Hi Daniel - I'm not sure if it has been mentioned but at the end of your Digital Caliper, the shaft that protrudes out is a depth measurer. A little bit of useful info if needed.
Hi Daniel! Great video. I just started following your videos so I am a little behind. I love your techniques. I'm part Native American so I am learning to make attractive cabs to enhance my beading. These will make an excellent centerpiece for my buffalo bone hair pipe chokers. You have a knack for teaching dude! You explain everything and show it. I should have all my supplies by Tuesday and hopefully be able to try some of these awesome techniques.
This video has really answered many questions on what I need to buy and how to make jewelry. Feel like a should pay you some kind of commission. But can only buy you a coffee occasionally. If I do become rich. . .
Very good! I have a tiny hand drill, but had no idea about the calipers. I did find them on US Amazon for about 10 bucls. A great deal! And I've never seen anyone demonstrate how to use these tools before, so very helpful indeed. I feel lucky to have found you!
Even when we already know how we still watch to help support fellow creators! No matter how much you already know you may learn something new or a new better way!
Thanks for the tip about drilling from the back of the piece. It looks like it works a lot easier than from the front. I have trouble with those little hand drills. I can never get the small bits in and when I try the larger size it never stays in. I bought a Dremel and it works a lot better for me and quicker too. I love all the pieces that you made. They're all really beautiful!
Hi Daniel, I love watching and learning from your tutorials. Im just starting out with resin and loving it thanks to you! I have the same mold and would like to know what size punch bails to use for the smaller earrings and the larger oval ones and such and how can i figure it out on my own? Thank for all your help. By the way, i love your new studio! Kudos to you with your success!!!
I tried to send you a PayPal donation but having trouble. Gonna check again after work. Thank you for such prompt replies, wonderful inspiration and excellent tutorials 🌹. Been encouraging you from the beginning! I knew you’d be successful 🤗. Deb
Looks Amazing. Thanks for the tips and tricks. The caliper is a great idea 💡. I have found premixed Resin from Let's Resin and a small led lamp works and there is no measuring! 😊 Keep it 👆
Please could you tell me what the wattage on a uv lamp should be for uv resin as I’m having real difficulty when trying to cure? I know this has nothing to do with this tutorial but as I am binge watching your vids, I’m getting random questions just floating to the front and if I don’t ask them right away I’m sure to forget. That’s what a stroke does for you, but still crafting, that will never stop. Kind regards. From Yorkshire x
Have you ever tried GAC as a glue instead of the epoxy? A common brand is Ranger Ink. It dries absolutely crystal clear [in fact even has a magnifying effect as a clear drop]. I've found it to be the strongest adhesive in an extremely easy to use format.
I don't know if you have a craft store like Michaels or hobby lobby where you live in the UK I don't know if those are strictly American stores or not but if you do and you go into the jewelry making section they have UV resin right there but also they have resin for doming jewelry and it comes in something like that but it comes out clear because I've used the gorilla glue epoxy resin and it has a terrible smell and it never seems to cure clear for me but that might just be me I might be doing it wrong but yeah I got some of the doming resin from hobby lobby and it always comes out clear and it always looks good and I use it sometimes to do what you're doing in this video putting two pieces together
Thanks so much for this tutorial!! I have one of these little drills that I haven't used yet. Nice to see it in action!! Just found you so you have a new subscriber!!!!!😁
Do you have any recommendations for leather wristbands for men, that would work with cabochon made pendants? Been searching online but not quite finding it. Thank you for all your videos, I continue to learn a lot from you and have recommended your UA-cam channel to friends interested in resin making ❤️
Hi Carolyn, it's a struggle finding mens leather straps, especially ones large enough for a man's wrist, at the moment, sadly I have no recommendations but will continue my search also.
Thank you Daniel this is very helpful but how do you measure the pinch bail part that goes into the piece? Or do you just go by the outer measurements of the resin pieces? And what is the name of the tool that you used to measure with?
Hi Debbie, pinch bails are measured top to bottom including the eye I cut off. In the description are links, I have added a link with various size bails 😊. The device is a Vernier Caliper, I have also added a link for those too 😊
Thank you for another brilliant tutorial Daniel. You're very good at this UA-cam stuff! 😁 You explain things very well & your videos are really well filmed.
Thats great Daniel ! May I ask, what size bail is it you use for the heart earrings, and have you ever tried bonding the cabochons with ordinary resin (takes a while to set...) and is it weaker than using the epoxy that you use ?
This may have already been asked, but how do you smooth out the back resin? Just sanding and that's it? I'm using the same mold you are. Afraid to mess up the front.
Hi, you can top up the piece before demoulding, that's probably the best way but make sure you don't demould it 1st 😊. Some I just sand down if not too bad.
Is an older video but when I have hearts that I want to make jewelry or keychains out of instead of going through the back to the front I will actually go in between where the heart makes the arches you know where the arches meet in the middle of the heart I go right in between there but when making like a bracelet or you know something like that you can go through back to front or even side to side but yeah if you want to try and make it so the earrings are facing you know downward without having to put a jump ring through the actual heart if you get those little screw in eyelets you take a one of your drill bits that's a little bit smaller to start it just to start the whole that way you can actually just take the screw in eyelet and screw it in the rest of the way that's how I've done it with earrings and keychains but that's just me I just thought I'd throw it out there as a tip to maybe help you out you know put the jump ring or the eyelet in the hearts cuz the hearts can be a bit hard to deal with
@@daniel..cooper that would be great, thanks! I only started having a go with resin a week ago and I’m already addicted lol, got your videos lined up to watch so I can learn some new techniques 👍🏼

