- Glen Huey teaches how to create string inlays and banded inlays to your work. Using your plunge router and a couple of unique bits you can add a new level of interest to your next project. For everything about woodworking visit www.popwood.com
After you've made your cuts, instead of reaming them out with a metal ruler, just run a vacuum over the grooved areas.
(Spindle sander) = (Drum sander for inlays and bent laminations)
Genius.
Thanks. This is what I want to do on the speaker cabinets I am making.
6:53 I suggest you use a Down Spiral (down cut) bit for inlay grooves on the work piece to prevent fuzzy edges you must end up sanding. Saves time, looks cleaner and you don't end up sanding your work piece before your final finish up. I use a micro hand planer for taking down any 'stick up.'
I'm not sure why it drove me crazy, but add some leather strapping to that mallet if you're going to drag it :P
Nice job with the video. Also you spell your name correctly, Glen with one 'n., Thumbs up just for that! -Glen
It's Glend, there is a D at the end.
Glen, always look forward to your videos. As always, great technique and video.
Nice work and video I’m. Not used to seeing such. Tiny router bits For my feild work i mostly use 1/2 “ bits so the really small ones look pretty strange to me
Great demonstration(and I'm making two bed side tables.) Thank you ....rr
Are you using an upcut or downcut spiral bit? Thanks for a fine demo!
