Lol I was watching Ne Oblivicaurious earlier and saw a comment that made me think of Wintersun and I went to put this CD in and I just now got done and when I opened up UA-cam here you are reacting to Wintersun. Wintersun hasn't been in my algorithms for months. The universe does some weird things from time to time. ;)

Its a beautiful song and my favourite Wintersun song.
In their early years Wintersun got compared to Children Of Bodom a lot. You should check out something from their debut album, like "Battle Against Time" or "Winter Madness".

Just as a substitute for a part of the American tour (I hope). 😉 He did absolutely fantastic, didn't have any doubts though.
I'd highly recommend Ensiferum as well. Top tier viking metal.
Sons of winter and stars also have a kai hahto drummingvideo, speed overload and I love the bass player speed in this band.

I can count the metal bands (that include growling) on one hand that make 'beautiful' songs. And I still have to think real hard. lol. This song... so beautiful. It tickles my left (heart) ventricle. But seriously, thank you for doing this reaction within 24 hrs I suggested it. You rock! If you wanna check out more from them, go for 'The Forest that Weeps'. It's dark and poetic.
since you mentioned that you love vocalists that can switch their vocal style mid song... if you havent already listened to them, then i highly suggest you check out opeth (prog death metal band from stockholm, sweden), mikael åkerfeldt switches between demonic growl and angelic voice in a heartbeat, their dvd of the concert at red rocks amphitheater is one of their best performances ever, specially loving ghost of perdition, sorceress and demon of a fall (despite mikaels technical difficulty with the guitar mid song) from that concert, sorceress is clean vocals only
