Mashiba’s Redemption Arc is so damn good. He was cool before, but now he’s one of my favorite characters. It’s clear that he loves the sport and respects Ippo as a boxer AND as a man.

Mashiba can spar against Ippo, but Ippo is not left-handed like Marcus Rosario. But Ippo can still train Mashiba to counter bulldozing fighters.

I am from the future. Ippo can now switch stances and is way faster then before. He gave Mashiba a run for his money. Unfortunately he lost tho
@@joshuamartinez770Mashiba had motivation to keep going while Ippo only just wants to help. Depending on his desire to help he gets more "bloodlusted" (see Volg vs Ippo spar), which he didn't really achieve during his spar with Mashiba

People complain about how long the Kumi-Ippo romance has taken to progress...I welcome it. (The rest is added in an edit as I didnt get the chance to put my full thoughts down but so it goes) Too many shonen have felt the need to shoehorn in a half-assed romance at the end that feels lazy and forced. Like Ichigo and Orihime or Sakura and Sasuke. I'd much rather get hundreds of chapters of build up for a mutual romance than get a timeskip that just says "oh yeah and Ippo and Kumi got married or whatever"
I think is for the better. Sure Kumi is toxic asf. But I think is better to allow her some growth as they maybe get into a relationship. Id like to see tbf.
@@alexjimenez997 well, while Kumi is going about it in the wrong way I feel, her behavior is sweet in a way, it's just contrary to the desires of the fanbase and that's purposeful. As a medical professional, Kumi is very aware of what CTE does to a person, and she has said that she genuinely wants a life with Ippo. If you knew the person you wanted to marry was consciously doing something that could cripple them for life, or worse kill them, would you want them to continue doing it? My answer is no...but I think the correct answer, and the one that morikawa is building up to, is that it isn't Kumi's decision to make, and that if she cares about Ippo, she'll support him even if he's doing something dangerous and frightening.

I feel the same way, all jokes. I understand how she feels. I also feel the same about Ippo’s retirement. I get to enjoy other characters journey while seeing his massive growth instead of a time skip or something.
Then you want a totally irrealistic romance, ichigo orhime is not bad, is just way more realistic than the really forced ones, and the build up was there you just were blind, probably ichirukia tard issue.
I think peak way to deal with Aokimura is have Aoki fight Iga, get him absolutely ass blasted into retirement via injury and/or age, then have Kimura go up a weight class to get revenge and beat Iga

I dont think Ippo and Kumi are the right fit for each other and I think ippo might soon begin to realize that even more. He is only just now seeing Kumi acting all tempered. I'm kinda hoping for Itagaki and Kumi to get together and Ippo with his highschool old classmate (who actually watched a few of his matches). Also I think Mashiba is gonna get smoked and put into retirement by Marcus. I cant even see the match getting close. I think it's gonna be a 1 sided fight and Marcus will probably toy with Mashiba. The fight could look similar to Takamura vs Bryan Hawk with Hawk toying with takamura in the beginning of their match. After Mashiba loses badly then I can see Kumi asking ippo to quit boxing entirely (even as a second) or blame ippo for Mashiba's loss and end the relationship or ippo will end it himself probably.
That would be a good way to shake things up. Itagaki leaving and stealing Kumi away? May be a good way for him to move gyms in order to fight ippo when he inevitably returns
@@RaziaManga Not sure if I'm mistaken since It happened a long time ago but remember when Itagaki was in the zone and was moving at god like speed. Was he tempted of sparring or fighting ippo at that time? Also remember when Umezawa mentioned how Ippo had the look of a "Monster" and Itagaki got curious about it. What if he intentionally tries to take Kumi away and bring that Monster out of Ippo out of curiosity. Ippo lost control when it was his disciples that disrespected him. He's known Itagaki for longer and that break in trust could make ippo go crazy. I feel like this would be too dark tho for the ippo manga lol. Also Miyata isn't naturally featherweight but Itagaki is. What if Itagaki vs Ippo match is like how others would envision the Miyata vs Ippo that was never meant to be.
@@Momentai. I believe he achieved “god of time/chronos” level when he fought the speed king because he was obsessed with beating him faster than Ippo did. I also think that would be dark for hajime no ippo too and I don’t think that is in Kumi’s character. It would be crazy if Itagaki got ranked high enough to challenge Miyata and then beats him. Forcing him to either retire or move up weight classes and officially making it so we will never see their match in the pro ring. That would bring the monster out for sure.

@@EaTStu I recommend you to watch the anime, it'll be hard to sit through part 1(which has only 55 canon episodes) but part 2's animation, voice dubbing everything becomes good.