Nice one Daniel! Thanks for sharing this information. ❤
Thank you. You answered a lot of questions. I love the links you put in also.
Thanks Daniel.👍😊
Very welcome 😀
E6000 glue seems to work very well too 😊 No mixing and straight from the tube.
Yes, have been using and recommending E6000 in my recent videos, it's so much easier to use 😊
That's a really sexy caliper, Coopy! Thanx for this tute!

Hi Sarah, I now mainly use a lamp from Let's Resin but I can't find the wattage anywhere, it works perfectly for me though.

Worth a try 😊 it is a strong glue 😊😊

Hi, i just found your Chanel and love it. May i ask what size it is on the drill you are using?
Thank you, I honestly couldn't remember 🙈 sorry
when I use glue on bails I put a thin layer of resin on the back to secure the bail or ear post
Thank you 😊
EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you 😊 ❤ Are you still using the 5 minute epoxy or just using the E-600 now
E6000 is the best 😊😊

Do you think you could do the American versions of the Amazon links for all the supplies? It would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Carla, I will certainly look into this 😊
I’m sure you can get a gun for the gorilla glue great video as always
I have moved on from that glue now, E600+ is the best 🥰
Thank you for this very informative tutorial! Love your work 💖
You're welcome. Thank you 😊
Great information Daniel.
Top tips and tricks..love how you've told us about all the tools you use...bloody well done.
😊 Thanks Rhea 😊
What do you think about using up resin to set?
It can be done, I just haven't tried yet. Would probably be easier as some resins have a 40min work time.
Sorry meant to type uv*
I haven't tried uv resin yet, it's on my list 😊
Hi have you found a cabochon tray for the large heart ? If so will you please share the link ? Thank you !
You mentioned you had a glue on bail come off. We're you gluing them on or securing with resin? I always worry about that too
I was gluing them on sadly.
This is very helpful! Thank you for showing this💖
You're welcome Jessica 😊
LOL! I thought you found someway to put the heart IN the resin! Instead it was a happy accident!
Haha, yes, has happened a few time now 😊
I've got one of those drill things and did not have a clue how to use, thank you so much Daniel v v helpful.

Question: I bought somethings silver 925 but I'm not sure if that is real or not. When you buy those do you recieved some guaranty it is silver 925??
I check the reviews 1st, if in doubt, take it to your local jewellers or you can buy a testing kit. It is scary!
Thanks
I believe I asked already, but not sure, where do I get the little drill?
The link is in the video description 😊

I have this mold but the hearts do not fit the findings I got, any suggestions on where to get them from that fit this mold?
