Ninja Gaiden black is the best action game on the market still. Player error is such a big thing with this game compared to devil may cry or darksiders ,ect. Enemies really don’t give a shit how powerful you are in this game either and I do like that a lot. You’re just as vulnerable in the first level as you are till the end of the game.

One day I'll nail a full UF fight of both stadium and gbc during a run, but it's hard to keep concentration at that point in a long run. Especially since NGB always has a way to keep you on your toes.

I used to play this game on my xbox back in the day in my high school years and i remember getting stuck on Very hard mode.... but until this day i couldn't find a better game mechanic in any game like NGB. For a master ninja speedrun, it usually takes me about 30-45min to get a decent chapter 1. It's the hardest part in the run imho. The red ninjas can be very dodgy at times. The other chapters aren't so bad once you get some backup potions and ninpo.
Makes sense. This early on into a run you can just reset if something goes wrong, so risky strats don't actually have any risk attached, as time loss doesn't matter in unfinished runs.
Ninpo damage bugs out Marbus' staggers frames. It does so by letting certain hits reset his stagger timer. Like the Y portion of XXY, or XXXY from the TDS.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who uses the Lunar. Although weaker, I like it because it keep the "stun" effect going longer & can give you 100+ combo's-
I love that you record this playthrough in one sit (well it's a speed run anyway). Most youtubers just cut after each save point and pick up the best records and glue them into one complete playthrough. Their skills are admirable as well but it's just so unreal that one player finishes the game without sucking a potion or even getting hit. Ninja Gaiden is a very unreasonable game. Even if you know how to cheese it the AI still finds its way to kick your ass.
This, Segmented runs are cool since it's the best possible segments for that player, kinda like how TAS is potentially "The Best" possible, flat, but theres something about seeing the dedication to a game like this, I genuinely wish they still made games that, while amazing to play still could give you a nightmare until you learned what was up.
@@CJDNMB I see zero difference between these games, I only played Razors Blade and Sigma 1 I think, bailed at the first mission in the latter, got bored of the repetitiveness in RB after the T-rex boss.. Seriously, these games boil down to fighting waves of enemies over and over, then "fighting" (more like cheesing) some lame ass boss, spamming jump and charged attacks due to invulnerability, back to spamming jump.. Camera is beyond bad, enemies can grab you whenever they want, ranged enemies shoot at you from offscreen.. I'll stick with Nioh thank you, it isnt perfect but it is a massive step up from NG, there's no contest here.

This game was fucking insane. I've played it time and again, and it still kicks my ass. While I do typically play on hard, because I see more enemy variety, and get better rewards for exploring, normal is still, an incredibly ball busting time. I haven't even touched Master Ninja. I finished Very Hard on a Christmas Break once, and promptly fell backwards onto the futon, not giving a fuck about anything else at the moment.

Played the non black Ninja Garden. It was very tough. I almost gave up, but persisted and actually really enjoyed it. I did spam flying swallow a lot though 😁
That door being left open is an oversight by the developers. This only happens if you do the Archive challenge just before you start the Alma fight. Extremely easy way to cheese it but not exactly the most time efficient method.

I've already done all the Weapon Only challenge runs but never did record them for youtube purposes. Even went so far as to complete a Dragon Sword Only No Ninpo No ET/UT No Izuna Drop No Potions run. Finishing off Timmygun's Path of the Masochist challenge is still on my checklist >:D

love these games and the fact the master collection was just announced made me want to watch these. but quick question. around the 57 minute mark how come you were farming enemies by the staircase? is it to get money for upgrades?
That is the cheese strat for completing the Archive challenge. I complete it in that fashion since I have to fight Alma and her minions just after it. The other way is to attempt to complete the challenge with just a level 2 dragon sword and lunar. Not the safest strat and would probably result in a lot of burnt potions.

@@unwaryrince I eventually finally finished the master ninja difficulty even with the lvl 3 art. But I must say, when I started playing the second boss more relax and not rushing to attack, it is pretty easy.
I cancel out the recovery frames of the FS by throwing shurikens. This instantly puts Ryu into a neutral air state as if you jump up without pressing any direction. I immediately hit Y and do the helmsplitter from that.
@@jogre900 I did some runs of Sigma 1 but stopped. The loading issues made me sick of it (like running thru Tairon). That's my main criticism of the game. There are some other flaws but that's the biggest killer for me.
The reward for beating Master Ninja difficulty is the fact you beat Master Ninja difficulty. You might be thinking of the nes ng games from Ninja Gaiden 2004. Those are not in NGB.
I need to have extra ninpo for the low health UF strat on Fiend Murai. You need inferno to protect yourself from an instant grab and it has a chance to make him stagger when it connects.
@@davank4723 You press the R or L triggers to move the dial in a specific sequence. You learn the sequence from reading the nearby book near the little statue. Much like using a combination lock.

It's faster to backtrack and do that challenge with the dabilahro than to do it in when you only have the lvl1 flails. AOeing them with a nice giant UT makes it so fast. About 2-3 min faster. Another advantage is that it's easier to set your lifebar for a low health UF kill on Doku. Since you have to get the water tank in the run.

love these games and the fact the master collection was just announced made me want to watch these. but quick question. around the 57 minute mark how come you were farming enemies by the staircase? is it to get money for upgrades?
That is the cheese strat for completing the Archive challenge. I complete it in that fashion since I have to fight Alma and her minions just after it. The other way is to attempt to complete the challenge with just a level 2 dragon sword and lunar. Not the safest strat and would probably result in a lot of burnt potions.

Hey, how come your art of the inazuma causes some kind of aftershock that the enemy still gets hit? Like at 3:03:09
Alma and Nicchae are bugged vs low level Inazuma, always registers a hit at the end of the animation.

@@TiborFM It's not a well known exploit. For GBC challenge, Inazuma lvl3 and UF are great for the lasercrabs.
@@unwaryrince I eventually finally finished the master ninja difficulty even with the lvl 3 art. But I must say, when I started playing the second boss more relax and not rushing to attack, it is pretty easy.

I cancel out the recovery frames of the FS by throwing shurikens. This instantly puts Ryu into a neutral air state as if you jump up without pressing any direction. I immediately hit Y and do the helmsplitter from that.

@@jogre900 I did some runs of Sigma 1 but stopped. The loading issues made me sick of it (like running thru Tairon). That's my main criticism of the game. There are some other flaws but that's the biggest killer for me.
@@unwaryrince i only played sigma version, never have a xbox console. A lot of people complain about the differences beetwen sigma and black.

You might be thinking of the nes ng games from Ninja Gaiden 2004. Those are not in NGB.

Gleaming Blade, 180 degree turn of the thumbstick and press Y. Can be easily buffered from jumps.

You get used to it. Gotta use the recenter camera button a lot. I think by default it is right trigger.

I need to have extra ninpo for the low health UF strat on Fiend Murai. You need inferno to protect yourself from an instant grab and it has a chance to make him stagger when it connects.

@@davank4723 You press the R or L triggers to move the dial in a specific sequence. You learn the sequence from reading the nearby book near the little statue. Much like using a combination lock.

Why did you backtrack so much for Tomb of Eons 120 challenge? For the extra yellow essence?
It's faster to backtrack and do that challenge with the dabilahro than to do it in when you only have the lvl1 flails. AOeing them with a nice giant UT makes it so fast. About 2-3 min faster. Another advantage is that it's easier to set your lifebar for a low health UF kill on Doku. Since you have to get the water tank in the run.
