in December I use this only night with set up to finish at 6:00 am And ´morning you take the warmed dried clothes after shower, it’s awesome. But 3000 dollars 💵 Made in Japan 6year warranty
Now to figure out how to pack a fridge in my checked baggage! Fun video, would like to see more Japan household tech and also see the pricing on these items.
Yeah, I wish more UA-camrs would properly caption their videos. (I try to, but then again I’m not uploading long videos every week like Paolo.) Yes, there is the auto-translation, but it’s usually pretty ridiculous.
@@SuperBobKing ah, thanks. that’s what I wanted to say. Auto-generation creates mixed results in my experience. But better when you’re dealing with one language at a time. For people like Paolo and I, it’s pretty much impossible to not mix Japanese words into our English. (And that does get some pretty hilarious results from auto-generate.)
I brought a combo washer/dyer for my condo because I had no space for the stackable washer& dryer type or two machines. It turns out all brands have them but in the USA, they are not promoted though they are available for purchase. You don't have to take out the wet clothes and transfers them to the dyer. Thanks Paolo 4 ur info about household appliciances
I still remember over 12 years ago, I went to Japan and they already had Toto smart toilet when in the US , we were still struggling with the manual flush lol
😂😂😂
Paolo speaking Japanese is such a treat :D
Japan is 50 years in the future
at least
and 50 years in the past in terms of racism and being homogenous
have you ever been to Japan? You act like everyone's racist, which obviously they aren't...
@AntiSp00k WhiteLivesMatter Slavery? WTF? working hard and working is a group is not slavery! you get paid yes there a gender pay gap that's pretty bad but every country has it! and it is changing and the suicide numbers are tragic but again look at here in NI while not as high as Japan its was pretty bad for us coming out the the troubles with people only now coming to terms with what happened

Japan makes fantastic appliances. Panasonic, SHARP, Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, Balmuda, and Iris Oyamha all make really cool products.
I have one of the SHARP Plasma cluster air purifiers.
Japan always has seemed to be a great people. I have never seen any problems with japanease. They are polite as hell and have always been smart with technology. I'm a nintendo kid so I know.
Japanese rice cookers: up to $1000, AI technology to analyze the rice and seemingly last forever
American rice cookers: $19.99 at Walmart, made-in-china, breaks-in-3-months
you can buy 50 rice cookers
Japanese rice cookers are also made in China bruh. You get what you pay for.
@@silveriver9 Not the high end ones
@@_w_w_ it's more likely than not that the highend ones are also made in China but for export to japan. It's the only way for jp companies to make a decent profit or be priced out of the market. Apple make high end phones in China. Ppl tend to think China only make low end. China makes alot of low end because there is demand for them all over the world. They also make the high end stuff too but are ppl as willing and ready to buy them?

Me asking Paolo if they do international shipping and change the Japanese to English??
Same!!
Same here
pleaseeeeeeee
The answer is no......
Probably not... and their warranties will be in japanese and only available for Japan. 😭😭😭 Hopefully, they'll expand internationally 🙏🙏🙏
And then maybe we can expect a "life of an appliance salesman "
We would love to see a Video on Different Foriegners Working in Japan
YES!
“This is the day in the life of a Filipina maid.”
That will not be a very good video.
Japan, please export these high tech appliances, they are awesome!
that is what i love about Japanese appliances..so cool and out of box concept..always creating appliances that can really make your life so easy!
One day you're young and the next you're watching a video on home appliances in Japan.
Uuujugthh
12:25 "Yeah, but you still has to clean that roller!"
12:42 "Of course they gonna have a fcking brush for that!!!"
They have every small things 😢😢
Those appliances are insane. My microwave chooses when it wants to spin and only heats up one side of my food.
Ops, mine too hehehe
Dude, that video was amazing! Please make more videos like these! People living outside Japan whats to know this and more. Thank you.
(Our new place will be all-electric, so we’ll be going for the highest rated stand-alone unit, as a second best option...)
Anyway, thanks for the ideas. 🍻
Come on, I think you need the microwave too. Is your house going to be traditional Japanese style, or crazy futuristic or what?
@@DoctorEbot hard question to answer...the construction style is traditional, but not the design. I’m posting videos on my channel, so check them out if you’re interested. 🍻
One of the best channels on youtube
I have to give a shout-out to John Daub Only in Japan. He's a really great host
Well! I never knew there are over fifty different kinds of rice! That's pretty cool, and that rice cooker is amazing!
If I recall correctly there are currently 40,000 cultivars of Asian rice, and that doesn’t include African rice and wild rice species
You can tell this video took A LOT of work to complete. We appreciate all your hard work!!!
Hats Off to the Salesman, he was so nice and helpful and so full of Knowledge
YOU SHOULD DO MORE OF THIS!! REALLY ENJOYED IT!
Fridge-san: I’ve determined this is how you’re going to use this food

when the sales person is not a 150kg guy with a ketchup stained T-shirt, baggy shorts, and white socks with running shoes. what a blessing!

is that the stereotype of the sales person in the united state ?

Where do you go appliance shopping
I'm new here and absolutely love your videos. I´m from Buenos Aires, Argentina and I went twice to Japan but you show things that normally you can't see when you are sightseeing.
Another fantastic video, Paolo, thanks. 0:46 The salesman's lovely eyes are spellbinding.
Kamado rice cooker is definitely the perfect souvenir to take home after a Japan trip. With its various functionality, I could only imagine how my mom would freak out. 😅😂
I used to live in Japan for three months and their washing machine in the apartment was so great that i want to bring it to the Philippines haha
Don't be shy paolo, tell us the prices 👀
Washer/Dryer: $2,932.39
Refrigerator: $3,112.38
Microwave Oven: $1,075.52
Rice Cooker: $542.35
Air Purifier: $1478.88
Total: $9,141.52
yeah this stuff is all high-end. (Paolo doesn’t mess around!). For the same, lower-end appliances, you can knock off one zero from all those prices. 😆

That washing machine would literally save you so much water and detergent and since you can fill it all the way to the top you can throw away the bottles right away and not have it take up space I love it
The washer/dryer is $2,932.39
Many Japanese detergents aren't in bottles, they are sold in eco-friendly plastic pouches.

@Christina Bonvillian really pls engligten me more. Thank you
It's not the shipping, it's the voltage difference. Japan is 100-110Volts, UK is 220-240V.
Now to figure out how to pack a fridge in my checked baggage! Fun video, would like to see more Japan household tech and also see the pricing on these items.
Guess I'll have to wait a day to watch this, captions are in japanese and i'm not quite good at that yet. -a deaf person
you can switch it to English
Yeah, I wish more UA-camrs would properly caption their videos. (I try to, but then again I’m not uploading long videos every week like Paolo.)
Yes, there is the auto-translation, but it’s usually pretty ridiculous.
@@Jordan-inJapan Since the video itself is in English it uses auto-generation, not translation, and that tends to be better.
I'm drooling at the thought of owning all these high tech appliances. I'm officially an adult.
I wish that these were available on the Australian market. Brilliant products.
I brought a combo washer/dyer for my condo because I had no space for the stackable washer& dryer type or two machines. It turns out all brands have them but in the USA, they are not promoted though they are available for purchase. You don't have to take out the wet clothes and transfers them to the dyer. It's amazing you put the dirty clothes in the machine then they come out clean and dry. This machine saved my back, the best purchase ever.
