Played on PC, Steam version, max settings 4k.
All kills, knockouts and target terminations made in a casual run through the main campaign. Includes kills by the player, NPC and those in all cutscenes. Vehicle and buildings included, demolitions of inanimate objects like doors and wall no longer counted, but will be show if they look awesome!

ABOUT THIS GAME
The original Half-Life has been completely overhauled and updated from the ground up. Many elements were updated, the voice acting, visuals and gameplay was updated. The levels were kept as close as possible to the original, with elements updated. The Xen dimension from the original game has not been updated as of 2016-05-05, with the development team indicating this will be an addition that will come free once they complete it.

What a fantastic remake of Half-Life, expanded upon it in such a fun way, and what they did with Xen is just pure eye candy. I really enjoyed this fan made experience, I hope they do the same with Blue Shift and Opposing Force. 🤞

the community is practically doing the same for blue shift (as a mod) it isn't yet finished, but you can play it from the start and to the end of captive freight
Probably the best fan made remake ever made, the amount of dedication put into recreating Half-Life in the modern Source Engine is simply incredible

Is this like a remake of Half Life 1? It has a lot of similarities from what I've seen in the kill counts.
It is a remake, a fan remake that turned out so well, Valve decided to allow them to release it on Steam as a fully fledged game!

Good video. I will tell that in mine first full gameplay of Black Mesa I beated final boss in under 4 minutes.
If you never played before and expecting a similar battle like that in the original Half-Life - then yeah, this feels more like a dark souls boss haha! But I’ve played this many many times so knew what to do, where the ammo was and what attacks to dodge. I reset Steam Achievements using Steam Achievement Manager just to add achievements back into my playthroughs. 👌💪

You know, watching you play has made me wonder if I’ve been too conservative with the Tau cannon and rocket launcher…
I was the same in my first play through, scared to use them.. but the sheer amount of ammo around each level is just there when you look for it. I knew grabbing it all would help boost the entertainment value of the kill count so used the top weapons as much as possible when available. The Gluon Gun having infinite ammo at the crystals was a nice addition as in HL1 that burnt through ammo QUICK!!! 🫶

So, I know you probably have a lot of other videos lined up, but since 2024 marks the 20 year anniversary of Half-Life 2’s release, maybe you could consider making a recount video of that?

You know, I don’t mean to brag, but I think my overall kill count in Black Mesa is actually a bit higher than yours!
Mainly because I often use up a lot more ammo what’s probably necessary to get rid of barnacles. Both the regular ones and the “beneathacles” in Xen. They creep me out so much…

I just kill what I naturally would just casually playing the game, but I did think I killed almost everything on the main path. Well done to your Gordon Freeman - unless you included killing harmless scientists and black mesa securities on your rampage? 😂😂

This remake is phenomenal probably the most definitive way to play half life 1, i think some modders are making remakes for blue shift and opposing force as well those are gonna be a blast when they come out!
