Golden Horn definitely stopped Free Eagle in his tracks, but as FE didn't finish 'close enough' to GH overall, that's why he wasn't thrown out. I think GH is arguably over the top for the year now.

I'm a great fan of GH;i've backed him several times this season, but, i've seen thousands of races to know he wouldn't have won. Gh is an amazingly intelligent animal, and will do what he has to do to win-believe it or not!!

That was such an odd swerve. Considering what happened earlier at Doncaster, it is surprising the decision was left to stand.
The horse jinked when it saw the shadow of the furlong post, nothing frankie could do , so the decision had to stand ,you can't have a stewards enquiry based on a horse getting scared
Thank God Simple Verse was re instated later. That was a terrible decision originally , in the st.leger, awful.
Golden Horn came back to winning ways
I've never seen how the rule book for Irish racing reads to know if the stewards should've judged Golden Horn coming out on Free Eagle and stopping his momentum dead in his tracks as being interference severe enough to warrant disqualification? That being said, 3 years prior in 2012 at this very meeting, the filly Duntle was taken down as the winner of the G1 Matron Stakes for much less than Golden Horn did in this race. Rule book be damned, that's a fact.
Golden Horn by a length eased down hard for the stewards to overturn even if they did golden horn would have been placed behind freeeagle which would have made Found the winner so it would be difficult for the stewards to change it using the book

Very naughty golden horn no carrots for two weeks.
Well it's hard to say just how badly the result was affected as Free Eagle drifted in him self. It was certainly a bad bump, true. I don't think it cost him the race, though it obviously didn't do him much good.
Found went onto win the arc after this race i think if not the following year she did
Stewards inquiry aside , golden horn got the job done on a far from ideal ground after a long season , his early season form would obliterate treve ,gleneagles etc. he looks a tired horse right now
How in the world was GoldenHorn not DQed?
key West SUNSET they would have changed the placings if free Eagle finished second but because he came third they can't place him in front of the second. they also deemed that the horse moved off a true path and the jockey was not at fault
Free Eagle did drift left which made it look worse than it was which is probably why result stood.
Here in the states Golden Horn would be taken down. Bad call by the stewards.

+Sam Ashfield And English after Bondi beach won the St Leger by protest.... Simple verse was hand ridden for all but the final 75 yards sure there was a slight bump but Boni beach was laying in on her for over 1/2 furlong and the jockey ever put the whip down and tried to correct it maybe because Coolmore keep English racing alive and it being a G1 classic is why the stewards upheld it terrible both decisions

Interesting race, Cirrus des Aigles was the only horse to ever get close to Frankel in a finish.

@@sabbakandegregor9874 Canord Cliffs was literally run off his legs by Frankel at Goodwood. Sadly it was his last race, injured from that race. That downhill straight at Goodwood is one of the fastest in the world. At least he got to pass good genes to his progeny

Golden Horn has hindered Free Eagle, that was a illegal movement, it was amounted.
Free Eagle came there to win the race, may have even taken the lead - how do you explain Free Eagle's head banging into Golden Horn's hind quarters - do you think it was gaining ground or losing ground? Answers on a postcard please.

i was at the race it was an absolute disgrace the best horse finished third, free eagle lost all momentum when golden horn bumped him very bad call by the stewards
+Wayne Hand I'm afraid Free Eagle would not have won. He Came upsides Golden Horn 2 out but when Golden Horn jinked right half a furlong out Golden Horn was 3/4 of a length in front & not stopping.
+Alan Cochrane Not sure about the rules in racing over there, but whether or not Free Eagle would have won shouldn't be the point (and wouldn't be in American racing), the disqualification of GoldenHorn should have happened for the impeding of Free Eagle alone. You can't assume whether of horse will tire or pass or not pass another horse, that's why rules are put in place. I'm not for one horse or the other, just calling it the way I see it.

i know nothing about racing over seas but if this isnt a dq what fuck is? free eagle was a game second running and seems to be making fround behind a head or neck and after being bumbed , horribly i might add loses momentum and comes in third??? no dq, wow....this is the last 100 yards not the first few steps , this is crazy...
