So besides minor set-backs, what went wrong with “Relocating their Dream House”? Seemed like the normal hurdles of relocating a home almost 50 miles away.
The initial 130000 is a pretty good deal for a house that big but you add in the remodel and I don’t think this project was cost effective over a new build ?
The year was around 1977. As most people know Trains have hit all kinds of objects on the train tracks. Cars, buses, food trucks, cattle trucks, cattle, oil tankers, FUEL tankers. But my fellow engineer Herb had to report to the dispatcher that he hit a House. At 70 mph . The dispatcher in disbelief said YOU HIT WHAT.It seems that the town of Hereford Texas was moving a historical house from the country to the town city square. The city square was already set to just put the house on the footing. They did not notify the railroad. The house DID NOT make it. Thankfully no was hurt , not even the guy riding on the roof of the house. I think the remains were used for toothpicks. NOW BEAT THAT……….
That old house is much better than a new one could ever be, no plywood to delaminate, no forced grown, green, rapidly kiln dried shit lumber to shrink, twist and warp, superior plaster walls. no crappy sheetrock, joint compound and paper tape with nail pops and tape wrinkling in 5 years or less. Not to mention the trim, pipes, doors and windows, that today are junk. They did the right thing.
Building a house would be cheaper? I doubt that because we are talking about how many materials you need in affordable price, how long the home builder can get it finished even ask contractor for help, and the most important part connecting new utilities(water sewer, gasoline, and electricity). You’re looking at more than $100k to get the project home done.
As other said Don't buy the $25,000 house that you know your going to totally strip down to the studs. Just build new construction on your lot if needed copy the house design exactly as it was..
For those asking if it would be cheaper to build, we were just quoted $650,000 to build a 2,000 sq ft, 1 story house with a basement in one of the cheapest housing markets in the US.
17:39 “Just about turded my pants there.” 😹😹

Der Erklärfilm ist immer wieder schön. Das Umzugsteam kommt mir vor wie Leistungssportler beim Marathon.

Talk about talent!!
Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just build a new house. Could have made it look just like this one.
Everybody is thinking that but this is content😁

My nerves are shot just watching, can't imagine doing this for a living every day, respect.
Wow i would of just had a new home made but oh wells this was kind of stressful to watch. Thank god their house didn't get messed up.

these folks ain't rich, they live where it's cheap
Mad you’re in a apartment lol hating on someone just bc they’re successful
I can't believe those children of the homeowner were in the front seat without seatbelts if they had a accident there goes their LIFES
This just gave me anxiety it was cheaper to make a house on the land
My grandfather moved homes when I was very young.
The title is very misleading. The house move went great.
Why would you not move in and renovate one room or two at a time?
You should have moved house in Atlanta Georgia like we did traffic and at night
"Did "officers of the family court" get involved later? Is that what went wrong? "Law firms make homes disappear every day""
